I always had this non-stop drive. I had to keep sending stories out and every once in awhile I'd get something accepted or get the little trickle of positive feedback.

That Is Not Positive Feedback
We've been extremely successful,
In isolating ourselves...
With a creation of a lifestyle,
That best reflects 'our' values and traditions.
AND...
Returning back to standards 'we' believe in!
Ensuring that it stays and remains that way.
Now that we have been undoubtedly successful,
In removing certain elements...
From our interpretation of 'success'.
With a separatist menatality!
Can anyone here 'volunteer'...
WHY does there seem to remain with us,
Conflict and undenied confusion? !
'Yes...
I would like to respond.'
That's great.
Someone with positive feedback.
By all means...
Let us hear your recommendations and suggestions.
'Perhaps...
And I say this only because I want us 'all' to comprehend.'
Yes, yes, yes.
Take your time...
It is wonderful to have the young participating,
In our decision making process for a change.
I apologize...
Continue.
'Perhaps...
T he real reason 'why' we are still bombarded,
With an affliction of chaos, conflict and indifference...
Is,
Just 'maybe' WE are the cause of it!
With our unreasonable stubbornness.
And a total lack of a willingness to listen! '
Young man...
That is 'not' positive feedback at all!
And...
Let me make this very clear.
Only those caring to share POSITIVE feedback,
Will be given the floor.
Sit down
Anyone else?
With 'positive' feedback?

I've had a lot of very positive feedback about those stories, and seem to have struck upon something that most people feel. I can also tap dance, and don't know many other authors who can.
Sometimes you're not even sure which of your stories were failures. There are things I've written that I thought were complete catastrophes when I finished with them that have gone on to generate some of my most positive feedback.
Can We Just Stop & Talk Awhile
(jose mari chan)
Fancy meeting you alone in the crowd
Couldn't help but notice your smile
While everybody else around us is going about
Can we just stop and talk awhile?
I've been often told our world's growing old
And that friends are harder to find
Do tell me more about yourself
We could share a thought or two
Now who would mind?
Maybe then we could go for a ride
Drive down to the countryside
Get away from the gray
And frenzied hurly-burly of the city life
Early yet to say what lies ahead
It's the first day of the rest of our lives
Can we just stop and talk awhile
Get to know each other
Who are we to know?
Love could be waiting at the end
'round that bend and so
Let's stop and talk awhile
Maybe then we could go for a ride
Drive down to the countryside
Get away from the gray
And frenzied hurly-burly of the city life
Early yet to say what lies ahead
It's the first day of the rest of our lives
Can we just stop and talk awhile
Get to know each other
Who are we to know?
Love could be waiting at the end
'round that bend and so
Let's stop and talk awhile
Let's stop and talk awhile
Let's stop and talk awhile
Let's stop and talk awhile

I've received a lot of positive feedback from both the secular and Christian markets. People seem to be receiving it with open arms and hearts, and are interested in the stories I want to share about my relationship with God and my faith.

Keep Me In Your Heart For Awhile
Keep me in your heart for awhile
When you think of me
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As I am in your dreams
Keep me in your heart for awhile
While you say goodbye
Keep me in your heart for awhile
One more time say I love you
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As you watch the seasons change
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Living like there is no tomorrow
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As you tell stories about me
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Remember all the times I took your breath away
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As you sleep I am lying next to you
Keep me in your heart for awhile
When you cry a tear for me
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As I watch over you
Being your Guardian Angel
Keep me in your heart for awhile
As you love me like I will always love you
Keep me in your heart for awhile

A Trickle of Happiness
For you, I give a smile,
and hope that once in awhile
you might turn your face my way,
and give me a trickle of happiness.
Only the slight grin you flash,
and so sad I am when it's pass
but I always know that tomorrow
will bring another trickle of happiness.
For I know that through the winter comes the birds
to sing of sweet melodic words
to express how the small flowers
grant them that trickle of happiness.

Feedback Out On Highway 101
Feedback
Out on highway 101.
Feedback
Out on highway 101.
Cruisin easy,
And your favorite dj
Havin fun.
Look out, stand back,
Theres a fool out on the road.
Look out,
Stand back,
Theres a fool out on the road.
Had one too many drinks
And he just may overload.
Stand back.
Night time
Cruisin long,
Cruisin along.
Night time cruisin,
Night time cruisin along.
You dont see the setting sun
[even fore the mornin come ? ? ].
Feedback,
Feedback
Out on
Highway 101.
Feedback,
Feedback, feedback,
Feedback
Out on highway 101.
Cruisin easy and your
Favorite dj is
Havin fun.

Out on highway,
Highway 101.

