Even my aunt Joan, hopelessly sentimental about every member of our family, admitted that I was hideous.

From "Captured"
You never call me up
when I'm alone at night
What can this poor boy do
when he's hopelessly in love with you
So I will tell you now
This love is falling down
Just what more can I do
When I'm hopelessly in love with you
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love with you
So I will tell you this
Our love is in abyss
Just what more can I do
When I'm hopelessly in love with you
You never call me up
When I'm alone at night
What can a poor boy do
When he's hopelessly in love with you
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love with you
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
I'm hopelessly in love with you
Ooh bye bye baby

At My Aunt's Unveiling
AT MY AUNT’S UNVEILING
At my aunt’s unveiling
There were five of us
Only five
One was a woman
A friend of hers
Not the closest one
But someone who knew her
And wanted to be a friend.
Thousands of people had known my aunt
Hundreds had worked with or for her
She was born into a large family
But all of them were gone
Or out of it.
My sister and I were the relatives
My aunt had been very generous to us
And difficult for my sister
Who cared for her.
I had only been a taker all the years.
My aunt worked so hard for so many years
And she was ‘somebody’ in her world
There were five of us there
And the ceremony short
No minyan.
There was no sign of my aunt’s smile
Or her nervous energy or her superabundant love
‘Moll ‘as my mother called her
was not there.
I see her so clearly in my mind now
‘What does it all mean? ’ my father would ask my mother
after reading of the death of another person they knew
‘What does it all mean’
When my sister and I go
The memory of my aunt
Will be gone forever.

Sentimental
Last night
we showed how much we cared
but sadness filled the air
how it made us cry
as we waved goodbye
then you left me standing there
Last night
I came home on my own
and watched a movie show
and the saddest part
really broke my heart
as it made me miss you so
I get so sentimental
can't control the beat of my heart
I get so sentimental
sentimental when we're apart
Last night
I tried to let you know
how it hurts to see you go
and how I want you near
every time I hear
our love song on the radio
I get so sentimental
can't control the beat of my heart
I get so sentimental
sentimental when we're apart
Can't control the beat of my heart
I get so sentimental
sentimental when we're apart
How you made me cry
when we waved good bye
as it made me miss you so
I get so sentimental
can't control the beat of my heart
I get so sentimental
sentimental when we're apart
I get so sentimental
I get so sentimental
sentimental when we're apart
I get so sentimental
can't control the beat of my heart
I get so sentimental

Hopelessly Devoted To You
(john farrar)
Guess mine is not the first heart broken
My eyes are not the first to cry
Im not the first to know
Theres just no getting over you
You know Im just a fool whos willing
To sit around and wait for you
But, baby, cant you see
Theres nothing else for me to do?
Im hopelessly devoted to you
But now theres nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
Im out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
My head is saying, fool, forget him.
My heart is saying, dont let go.
Hold on till the end.
And thats what I intend to do
Im hopelessly devoted to you
But now theres nowhere to hide
Since you pushed my love aside
Im out of my head
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you
Hopelessly devoted to you

Family Possession
In your own world,
the world who don't know,
what its mean,
what its theme,
The way you think,
the way you look,
at a family member,
no one know,
what its thinking about.
Your mind should think positive,
pray to God it won't oppose.
No one in your family,
no one as your friends,
not even yourself,
knows that you in love with someone,
in your family tree,
more than just a family.
The way you're obsessed,
the way you empress,
on a family member,
that you're deeply in love with,
will lead you to emotional choas,
and confusion on that person,
and other family members,
who starts to realize.
Your wife will leave you,
in suffering passion,
leaving you as she,
sees you in a shameful matter.
Shame on you,
for exporting your love to someone else,
shame on you,
for not giving your attention to your wife,
shame on you,
for using incest movement.
The more you're obsessive,
the more worst it gets,
the more passion will suffer,
as your wife,
leaves you.

