Sonnet - Money
Let money be thy servant, not Master;
So, put thy wealth in use for mankind's sake;
Let progress come for fellowmen, faster;
What profits come if genuine, thou may take.
The money-needs of life on earth are small;
Money begets money and vices too;
But money cannot solve our problems all;
Let money not cause mis- conduct in you.
What use is money kept as coins and notes?
Banks lend their money so that they may grow;
Money cannot purchase all honest votes;
For money's sake, hardships, we undergo.
How many pairs of shoes, your feet will need?
Let excess money try to others feed.

Cleaereta: Daylight, water, the sun, the moon, the night, these things I purchase not with money;
the rest, whatever we wish to enjoy, we purchase on Grecian trust.

Money Isn’t the Answer
Can money give you ample sleep at night?
Can money bring you satiety you want?
Can money soothe the heart and mind aggrieved?
Can money resurrect a person dead?
Can money cause fertility in wombs?
Can money heal the wounds of minds and hearts?
Can money make up for one’s parents’ love?
Can money work a miracle you want?
Can money cure a cancer of grade four?
Can money bring joy to a childless pair?
Can money purchase your seat in heaven?
Can money solve all problems that you face?
There are so many things money can’t do;
Your trust in God and labor, matter too.

I come from a profession which has suffered greatly because of the lack of civility. Lawyers treat each other poorly and it has come home to haunt them. The public will not tolerate a lack of civility.

Ch 02 The Morals Of Dervishes Story 21
Loqman, being asked from whom he had learnt civility, replied: ‘From those who had no civility because what appeared to me unbecoming in them I refrained from doing.’
Not a word is said even in sport
Without an intelligent man taking advice thereby.
But if a hundred chapters of wisdom are read to a fool
All strike his ear merely as sport.
We Rarely See
In our busy world, we rarely see
what is right before our eyes.
The sky that leaks its teardrops
to cleanse and refresh the day.
The two hearts that beat as one
before one of them has to go away.
The patterns of a snowflake
on a wintry day.
The turning of each season
that passes on its way.
We rarely see the things we should
that help to shape our lives
as we are trapped on the treadmill
of earning money to pay our way.
One day we may notice them
when we step off the treadmill
letting the rest of the world
go on its merry way.
Then we will see what we rarely see
the life and love we are living.

Civility
Achieving civility through one's ability,
To be respectful...
Is a lesson listening children should learn,
As a goal of humanity.
But a doing of it,
Seems not in this existence to be permitted.
A future substituted with a digging up of its roots,
Is not a future that grows...
To bloom to peaks.
Without civility a society withers to become bleak.

The day, water, sun, moon, night - I do not have to purchase these things with money.
From this process has emerged a parallel process of translating traditional working and living values into a new political and economic power - a power increasingly based upon the strength of money and those material things money can purchase.

There Should Be Consideration Given
One can choose to read.
Rate to leave,
Or not!
That does not obligate.
Or necessitate demands to make.
Requests are made and extended.
And even in the doing of such deeds,
There should be consideration given...
To those who have preferences.
And often...
One who expresses a preference,
Is compliant to what that definition implies...
Something that is preferred.
Not suggested.
Or sought in random.
And rarely not solicited,
If this is not an action wished!
And still...
STILL,
Many just don't get it!

For Money
FOR MONEY
Man has become animal,
for money,
bloodshed,
\for money,
chaos of values,

mammonism,

for money,
retrogress,
for money,
destruction of nature,
for money,
war,
for money,
but for money
what not?

What Has Money Ever Fixed?
What has money ever fixed?
To stay that way and permanent?
I haven't seen it mend a heart.
Or put back together,
Broken or ruined relationships.
I've seen it divide and keep people apart.
I've seen it tossed to people alone in tears.
To let it drift away as they sit weeping.
Staring lost in emotional pain.
Wishing they did not exist.
As if this was a prerequisite to experience heaven.
What has money ever fixed?
Superficiality when pretensions saw that fit?
How about replicas of perfection?
Donated,
By those who wish to see themselves exalted.
Bronzed and worshipped.
The only thing that money does...
Is to prove it can be hoarded,
By those who steal it and inconvenience others.
And it can be used to manipulate with incompetence!
Other than that...
Money can not fix a thing!
However,
It may be seen to purchase another's loyalty!
Until it is no longer there to value.
But there to 'fix'?
It is not going to happen!
Although it will 'confuse'...
Not prioritize unaddressed issues.
