Cassandra Knew

I’m waiting though impatiently
but don’t know what I’m waiting for.
A high state of expectancy.
I’ve often felt like this before.

I think I am a sensitive
who’s blessed or cursed with second sight.
I hope for something positive.

But I foresee a tragedy.
Something that is yet to be.

Heavy responsibility

Though I may know I cannot say
who would believe me anyway?

I sometimes wish that I was blind
to pictures forming in my mind
but now I have become resigned.

To waiting for the axe to fall
confirming fears which torture me.
Alas I have no choice at all
I cannot choose what I foresee.

Thermopylae

Honour to those who in their lives
are committed and guard their Thermopylae.
Never stirring from duty;
just and upright in all their deeds,
but with pity and compassion too;
generous whenever they are rich, and when
they are poor, again a little generous,
again helping as much as they are able;
always speaking the truth,
but without rancor for those who lie.

And they merit greater honor
when the foresee (and many do foresee)
that Ephialtes will finally appear,
and in the end the Medes will go through.

The Gypsy

The gypsy knew in advance
Our two lives star-crossed by night
We said farewell to her and then
from that deep well Hope began
Love heavy a performing bear
Danced upright when we wanted
And the blue bird lost his plumes
And the beggars lost their Ave
We knew quite well that we were damned
But hope of love in the street
Made us think hand in hand
Of what the Gypsy did foresee

The Magic

The magic had failed just then,
Training a hand to a weapon;
The cocked weapon was itself,
The magical weapon was itself.

He needed to obey the weapon,
You dress and bind your wrists,
But the sword snaps in them,
Falling apart and then the magic enters!

A place for your hands has no choice,
What are you now that magic appeared?
There is no escape, no where to provide
And foresee to exact the retribution.

The person also ordered his chest
To expand and release the lungs,
For his magical tricks could foresee
Why he was a magician.

Can We See The Future Today? [Part 1]

Many say it is fairly possible to foresee the future
Others say, probabilities can be computed
Some say, it is all a guessing game
Few say, why bother – what will be, will surely be

From time immemorial, human beings have
wondered what the future has in stock
Many have used various methods to peep into the future
Some of these methods include astrology, oneiromancy,
chiromancy, numerology, geomancy, crystal gazing,
tarot cards, clairvoyance, oracles, necromancy,
I ching, feng shui, rune casting and many more

All these methods are known by several people as
divination, fortune-telling, soothsaying and prophesy

Numerous people today are still using astrology to
predict, foresee and to forecast the future
Based on the time, place and day of birth, astrology can be
used to explore who we are, our potentials and our strengths
How accurate is astrology as a tool to foresee the future?
Some say, it depends on the astrologer

Oneiromancy is another method that has been used
to peep and foresee the future on this earth
Oneiromancy is the use of dreams to interpret the future
The future can sometimes be revealed in dreams
We all remember the dreams Jacob, Joseph, Daniel,
Paul and many more in the Bible
How precise are dreams to foresee the future?
The accuracy of dreams depends on individuals

Some have peeped into the future through chiromancy
otherwise called palmistry, which in simplistic terms – means
the reading of the lines on our right and left palms
The lines on our palms are said to contain secrets
about us from our cradle to our grave
How exact are palm-lines in revealing
our future hopes and potentials
This depends on the professionalism of the palm-reader

Reaching

Looking upward toward the sky
I cannot envision the sun
On this day that I foresee no destiny-
Branches of trees overshadow and
In spite of the clouds and these branches that
Block my view of the morning's sky-
I can feel that I am being watched-

Looking toward the sky, I wonder if it is
God's eyes that are upon me-
Even though I have never believed in a deity-
I can feel power of threatening glances.
Every move I make, every word I speak-
In spite of the splendor and magnificence others have deemed this world to be
I still foresee no destiny-

Reaching toward the sky,
I feel as if I am walking a pathway without an end-
Listening to voices rising from nowhere-or are they coming from inside of my mind?
As the rain has begun to fall, I wonder, shall it wash away any hopes I once had-
Hopes for a brighter future?

In a moment of contemplation I recall my mother joyfully singing in the rain, while
I now foresee a silver gate opening before me-although opening to an unfamiliar place-
I also recall my mother saying "Your life is what you make of it"
Therefore I begin to see that the whole world ahead is my destiny-

I begin singing in the rain myself of the magnificence of these woodlands, and of
The choices I have begun to see that this world has in store for me-
I still cannot envision the sun but I feel an upsurge of hope break open from within and
Hope is the torch that shall enlighten my path towards freedom- as
The sun creeps up on the horizon as it rises above mountains of clarity….

Magic Mind

Words and music by maurice white, verdine white, fred white, larry dunn, philip bailey & al mckay
Hey, we heard the news that someones crying the blues
cause words still go unsaid as hungry minds are never fed
Take a chance as you dance in romance
In a trance to advance and expand
Got a dime and a rhyme brilliant mind
Still inclined in your prime to design
For mans great strength to meet another trembling hearts defeat
Is read between the lines when change of mind is hard to find
The blossoms that you reap from binding challenges complete
And wisdoms gentle rain imensely crowns your brain
Take a chance as you dance in romance
In a trance to advance and expand
Moving soon upper room
Paid your dues cause youre through feelin blue
Take a chance as you dance in romance
In a trance to advance and expand
Got a dime and a rhyme brilliant mind
Still inclined in your prime to design
Moving soon upper room
Paid your dues cause youre through feelin blue

Sens Her Pretense

She never spells it out
When she falls in love
As she cannot spill it out.
You have to smell it out.
She likes your advance
Without being in advance.
The silence is a license.
She impersonates a sleep walker.
When she does so you slip with her.
Her moves are tacit.
Pretext is her whip.
Handle her; you will conquer.

Facing Fear

I found myself on a dusky, dark street.
I found myself afraid of what I might meet.
But all I met was fear of the unknown.
I feared the thought that I was alone.

The fear was palpable and chilled my bones.
There were dark and sinister undertones
to what I pictured would happen to me.
What it was I couldn't foresee.

What I was doing here I realized now.
I was here to overcome fear somehow.
I looked up and saw the moon in my view,
the same old moon from the streets I knew.

With that in mind I ventured ahead
and left that place that brought me dread.
The mind can conjure up all kinds of things
and when it does, oh the terror it brings.
