We've been back since July, but I spent some time with the family in the south of France over the summer. We rented a house with another couple and took it easy.

A Couple More Years
I've got a couple more years on you, baby...that's all.
I've had more chances to fly and more places to fall.
And it ain't that I'm wiser...
It's only that I've spent more time with my back to the wall.
And I've picked up a couple more years on you, baby.. that's all.
I've walked a couple more roads than you, baby...that's all.
And I'm tired of runnin' while you're only learning to crawl.
And you're headin somewhere...
But I've been to somewhere... and found it was nowhere at all.
And I've picked up a couple of years on you baby... that's all.
Now sayin' goodbye, girl don't never come easy at all.
But you've got to fly 'cuz you're hearin' those young eagles call.
And someday when you're older, you'll smile at a man strong and tall.
And you'll say I've got a couple more years on you, baby... that's all.
I've got a couple more years on you baby... that's all.
You'll say I've had more chances to fly and more places to fall.
It ain't that I'm wiser...
It's only that I've spent more time with my back to the wall.
And I've picked up a couple more years on you baby... that's all.

Family Homes
everybody's mother is beautiful and brave
but my mother was little bit different
And was at the top of them
she was the bravest...the most beautiful..and the cleverest
we lived in a house
a very very ancient an and old house
ı ts plaster worn out and falling down
once a big and beautiful of our nomad ancestors
the camels of the long caravans used to rest in its garden
now the rooms of the house is rented to families in poverty
the kitchen...and laundry and washing were common for all
there was a in wall cupboard for bath in every room
in one of this rooms upstairs we lived
my mother..my brother and me
hiring it
they called these rooms faqmiliy homes
in turkish
in our homeland in turkey
in one of these rooms
lived shoe maker...rather a cobbler
with his son..daughter and wife
they were our beloved neighbours
he own the the room from his ancestors
the cobbler loved hunting
and had a peculı ar political opinion of his own
at downstairs
ther was a workman
came from his village
a very poor family indeed
wherever he found he worked
if he could
my mother used to help the family
she was found of this very very
one day ı heard the family went to germany
for food and living
my brother and me
were attending to a boarding school in istanbul
we used to come to our family home
in summer vacations
we were very happy in yhose days
with our room neighbours
my brother me and my mother
but theese poor happy did not last long
we grew up
my brother an archaeology professor
me a district governor
but we have never forgotten
those family houses
and the friendship and solı darı ty in them
we remember
those family houses from time to time
they are demolished now
high buildings are erected in their places
and my mother gone heaven in 14th dec ember 1994
her grave near a cross road waiting
ı always pray for her
ı feel she is always near me..guarding me
she was the bravest...most beauı tiful and the cleverest
ı have ever seen
life is not an easy plaything

My family lives there, so I come back sometimes between shows for a couple days. I get back a couple times a year. When I was 30 to 34 I was weirded out when I came back - you know, how your past gets away from you. It's grown so much.

Queer
First time he saw him was
A new york city cafe
Walked into that room
Things would really change
He had too much to drink
Guess he didnt think about his family
What went wrong
You could be his woman
You could be his man
You could be his queer
You could be his drug store slam
You could be his woman
And I hope your family understands
Second time he saw him was
The south of france
Some passion fashion disco
And a bastards dance
What went wrong
Or what went right
That night
Was it love?
You can be his woman
You can be his man
You can be his queer
You can be his drug store junkie slam
Real love doesnt come so easy when youre on your knees
Say please
Guess its just a figure of speech
Lifes got its lessons to teach
Just like fuzz on a peach
But be careful where you reach
Man I can only tell you
Sex is dangerous
(chorus)
Didnt know what was gettin into you

