I was producing demos for a band that was called Physical Ed. Out of production of demos I went and did a few jam sessions with then in Northern California clubs, but I never actually toured with them.

What has happened is that to some degree they have taken an attitude where they don't listen to demos of diverse subject matters. They're looking for demos like the record the guy on the left just did.

Que Es La Que Hay?
(Noriega!)
(DJ Rafy Mercenario!)
Yo me voy a to'as
Si, me voy a todas
Vamos a darle duro castigo
Ven, prueba
Quien tiene babilla
Vamos, dile, Noriega
Me llaman "La Perra" porque soy una fiera
Yo no tengo miedo
Yo me tiro acapela
Contigo, con cualquiera
Mis socias, ellas piden
Que te luzcas pa' que se activen
Que te esmandes pa' que te azoten
Andamos con los cocorotes
Mis socias, ellas piden
Que te luzcas pa' que se activen
Que te esmandes pa' que te azoten

But I like to listen to demos. I like to hear the finished product. It's like listening to a song - I mean, a story. If you're going to sit here and tell me a story, I just like to listen. I don't want to make them up.

California Girls
Well east coast girls are hip
I really dig those styles they wear
And the southern girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when Im down there
The mid-west farmers daughters really make you feel alright
And the northern girls with the way they kiss
They keep their boyfriends warm at night
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california girls
The west coast has the sunshine
And the girls all get so tanned
I dig a french bikini on hawaii island
Dolls by a palm tree in the sand
I been all around this great big world
And I seen all kinds of girls
Yeah, but I couldnt wait to get back in the states
Back to the cutest girls in the world
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california
I wish they all could be california girls
I wish they all could be california
(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be california
(girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

Back 20 years ago, I was recording with Bruce Springsteen, and his producer called me and said I had to be in the studio the next day to finish the sessions, and I couldn't. I had to be in court, in California. All this took like 10 years out of my life.

(Go To) California
Blonde haired baby standing by the road
A pistol in her hand and talking on the phone
Said go to California (go to California)
Go to California (go to California)
Sidewalk gazing diamonds in the sky
Silent movie Gods are flashing in your eye
Said go to California (go to California)
Go to California (go to California)
Get up get out
Get inside the outside
Get up get out get in
Get up get out
Get inside the outside
Get up get out get in
Lon Chaney calling
Spelling out your name
Where everybody's different
But they're all the same
Yeah go to California (go to California)
Go to California (go to California)
You are perfect you are insane
We love to watch you break from the pain
Yeah go to California (go to California)
Go to California (go to California)
Get up get out
Get inside the outside
Get up get out get in
Get up get out
Get inside the outside
Get up get out get in
Bump and grind
Bump and grind
Bump and grind
Bump and grind
Bump and grind
Bump and grind
Hit the lights and
Strip down on the floor
Everybody hates you
But they want some more
Yeah go to California (go to California)
Go to California (go to California)
Get up get out
Get inside the outside
Get up get out get in
Get up get out
Get inside the outside

Actually, there was another band where we were three girls, around '84 when I met John Zorn, called Sunset Chorus. It was just bass and drums and guitar- we didn't make any records but we played a lot of different clubs in New York.
Boom
I never knew that a kid like me
Could take his mic around the world and flash the big s.d.
And rock the masses, from madrid to calabassas
Tijuana, mexico, bootleg demos in tokyo
They know me though, cause I be puttin in work
Commit my life to rebirth, well respected, cause thats my word
Im sure you heard, about a new sound going around
She might have left my hood, but she was born in my town
We rep. the south, so what you talking about
Im not running off my mouth, I know this without a doubt
cause if you know these streets, then these streets know you
When its time to handle business, then you know what to do
Me and my crew, we stay true, old skool or new
Many were called, but the chosen are few
We rise to the top, what you want? just in case you forgot
Rush the stage, grab my mic, show me what you got
B-section:
You didnt know, thought we was new on the scene
Well, its alright! its alright!
I know you know, I see you smiling at me
Well, its alright! its alright!
Chorus:
Boom! here comes the boom!
Ready or not, here comes the boys from the south
Boom! here comes the boom!
How you like me now?
Bridge:
Is that all you got?
Ill take your best shot.