Saints
In our family, there were two saints,
my aunt and my grandmother.
But their lives were different.
My grandmother's was tranquil, even at the end.
She was like a person walking in calm water;
for some reason
the sea couldn't bring itself to hurt her.
When my aunt took the same path,
the waves broke over her, they attacked her,
which is how the Fates respond
to a true spiritual nature.
My grandmother was cautious, conservative:
that's why she escaped suffering.
My aunt's escaped nothing;
each time the sea retreats, someone she loves is taken away.
Still she won't experience
the sea as evil. To her, it is what it is:
where it touches land, it must turn to violence.

I have one and you have one.
Even if you don't like it and I don't like it
They are like you and like me but never the same
They are different and some times they understand
But most of the time they don't
and they leave you in the dark
thinking just thinking
Then their is just one Family member that understand
And they save you and show you back to the light
And help you stand on your own feet again
and hold you up and point you the way to go
Family, Family, Family
No one ever likes their family all the time
But no one hates their family all the time either.

Hopelessly
Astley/fisher
I walk the wire every night
I cant decide between wrong and right
Ive lost control over the thing I do
Cos Im hopelessly falling in love with you
Now the one who never took a chance
Becomes a victim of circumstance
Ive lost my way, now Im so confused
Cos Im hopelessly falling in love with you
All my dreams are far behind me
They dont matter any more
I dont care about the things I could lose
Cos Im hopelessly falling in love with you
Now the one who always played it safe
Becomes another whos lost his way
I cant believe it, though I know its true
Cos Im hopelessly falling in love with you
And all my dreams begin to blind me
And I was so confused
And I dont care about the things I could lose
Cos Im hopelessly falling in love with you
Im not gonna fight it, Im gonna choose
To hopelessly fall, oh yeah
You know Ill hopelessly fall in love, with you

Aunt Tabitha
THE YOUNG GIRL'S POEM
WHATEVER I do, and whatever I say,
Aunt Tabitha tells me that is n't the way;
When she was a girl (forty summers ago)
Aunt Tabitha tells me they never did so.
Dear aunt! If I only would take her advice!
But I like my own way, and I find it so nice
And besides, I forget half the things I am told;
But they all will come back to me--when I am old.
If a youth passes by, it may happen, no doubt,
He may chance to look in as I chance to look out;
She would never endure an impertinent stare,--
It is horrid, she says, and I must n't sit there.
A walk in the moonlight has pleasures, I own,
But it is n't quite safe to be walking alone;
So I take a lad's arm,--just for safety, you know,--
But Aunt Tabitha tells me they did n't do so.
How wicked we are, and how good they were then!
They kept at arm's length those detestable men;
What an era of virtue she lived in!--But stay--
Were the men all such rogues in Aunt Tabitha's day?
If the men were so wicked, I 'll ask my papa
How he dared to propose to my darling mamma;
Was he like the rest of them? Goodness! Who knows?
And what shall I say, if a wretch should propose?
I am thinking if Aunt knew so little of sin,
What a wonder Aunt Tabitha's aunt must have been!
And her grand-aunt--it scares me--how shockingly sad
That we girls of to-day are so frightfully bad!
A martyr will save us, and nothing else can;
Let me perish--to rescue some wretched young man!
Though when to the altar a victim I go,
Aunt Tabitha 'll tell me she never did so.

The Party's Over
You never call me up
When i'm alone at night.
What can this poor boy do,
When he's hopelessly in love with you?
So i will tell you now
This love is fallin' down.
Just what more can i do,
When i'm hopelessly in love with you?
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love with you.
So i will tell you this,
Our love is in a fix.
Just what more can i do.
When i'm hopelessly in love with you?
You never call me up
When i'm alone at night.
What can this poor boy do,
When he's hopelessly in love with you?
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love with you
Hopelessly in love
Hopelessly in love
I'm hopelessly in love with you
Oh, bye-bye, baby
The party's over,
I have gone away.
The party's over,
I have gone away.
The party's over,
I have gone away.
The party's over,
I have gone away.
Oo, the party's over,
I have gone away.