the smooth life of G.E.
Every picture is see is what you describe
as perfect. A new baby for the family. The mother
looks and smiles. The proud father begs to
carry the baby even for a few minutes.
There were pictures of the marriage.
Black and white, old as the ancestral house
where the big family once lived.
There is this garden full of perennial flowers
It is as though your life is nothing but Spring.
Nothing of the winter
Neither the autumn.
Summer is well spent. The grandchildren
are not sickly and grandpa is not drinking any liquor.
The house is well kept. Every object is in order.
The chickens have always the correct feeds.
The cow is fat and the turkeys are ready for Christmas.
Sometimes i think
I must be envious. This is not my family.
What i had was messy.
I need not tell anybody.
But on the other hand,
I think that something so ideal cannot be true.
Like a fairytale.
Like a story fit for kids...ending
with And they all live happily ever after.
That is not really true.
That is just an illusion.
I go for something that i have.
The tears wet my pockets.
The novel is too interesting.
The hero falls and dies.
The tragedy like the one written
By Sophocles
always give me that
catharsis.
Not yours. Not your family.
Not your success.

In fact, I was one of the few trusted people that Lucy allowed to play with their kids. I spent time at their summer home, rode horses at their ranch, and swam at their beach house. I even spent a Christmas with them at Palm Springs one year.

Isn't Simplicity Easy
If my words are read for content,
Why do some believe...
Other interpretations are meant?
As if there is something to define,
Between the lines.
As if there are clues,
Deep hidden in secret...
AND up my sleeve!
If my words are meant for content,
Why do some miss the obvious?
'Come on children.
Today we are taking a field trip.
Hold my hand! '
Why isn't simplicity easy for some to see?
And if I chose to write something abstract,
And detached from most lives...
I would receive standing ovations,
For the innovation of it all!
'And over there,
We see an interracial couple...
Doing 'interracial' things,
Interracially.
And over there...
We see some people closer to their pet animals,
Than to their own children, family and friends.
And way over there...
Can most of you see those folks being respectful?
That's how all of this should be done!
Any questions before we go back to take the quiz?
Good.
I am glad this has been worth time spent! '

The house in Panorama Street
I once had a stretch of red rocky ground
on the street side
of a rented house
in Panorama street in Rooihuiskraal.
The cars criss-crossed past
and the bank took it back
and rented it out
and nobody else
wanted to make that house
his own.
I decided to let flowers,
sprout out
of that rocky earth.
There were small carnations
that grew creeping over each other
with the most wonderful smell
and opened
in colours of white, red and purple blue.
There were geraniums
that easily grew out of cuttings
and become big strong bushes
that was covered with flowers.
Vygies crept all over the place
and just where you look
the rocky soil stood in flower
and I wanted to stop the bank
when I got two months notice
and other people
bought that house
with my beautiful garden.

Seans In The Sky
-daddy, when did we have no house?
-when?
-when, when did we have no house and we rented this house?
-in 1973, we didnt have this house, yet, thats when we bought this house
-oh!
-two years before you were born
-oh, and I just wasnt coming with you? to find this house?
-no, well you werent born yet. you were still in the sky.
-oh, and when I came back, was down here, what did I went in?
-a little, a little cardboard box. with a little blanket in, little teeny tiny
Teeny tiny little boy in a little tiny cardboard box. they used to have apples in it, hmm
You used to do this here.
-a apple box!
-well, a little cardboard box, you see. like they bring groceries in. and it was you instead of the groceries.

Summer Is
Summer is the breeze blowing through the grass in June
It is running carelessly through the meadows
It is taking off your shoes and feeling the grass tickle your toes
It is sitting on the porch at night sipping lemonade
Summer is the fireworks in July
It is going swimming at the pool with your closest friends
It is feeling nothing but happiness
It is the times you don’t want to forget
Summer is walking through the sand in August
It is the memories you have forever
It is what you never want to end
It is always what you look forward to in the winter
Summer ends September begins
Back to school
Back to cold weather
Back to wishing it were summer

