Simultaneous contrast is not just a curious optical phenomenon - it is the very heart of painting.

Optical Illusion
Now an optical illusion
is when your eyes
play tricks on you.
It shows you things
that are not really there.
The old saying of only
half believe what you see
has more truth in it
than you would believe,
as we don’t always see things
the way they really are.
Take an abstract painting,
take a closer look at it
and see how many things
your mind can make there.
Watch the clouds
roll by overhead
and look at the different shapes
that are created there.
The next time you look at something,
just be aware
it could well be
an optical illusion there.

The little may contrast with the great, in painting, but cannot be said to be contrary to it. Oppositions of colors contrast; but there are also colors contrary to each other, that is, which produce an ill effect because they shock the eye when brought very near it.
What is the use of good painting? We want a spell cast upon the optical part of our existence! We seldom really see the world, but when we do, we become as still as a picture.

Optical Contusion
“I wanna divorce, get out you S.O.B.
Or I’ll give to you an optical contusion
Take the cat, the house you leave to me
You’re sordid affair was no optical illusion! ”

The Spectrum
Its the typical ones who want out cause its getting critical and the curious
Running away they are the furious ones its the perfect disguise known as fear
Its a shame its a phenomenon slapping our faces and laughing away at us all
Chorus:
What does this mean to have my way with you distance me discovering the truth
Arranged for something new cause it makes me feel good now I get excited by
The signs
As the provider of random sex youre getting skeptical since youve joined my
Parade I can laugh Ive had you my way it was perfect inside now I feel its a
Shame youre a phenomenon shadow embraces an innocent plan for us all

What a curious phenomenon it is that you can get men to die for the liberty of the world who will not make the little sacrifice that is needed to free themselves from their own individual bondage.

We see in the electroencephalogram a concomitant phenomenon of the continuous nerve processes which take place in the brain, exactly as the electrocardiogram represents a concomitant phenomenon of the contractions of the individual segments of the heart.

The whole conviction of my life now rests upon the belief that loneliness, far from being a rare and curious phenomenon, peculiar to myself and to a few other solitary men, is the central and inevitable fact of human existence.
Demonoid Phenomenon
Hell on earth
For what its worth
Dead on dreaming
You started screaming
The wizard of how
The king of the now
Cry like a banshee
And die like you want me
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and meet the hater
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and
Demonoid phenomenon
Get it out
Get it on
Demonoid phenomenon
Get it out
Get it on
The conquering worm
The slithering germ
Lost in black sleep
I see how the gods weep
The horror of madness
The terminal sadness
The cool air of mourning
Gave me the warning
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and meet the hater
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and
Demonoid phenomenon
Get it out
Get it on
Demonoid phenomenon
Get it out
Get it on
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and meet the hater
Violator
Desecrator
Turn around and
Demonoid phenomenon
Get it out
Get it on

Im So Curious
So curious
So curious
Im so curious about our love
I dont understand
Why don;t you take my hand
And tell me you care (u care)
I see all the signs
But if u wanna be mine
Dont leave me up in the air.
Oh baby
U better let your love show
Heres what Im telling you
Let me know
Let me go
Chorus:
Im so curious
Do u love me?
Do u wonder the way I do? (I do)
Im so curious
What do u think of me] (of me)
Boy, am I just a game
Or do u feel the same way as I do?
So curious
So curious
Im so curious about our love
If its make believe
Why dont u set my heart free
And tell me goodbye? (goodbye)
But if its for real
Tell me u feel for me
Way deep down inside
Oh baby
Is it goodbye or hello?
Herez what Im telling you
Let me know
Let me go
(repeat chorus)
So curious
Yea, yea
All day and night I just dream of you (of you)
I think about all the things that we could do
Im dying for and Im feeling for the day
When you could open up and say
You feel the same
You feel like I do (yeah)
(repeat chorus)

Curious
Straight as a dye
On us we rely
Yet watch how my head is turning
Distracting my eye
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me
Troubled by the thought of it, I cant deny
That Im curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I cant deny
That Im curious, never have decieved you
Just curious, I cannot lie
Give me a reason
Ill hide my delight
Shamelessly Ill seize the moment
Just my needs in sight
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me
Troubled by the thought of it, I cant deny
That Im curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I cant deny
That Im curious, never have decieved you
Just curious, I cannot lie
Its no reflection on you, yet who would believe me
Troubled by the thought of it, I cant deny
That Im curious, never meant to hurt you
Just curious, I cant deny
That Im curious, never have decieved you
Just curious, I cannot lie

An Unsettling Stir
Undoing intricate tangles,
the bizarre phenomenon is observed
The lot though dished copiously,
is in contrast to truly deserved
Often labors those employed,
don't reveal the truest of one's plight
Where trudge is incessantly eternal
and no end anywhere in sight
Simple overtures get rejected
and one's intentions are treated askance
Reprobate one is often branded
in this inexplicable social circumstance

Painting The Walls
painting the walls,
rolling over handprints,
cobwebs, and smoke stains....
over splashes of color,
over peels of time.
painting over the sounds
of voices whispering, laughing....
painting over tears hidden
from the world, from each other.
painting over running, and working,
working all day and half the night.
painting over children, and dreams,
folded like old clothes, and put away.
painting over notes from God,
that were often barely noticed...
painting over the nail that held
up the clock, hands moving slowly,
turning the seasons of living....
painting over the final words,
the last breath held in the hands,
of lives written in the grain....
the testimony of each feeling....
painting the walls,
and brushing the corners,
as if we never lived!