Sentimental Journey
Gonna take a sentimental journey
Gonna to set my heart at ease
Gonna take a sentimental journey
To renew old memories
Got my bag
I got my reservation
Spend each dime I could afford
Like a child in wild anticipation
Long to hear that all aboard
Seven, that's the time we leave at seven
I'll be waiting up for heaven
Counting every mile of railroad track
That takes me back
Never thought my heart could be so yearning
Why did I decide to roam
Gonna take a sentimental journey
Sentimental journey home
Sentimental journey

Is It The Way
A Jawan deployed to curb insurgency was abducted
and later on found brutally strangulated by the insurgents
The mutilated body was seen deserted in the desolate jungle path
He was the lone earning member of a poor farmer's family
On whose income the five member family was solely dependent
The body was brought to the native village in a cavalcade
for its last rites, the mother got fainted and went in to coma
When all others in the family screamed, the septuagenarian father
looked at the deceased body closely and questioned to the gathering
utterly blank, is it the way to raise revolution
and bring a change in the present political and social system?

Family Moments
Each family has moments,
Moments of happiness and emotion.
Moments that show love and kindness.
To each member of the family.
Some family moments are sad,
Some show hate that never lasts.
Then the truth shines and shows,
Each family moment is special after all.
Family moments may show happiness,
Happiness that lights up the earth.
Family Moments are amazing,
So don't forget your...
Family Moments.

Homage to a not unknown poet
Straightway - it's the tone.
Even; quiet but clear; is it writing, or is it talking?
As if to family: you're being filled in
on what happened yesterday or last week;
it's a continuation of what you last spoke of;
so no 'tone' about the tone;
you have a background of a lifetime's love
not to need to talk about;
you're friends even before you are family
if you know what I mean;
no family relationships hovering like ghosts
like your mother never quite stopped
sibling squabbling with your aunt;
it's harmless really - a silly evocation of childhood
and no-one else's concern;
so, good.
The no-tone tone: you're family,
so the voice expects you to be interested
enough to read
even if it's something to tell another family member later
whom it would concern more.
So no elaborations,
no false sentiment,
but a little dry comment
like a dry white wine perhaps,
they'll have the background for
because you're family.
That even tone - dull? No, not dull -
a quirky, individual voice
that tells a story deadpan
that makes you howl with laughter;
no, never dull..
The details: those events,
those small happinesses, small sweetnesses
(it sounds better in French -
petits bonheurs, petites douceurs) ,
the spoken words from open heart to open heart
which are the greatness of our
real, real life;
what's in the tidy drawers of the heart
when the house-clearers finally arrive.
And all around this family message to you who read,
called a poem,
quietly,
love.

My sisters, big tiff, little tiff, black head lory, red head lory, kim, betty.
My by marriage brothers, duck, and rick.
My by marriage sisters, amanda, stacey, and tammy.
My gram mothers, mama, and nana,
My grandfathers, Pap(Had 4 brothers all 5 of them fought in world war2) , Papa(also fought in world war2) .
My uncles and aunts, uncle david, aunt cathy, aunt carol, aunt edna, ect.
My family is just so huge I can't list them all
Imagine the dating situation.
The pickings get pretty slim.
Especially when my blood line goes to place I don't even know.
But eh I guess that how every family goes.

Hopelessly In Love
Sometimes we fall that little further
and become hopelessly in love.
Cupid shoots his arrow a little deeper
than he really intended to
and you fall head over heels
hopelessly in love
and there is nothing you can do.
Everywhere everything is singing
from the birds to the leaves on the trees.
Your heart beats rapidly
every time you see them pass by.
You’re hopelessly in love
with that special dream,
always hoping above hope
that you will catch their eye.
Your head is amongst the clouds
day after day.
Then they stop and smile at you,
you smile back and whispery say
“I am hopelessly in love with you.”

