A Deliberate Movement

you plan it
and think about it for nights and nights
precisely
the reason why you cannot sleep

you draw on paper your schemes
for escapes
you put the arrows there
and mark the ultimate
freedom where light
is
with an x,

a big
X,

there are caves there
and secret
doors and canopies
and false windows

and even quicksands
where a mistake
can mean

death,

and there are gardens too
which look like
a prelude to castles
where seemingly
a princess lives

your ideas are plots
always plots
your theme is freedom
and always
it has always been freedom

you are never free
so you always
dream what you do not have

you wish of today
as the beginning towards
z, the point z, the
ultimatum of
this deliberate move
to escape,

i am tired of your
schemes and plots
and dialogues about
freedom

all i did to make you
think a little
before i sleep

is to put
the letter 'Y',

perhaps, it will calm you
down.

I always start with characters rather than with a plot, which many critics would say is very obvious from the lack of plot in my films - although I think they do have plots - but the plot is not of primary importance to me, the characters are.

A House Broker with Knack

Sitting on the step
of a corner tea-stall in the morning,
he dunked a butter biscuit
in his cup of tea and ate it.
Every new passerby
caught his rapt attention.
If anybody queried about a plot or flat,
he would order one more cup of tea
and insist the guest to take some biscuits too
and push down his hand into his pocket,
as if taking out money and also buy some cigarettes
at the expense of the visitor.
He would then take him to some worthless plots
and after stemming all his financial status,
would show plots at moderate rates,
quoting costly prices as it was in the heart of the city.
The buyer fell himself into pleasure
And the broker swelled in his treasure.
The buyer pays back his loan till he dies
and the broker says goodbye to his hut
For he had to move to his royal inn.

But time has changed
and status of the people improved now.
People are picked up in A.C. cars from their homes
to see the plots and flats and have a nice lunch
before booking commences with all fanfare.

Sleep, Sleep, My Little One

Sleep, sleep, my little one
‘Tis better in this world of us
To sleep the sleep of the innocents
Than sleep the sleep of the just:
At least you’ll have a greater chance
To avoid long knives and plots
And bloody rendezvous.

For in this world, this world of us
The just is alien and his sleep
Most dangerous negligence:
Long knives will wait at corners round
And plots and darts abound
For all the just around.
For in this world, this world of us,
The sleep of innocents is better than
The sleep of all the just, my little one.

Sleep, sleep, my little one
And let outside the dark wind neigh
And rain and chill make fear
And the sea’s waves make storm and rage
And evil win
And the good disappear
And do not open your eyes sweet one
Before night and storm have passed away.

Carlos Ruiz Zafon

I am in the business of storytelling. I always have been, always will be. It is what I've been doing since I was a kid. Telling stories, making up tales, bringing life to characters, devising plots, visualizing scenes and staging sequences of events, images, words and sounds that tell a story. All in exchange for a penny, a smile or a tear, and a little of your time and attention.

Plot

Inside an epic of turmoil,
Within the bastians of rage
Lives the novel of self depreciations,
For another story,
Go ‘head,
And turn the page.

Residing deep in each new chapter
Lie plots filled with twists and turns,
Characters, both major and small,
And a lesson which the main character,
That is you,
Eventually, wholeheartedly,
And begrudingly learns.

The Doldrums

Ashen faces flood the street.
Change abounds so much so that its retreat
Is lauded & called the doldrums.
Hernan Cortez facilitated pogroms,
A sacking that gave Spain a brand new fleet
Of towering masts & enemies to meet.

Warfare now has become as well an ashen face,
Rivals to the east & an unknown west.
Unkempt maniacs with plots fooling plots
Is all they shall get-
There being no maker to meet;
No invisible virgins replete;
No sultry shores of whinnying sands.
The can look forward to no thing-
No thing but bandages on their heads & their hands.

The rest of us die for no visible cause, as well:
Food, family, shelter, flag,
Santa Claus.

Begin the Mending of Unreasoning

There is a purpose behind a reason,
That plots from a reasoning...
Its purpose.

She has been seducing him,
Since the beginning of their childhood.
She practiced technique with her daddy.
And daddy practiced patience and understanding.
She liked that about her daddy.

He was torn between Magic, Shaq and Kobe!
'Yeah, but that Michael will always be the best! '
He was a sportsman!
And she fell asleep in his lap!
Just like she did,
When daddy did that!

He thought he knew what he was getting into.
Until she wanted more of what he could not prove,
He could do.
So he screwed her that night...
And he left not to return.

There is a purpose behind a reason,
That plots from a reasoning...
Its purpose.

It did not take her long to realize,
She paralyzed their love!
She criticized his lovemaking acts.
And reacted as if he was not there at all.
Feelings had been among the missing,
For days...
In the forest of hidden misunderstandings.

With her face towards the wall...
Expecting him to communicate,
'Her' feelings he could not possibly feel!
She did not make them real to him!
She felt hurt!
And he was suppose to know!
Or at least pretended to care?
He snored loudly!

'Could romance be slipping from the booty calls? '
He thought as he was swept with anguish!
Thinking with sincere sentiments...
'She crazy as hell,
If she think I'm gonna try and 'be' Denzel.'

There is a purpose behind a reason,
That plots from a reasoning...
Its purpose.

He heard his name being called from the distance,
In a pleading believed.
And coming to ease his anger quick,
She pleads in tones believed!

'Please. Don't leave me.
I am the Sun that comes to love.
You are the spark my heart feeds,
Upon a craving desire to have you near!
Please. Don't leave me, please!
Not here like this.
Please release us from this ignorance.
Don't go my love...
My dear! Don't leave me,
Please! '

She said she wanted him in a language,
He knew 'now' they spoke fluently!
He had not wanted his love to waste.
For any maiden.
Oh he 'tripped' just knowing she ran,
After him with love he had always known for her.
And she did not want to pace the floor.
Knowing within moments how to prevent it!
Knowing within moments...

There is a purpose behind a reason,
That plots from a reasoning...
Its purpose.

And those who know how to do it...
May 'what' is known and applied...
Increase the hold of a bonding,
Worthy to strengthen loosening ties!

And that,
With reason
Becomes the purpose!
To begin,
The mending of unreasoning
To build upon seasons,
Seasoned with love and committement.

And with reason the purpose can flourish.
Never to wither a love delivered seasoned,
With reason as its purpose.

Lost In A Book

SHHH!
don't bother me
I'm lost in a book

mixed up with
the complicated plots
and outrageous characters

when i'm lost in a book
I don't have to think
about my life

I'll get stuck in
a fantasy world
and never
have to come back
home again

one book
after another
I read, read, read

different places
different people
a new world

I start fresh
each time
I open up a new book

when i'm lost in a book
I am safe
no one can hurt me

I'm happy
when I'm lost
in a book