That Which I Do Not Know
How do I know what I know?
I've accepted faith as my reward,
For understanding.
I've accepted the experience of stumbling...
And not allow defeat,
To stop an ability I have to get back on my feet!
I've accepted humiliation to assist in my self evaluation.
I've accepted criticsms of all kinds.
I've accepted heartbreak to mend any bitterness.
With a forgiveness that God will defend...
And correct misdeeds done!
How do I know what I know?
I know I did not bleed without pain!
I know I did not recover from wounds alone.
I know I don't have all the answers!
And that was the beginning...
Of knowing something I could not debate.
It is what it is.
And could not be what it is not!
How do I know what I know?
That which I do not know...
I do not!
And I will admit,
I am prepared to learn.
'That' I choose not to stop!
I am not living my life to hide from it!
Or deny what it has to offer.
I do observe some fantasizing pain.
I am not that advanced!

Sending Me Angels
(frankie miller/ jerry lynn williams)
Producer for bonnie: gene capel
I walked down to the river
Stood on the shore
Seems like the devils always
Tryin to get in my door
Just when I thought
I couldnt take anymore
You come again, my friend
He keeps sending me angels
From up on high
He keeps sending me angels
Teach me to fly
He keeps sending me angels
Sweet and true
He keeps sending me angels
Just like you
As I stand on this mountain
Face to the wind
Amazed by the number of times
You go and sin
The countless enemies
That couldve been friends
Oh here he comes again
*he keeps sending me angels
Here they come a flyin
He keeps sending me angels
To keep me from cryin
(he keeps) sending me angels
So Ill never he blue
He keeps sending me angels
Just like you
He keeps sending me angels
From up on high
He keeps sending me angels
Teach me to fly
He keeps sending me angels
So Ill never be blue
He keeps sending me angels
Lust like you
Some say that its comin
Say its already here
But love is among us
Through the joy and the fear
When I look in your eyes
Everything is so clear
My friend, here it comes again
(*repeat)
** he keeps sending me angels
From up on high
He keeps sending me angels
To teach me to fly
He keeps sending me angels
Sweet and true
(he keeps) sending me angels
(* *repeat)
Sending me angels
Here they come a flyin
Sending me angels
Keep me from cryin
Sending me angels
So Ill never be blue
Sending me angels...

Goodbye to purple covered Jacaranda trees
Goodbye to purple covered Jacaranda trees
which line the streets
and the great laagered fort on the hill
telling stories of times past,
the university on the knoll
next to which I once lived
waving with buildings and towers
sending its greetings into the sky
while I drive away fast
and the motorbike’s wheels sings whispering
do not look back
and its engine howls its cry against the wind
weeping instead of me
while I drive away from the city
that I love and where I cannot stay.
The bike flashes on in a blur
passing trucks and cars
racing on the highway
as if searching for the sun
and my heart is lost
and pain rips through me
with the parting from you
while I drive away
and I cannot understand
the seasons of the heart
and it is goodbye
to you too.

Shockwaves
(bill wray/diana ross/mark cawley)
Bloodpressures rising
Cant catch my breath
Everytime I hear footsteps coming nearer
These strange vibrations
I cant resist
The feeling scares me so
I lose control
My head is shaking
And my knees are weak
I feel the ground moving under me
Youre sending
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
Youre sending
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
This strong sensation
Is burning in me
Everytime I hear you whisper in my ear
Got to have hold of my heart
Like gravity I cant try to hide it
No way to fight it
My hands are shaking
And my knees are weak
I feel the ground moving under me
Youre sending
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
Youre sending
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
Youre sending
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
Youre sending me
Youre sending me shockwaves, shockwaves
Heaven knows I tried
To keep my sanity
But mama never told me
What a man like you could do to me
Hey shockwaves
Hey shockwaves
Youre sending, youre sending me shockwaves
Youre sending, youre sending me shockwaves
Youre sending, youre sending me shockwaves
Youre sending, youre sending me shockwaves

So keep on pushin' for em

Dallas
By: roger bartlett

If you ever get the chance to go to dallas
Take it from me pass it by
cause youll only sing the blues down in dallas
Take it from me dont go and cry
Chorus:
And Im leavin this town as soon as I can
Gonna stop off for awhile and see my woman
People do you wrong down in dallas
I know well theyve done it to me
Stealin all your bread, theyre so callous
I know well just look and see
Chorus:
Oh, and Im leavin this town as soon as I can
Gonna stop off for awhile and see my woman
And people like me just cant be free
The promo man wont let us be-ee
If the people who knew could get away
Im real sure theyd leave today
(instrumental)
Yeah, now come on down and lose your mental balance
Look at me half crazy now
Oh, talkin to chairs is strange and I know it
Look at me Im doin it know
Chorus:
Yeah, and Im leavin this town as soon as I can
Gonna stop off for awhile and see my woman
Yeah, leavin this town as soon as I can
Gonna stop off for awhile and see my woman

Gonna stop off for awhile and see my woman
