Your every voter, as surely as your chief magistrate, exercises a public trust.

Illusion of Choice
A voter craves their representation,
Someone who can embody their nation
As they believe it should be. They make pleas
That push toward greater equalities,
Calling for consensus sympathies—
To build our empathetic relations.
A voter wants to be their creation,
A catalyst for governed salvation.
They want to think they can come to appease
The public—which is always ill at ease.
They disregard their lack of expertise
And force opinions by accusation.
Of course, the other side states the same thing,
And politics descend into nonsense.
It becomes a game of waspy offense—
Two sides aggressive for the deepest sting.
Victors will change nothing—left or right wing.
If only to keep voters in suspense.
They argue again in vapid pretense,
So what does our illusion of choice bring?

The vote is a trust more delicate than any other, for it involves not just the interests of the voter, but his life, honor and future as well.

Although... the Chief Magistrate must almost of necessity be chosen by a party and stand pledged to its principles and measures, yet in his official action he should not be the President of a party only, but of the whole people of the United States.

I was always looking ahead. I used to do all kinds of things for entertainment. When I was young, we had no radio, no TV. We were 30 miles from the public library, out in the sticks in Western Kansas, and so I'd do arithmetic exercises.

I trust...
I trust the thunder, I trust the rain
I trust the cars, I trust the train
I trust the secrets, I trust the truth
I trust the old, I trust the youth
...I trust My right, I trust my left
I trust the Ground, I trust the skies
I trust the Truth But not the lies
I trust the fairies, I trust the elf
I trust you all… just not myself
Pride is Power
Think of that woman
Smugly ensconced on her
Backrest
She would prefer to give
Of her wealth
Than beg for anything
She is proud
And exerts power
Over her beneficiaries.
Think too about that
Beautiful girl
Who shakes her bottoms
This way and that
On the road
She woos boys
But does not show it
She is proud
And exercises power
Over her lovers
Think of the pastor
Shouting on the pulpit
He will heal the people
And demand their tithes
He is proud
And exercises power
Over his congregation
Or is it the politician
Who preaches prosperity
At the political rally
Where voters assemble
After favors received
He is proud
And exercises power
Over the electorate.

Psalm 129
Will you trust me in the valley deep?
Will you trust me as you lay down to sleep?
Yes I will trust you despite the pain
Yes I will trust you without any gain
Will you trust me in the depths of the sea?
Will you trust me though we may not agree?
Yes I will trust you in the darkest night
Yes I will trust you when I have no sight
Will you trust me when your lost and alone?
Will you trust me when your far from home?
Yes I will trust you when I have lost my way
Yes I will trust you to bring me back one day
Will you trust me that justice is Mine?
Will you trust me to give you new wine?
Yes I will trust you and turn the cheek
Yes I will trust you, your presence I seek

Trust in Me-Selena Gomez
Trust in me, just in me.
Close your eyes and trust in me.
You can sleep safe and sound,
Knowing I am around.
Slip into silent slumber,
Sail on a silver mist.
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist.
Trust in me, just in me,
Close your eyes and trust in me.
Trust in me, just in me,
Close your eyes and trust in me.
Slip into silent slumber,
Sail on a silver mist.
Slowly and surely your senses
Will cease to resist.
Trust in me, just in me,
Close your eyes and trust in me.

Trust Thy Heart
I Trust my blossoming heart
I understand why I am blue and red around the bushes
Of the earth.
Ye, To trust my heart
I will surely be at the top of the tree
Yelling loud to the heaven
So Blue.
I keep my heart to win back myself,
I trust my heart,
His an old friend back back
When the seed get rooted in bed!
I trust my fading heart
I knew how deep and shallow the waters it be,
Ye, though it rains in cycles
Pour down, ye pour down
What a new pearl I found!
Because I win back my heart.
I trust my heart,
I trust her colors in tints and shades
Ye, I had known it
Thy Heart is a bundle of color pencils
And the names of it I trust.
To trust thyself and heart once more.

Trust....
I trust the night
I trust the stars that shine
I trust the moon
I know its love’s divine
I trust the wind
I trust its winding ways
I trust the sky
I know its separate days
I trust the dawn
I trust its rising light
I trust the sun
I know its blinding sight
I trust the clouds
I trust the crimson waves
I trust the things I love
I know that this trust saves Me.

Why Is The House Burning Down?
Why is the house burning down?
Do you care to repeat that?
'Sure.
No problem.
When the fire chief arrived,
The occupants assumed he was not qualified.
Based upon his
Well,
The obvious.
So,
They said they would wait
Until a new chief is appointed.'
Wait for what?
The house is ruined
Totally destroyed
What 'new' chief?
He 'is' the chief
'Sir?
If you wish to
'Approach' them with that explanation
Perhaps you can convince them of that
The told me, the others 'and' the chief
They were entitled to have their expectations met.
And
If they have to stand there for the rest of their lives
They will do it.'

Monopoly
Finally the day dawned when a monopoly owned everything in the
world
So it went looking for its stockholders to celebrate
But they were all owned by it they were all dead they were
someplace
Their photographs hung in elevators which went up and down up and
down carrying nobody
Everyone else was in bed doing exercises to get in shape for noon
Hey the monopoly said let's uncork the World Trade Center and get
blotto
Silence
The monopoly scowled
All it wanted was a little good-fellowship, like you get in the
highrise apartment-buildings
Then the sky got awful dark
Gee
And everyone was in bed frantically doing those exercises that get us in
shape for death
Exercises known as "kissing" "fucking" "caressing"
Everyone was unaware that they had been bought
Or that the earth was about to sell them to the moon
For a little light

Limited Choice
All politicians preen and pose.
They promise forthright honesty.
We aren’t the fools that they suppose
because we very clearly see.
That all the promises they make.
Examined closely make no sense,
they all repeat the same mistake.
Assume the public has no sense.
Your vote is all they want from you
For that they lie with practised ease.
And once elected they will do
very little which will please.
The general public as a whole.
For once aboard the gravy train
They have achieved their only goal
and treat the voters with disdain.
So think before you cast your vote
scrutinise them carefully.
Don’t be afraid to rock the boat
and rouse yourselves from apathy.
The voting system is unfair
and does not represent the views
of every voter everywhere.
We are denied the right to choose.
The form of government we need.
That’s why the country’s in a mess.
Enslaved by some out dated creed
which renders many votes worthless.
The systems rotten to the core
relies on public apathy.
We get what we deserve no more.
It’s sad but true apparently.
It needs a drastic overhaul
there is no sign that it will get.
Your vote is worth nothing at all
That is the only certain bet.