Rent
(again... again... again... ooooh
(again... again... again... again... ...)
You dress me up, Im your puppet
You buy me things, I love it
You bring me food, I need it
You give me love, I feed it
And look at the two of us in sympathy
With everything we see
I never want anything, its easy
You buy whatever I need
But look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
You phone me in the evening on hearsay
And bought me caviar
You took me to a restaurant off broadway
To tell me who you are
We never-ever argue, we never calculate
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
Im your puppet
I love it
And look at the two of us in sympathy
And sometimes ecstasy
Words mean so little, and money less
When youre lying next to me
But look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) ooh, I love you, you pay my rent
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
Look at my hopes, look at my dreams
The currency weve spent
(ooooh) I love you, oh, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent
(ooooh) I love you, you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) you pay my rent (its easy, its so easy)
(ooooh) I love you (its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)
(its easy, its so easy)

Willie The Six Dick Pimp
The six dick pimp is just doing his job
Making sure that business isnt going under
Hes got the studs lined up in their stalls
Put a couple of bills in, you see six minutes of balls
Justine has got a plastic baggie on her dick
Cherrys got a couple prince alberts through her prick
And nobodys in number four and number six
Put a couple bills in, man, you really shouldnt miss it
I dont care how much time it takes
I dont care what kind of money he makes
I just want my honey back
Ill be on my way
Youre gonna gimme my boyfriend back
You thought you were smart
Thought I wouldnt leave home
You rented a car, and now youre halfway to idaho
You thought you were smart
Thought Id leave you alone
But you have no idea what kind of hell is coming down on you
I dont care how much time it takes
I dont care what kind of money he makes
I just want my honey back
Ill be on my way
Youre gonna gimme my boyfriend back
Youre gonna gimme my boyfriend back
The six dick pimp is just doing his job
Making sure that business isnt going under

Put a couple bills in, man, you really shouldnt miss it

July
A ghost is roaming through the building,
And shadows in the attic browse;
Persistently intent on mischief
A goblin roams about the house.
He gets into your way, he fusses,
You hear his footsteps overhead,
He tears the napkin off the table
And creeps in slippers to the bed.
With feet unwiped he rushes headlong
On gusts of draught into the hall
And whirls the curtain, like a dancer,
Towards the ceiling, up the wall.
Who is this silly mischief-maker,
This phantom and this double-face?
He is our guest, our summer lodger,
Who spends with us his holidays.
Our house is taken in possession
By him, while he enjoys a rest.
July, with summer air and thunder-
He is our temporary guest.
July, who scatters from his pockets
The fluff of blow-balls in a cloud,
Who enters through the open window,
Who chatters to himself aloud,
Unkempt, untidy, absent-minded,
Soaked through with smell of dill and rye,
With linden-blossom, grass and beet-leaves,
The meadow-scented month July.

The Forgoten Season Song
Summer
Is the forgoten season
I must say
Because that is the way that I feel
That has nothing to do with me being selfish
And I must understand that I don't own summer
God made summer and God is the owner of summer
When God is calling summer back
It is the time for summer to go back to God
And have a brek from the earth and from the people here on earth also
Because everybody needs a break from time to time

House Of Pain
(GillanBradford)
Have you ever had a woman that could make you crazy
Have you ever had a woman that could drive you mad
Have you ever had a woman give you so much trouble
And the best lovin' you ever had
My friends all say I'm losing it big time
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
Back to the house of pain
Have you ever had a rock that just keeps on rollin'
Have you ever seen a train comin' down the track
Have you ever jumped into the cold, cold never
And know there's no turning back
My friends all say I'm crazy, baby
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going home
Back to the house of pain
Have you ever had a weight that was much too heavy
Have you ever had a burden that was yours alone
Have you ever spent a night when you keep on waiting
Staring at the telephone
My friends all say I'm crazy, baby
But I know where I've got to go
I'm going back there again
I'm going back there again
I'm going back to my woman
Back to the house of pain
Then I run away
(chorus)
you'll always be my inspiration
I love you from afar

Mankind is cursed by its own law.
One couple ended their life,
without an issue.
The other couple spent in vain
To end without an issue.
How dear a birth is!
One was taken to ransom
for having impregnated a house maid.
A spinster aborted her foetus.
How unwanted the birth is!
Man made law and nature made law
are at logger heads.
