You are the lens in the beam. You can only receive, give, and possess the light as the lens does. If you seek yourself, you rob the lens of its transparency. You will know life and be acknowledged by it according to your degree of transparency, your capacity, that is, to vanish as an end, and remain purely as a means.

Dippold the Optician

What do you see now?
Globes of red, yellow, purple.
Just a moment! And now?
My father and mother and sisters.
Yes! And now?
Knights at arms, beautiful women, kind faces.
Try this.
A field of grain—a city.
Very good! And now?
A young woman with angels bending over her.
A heavier lens! And now?
Many women with bright eyes and open lips.
Try this.
Just a goblet on a table.
Oh I see! Try this lens!
Just an open space—I see nothing in particular.
Well, now!
Pine trees, a lake, a summer sky.
That’s better. And now?
A book.
Read a page for me.
I can’t. My eyes are carried beyond the page.
Try this lens.
Depths of air.
Excellent! And now?
Light, just light, making everything below it a toy world.
Very well, we’ll make the glasses accordingly.

Perverse

I can't even look at you
Remembering what you meant to me
Remembering now how it felt to walk alone
When all around was laughter and chaos
Looking at your eyes
Still and unblinking for the lens all seeing
The lens is killer
The observer perverse
Yes
I am
Perverse

Lens Of Life

We look at life through different angles
trying always to get the best shot.
Some times the camera lens is dirty
and a fuzzy picture is all you get.
We clean the lens and take another shot,
hoping for a better picture,
one without regret.

Big and bold and defined

you are like a lens

You are like a lens
A big round thing of
Convex glass

Magnifying every minute
Thing or small matters
Every word every letter

Well on a positive side
All words become so clear
And they appear so loud

On the other hand, don’t
Magnify sunshine lest it
Becomes so hot
and turn To fire and
we get burned we get charred.

In the light of our culture, these are not unreasonable questions and tactics, but if once again, we try to see the lens through which we look, we can see that there is far too great an emphasis placed on the future.

Smile For The Camera

I see you standing out there in the hall
You seem so nervous waiting for his call
I focus on you
I reach for the lens
The shutter snaps again
(smile)
Smile for the camera
You know
(smile)
The camera never ever lies
Ive been watching you with
Eager hungry eyes
For sometime
(smile)
I hold my lens in the middle of the night
Visions of you dancing in the strobe light
Up on my wall is a picture or two
Of someone who looks like you
(smile)
Smile for the camera
You know
(smile)
The camera is my wide lens
(smile)
You know the camera is my private eye
I got color transparencies
I got black and white
(smile)
Smile for the camera
You know that
(smile)
Cameras never ever lies
(smile)
Ive been watching you with telephoto eyes
For some time
(smile)
Smile for me
(come on)
Smile for me
(come on)
Smile for me
(come on)
Smile for me
(come on)
Smile for me
(come on)
Smile for me
(come on)
(smile)
Wont you smile for the camera
Wont you smile for the
Click, click, click
(smile)
Smile for the camera
(smile)
Smile for the camera
(smile)
Smile for the camera
(smile)
Smile for the camera
(smile)
Smile for the camera

You know

The camera is my private eye

The Poets light but Lamps

883

The Poets light but Lamps—
Themselves—go out—
The Wicks they stimulate—
If vital Light

Inhere as do the Suns—
Each Age a Lens
Disseminating their
Circumference—

Where Are The Lights Hidden?

When look into the sky, there is some light, then dark,
When look into the heart there is lot of truth clogged,
When look into the eye, there is a cloudy lens, fogged,
Let the light be shown everywhere to see the invisible,
Let hundred Suns emerge from the offing of infinitive,
Let the space be lighten up to see the galaxies in the black holes,
Let the stars that are light years away sway as the candles,
Let the white light remove the smear from the souls,
When the darkness is removed through the light,
Many truths may become lies and lies become the truth,
Let the light be shown on our hearts to bring out the mirth.

What To Do With An Eternal Soul?

God is eternal
the same
yesterday today tomorrow

we are eternal also
never forget
we still possess
an immortal soul

therefore
what
will you do
with this life?

Love thy neighbour
as thyself

and never forget
it is better
to give
than to receive

we are eternal
also
and as we give
so shall we receive

life is too short
to waste
in bitterness
anger regret

try show
a little kindness
be a light
in godless darkness
shine a light
for those lost at sea

you were made
in God’s image
love covers
a multitude of sin

love for others
is a good place to begin
embrace the
image of God
aspire to perfection
let it be your rod.