Endlessly
there's a part in me you'll never know
the only thing I'll never show
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
If the moment ever comes
It's plain to see it's trying to speak
cherished dreams forever asleep
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
if the moment ever comes
hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
hopelessly I'll give you everything
but I won't give you up
I won't let you down
and I won't leave you falling
but the moment never comes

The Twin with the Purple Heart
One of the girls had unblemished skin,
One had a purple mark,
But for the stain on her shoulder there
You couldn't tell them apart.
While Jane was born at quarter to three
Joan was at ten to four,
Jane was destined for wealth and fame,
While Joan would be always poor!
As Joan had cried, the mother died,
The bombers were over the town,
The hospital where the daughters lay
Was hit, came tumbling down.
An aunt took Jane, and headed north,
A nurse took Joan due west,
So one was raised in a simple home,
The other had only the best.
The Marchioness of Huntingdon,
The title was left to Jane,
Along with a hundred thousand pounds,
A manor with moat, and game,
She'd heard that she had a twin out there
But lost in the war at the start,
She'd looked in vain, but the daughter Jane
Was the twin with the purple heart.
Her aunt had said, it marked her out,
The first born, and the heir,
To claim the entire inheritance,
Her sister had no share,
So Jane had put Joan out of her mind,
Grew arrogant, and vain,
If Joan turned up on her doorstep she
Would say that she had no claim!
She fell in love with a nobleman,
Impoverished though he was,
And he had envied the fortune that
His forebears long had lost,
He'd been betrothed to a simple girl
But said to return the ring,
A Baron wed to a Marchioness
Was a more exciting thing!
They wed in the Spring in a stately home,
His spurned ex-love had cried,
She kept the newspaper cuttings of
The bridegroom and the bride,
She swore she'd get her revenge one day,
That this was not the end,
And then the Baron had called on her,
Asked her to be his friend!
It seemed that Jane had worn him down,
Had cut him to the quick,
By keeping the Baron penniless,
She ruled, she held the stick!
He said that he wished that he'd stuck with her,
Had kept her for his own,
'The likeness is quite remarkable! '
He said to the grieving Joan.
They schemed, and then they hatched a plot,
She bought some purple dye,
Tried it out on her shoulder, drew
A heart, and he told her why:
'For you could pass for the Baroness,
I can't tell you apart,
To me it's plain, you could take her name
As the twin with the purple heart! '
So Joan turned up on the doorstep then,
And Jane was taken aback!
'If I didn't know much better, I
Would swear you're the twin I lack.'
They talked and compared the lives they'd led,
And Jane became afraid,
'Of course, there is no inheritance,
But we need a downstairs maid! '
So Joan moved in, and lived downstairs,
The kitchen became her home,
The Baron, he ignored her, played
The game that he'd planned with Joan.
While Jane was autocratic,
Treated Joan as the family shame,
With nothing of sister love to spare
While the plotters played their game.
While Joan was inking her shoulder, Jane
Came marching into her room,
'You want to look like your sister, well,
That's sweet, ' and laughed in the gloom.
'Let's see how much we can fool him,
Wear my clothes and wait outside,
He's taking me on an outing,
Over there, by the riverside!
Joan dressed herself as Jane and went,
She thought it a joke supreme,
She'd be able to spend some time with him
While Jane thought it a scream,
The purple heart by her halter top
Reflected the summer sun,
While the Baron drove, not saying a word
As his world became undone.
He left her there in the water, drove
Back home, and he strode right in,
'My God, but you should have seen her! '
He began, as she walked to him.
He wet his finger and rubbed the heart,
Then paled, as she started to laugh,
'You can rub and rub 'til eternity,
I'm the twin with the purple heart! '

Adoption
Because I was a woman lone
And had of friends so few,
I made two little ones my own,
Whose parents no one knew;
Unwanted foundlings of the night,
Left at the convent door,
Whose tiny hands in piteous plight
Seemed to implore.
By Deed to them I gave my name,
And never will they know
That from the evil slums they came,
Two waifs of want and woe;
I fostered them with love and care
As if they were my own:
Now John, my son, is tall and fair,
And dark is Joan.
My boy's a member of the Bar,
My girl a nurse serene;
Yet when I think of what they are
And what they might have been,
With shuddering I glimpse a hell
Of black and bitter fruit . . .
Where John might be a criminal,
And Joan--a prostitute.
