Because of my political views, I've been targeted as a lightning rod, someone who's too far out there.

I have also been attacked by my opponents as someone seeking to purge university faculties of leftist professors. This is false. The first provision of the Academic Bill of Rights is that no professor should be hired or fired because of his or her political views. I have never myself called for the firing of any professor for his or her political views, nor would I.

It's essential not to have an ideology, not to be a member of a political party. While the writer can have certain political views, he has to be careful not to have his hands tied.

To Fully Live!
freedom is not white,
it is not Christian,
it is neither liberal nor conservative....
not bound by capitalistic values,
it is not served at gunpoint
to those with differing views...
it is all colors, all faiths,
openminded and intelligent,
beyond all political views;
places human need in front of profit,
and celebrates diversity!
it is the basic right
of the living to fully live!

Children of Our Age
We are children of our age,
it's a political age.
All day long, all through the night,
all affairs--yours, ours, theirs--
are political affairs.
Whether you like it or not,
your genes have a political past,
your skin, a political cast,
your eyes, a political slant.
Whatever you say reverberates,
whatever you don't say speaks for itself.
So either way you're talking politics.
Even when you take to the woods,
you're taking political steps
on political grounds.
Apolitical poems are also political,
and above us shines a moon
no longer purely lunar.
To be or not to be, that is the question.
And though it troubles the digestion
it's a question, as always, of politics.
To acquire a political meaning
you don't even have to be human.
Raw material will do,
or protein feed, or crude oil,
or a conference table whose shape
was quarreled over for months;
Should we arbitrate life and death
at a round table or a square one?
Meanwhile, people perished,
animals died,
houses burned,
and the fields ran wild
just as in times immemorial
and less political.

The Lightning
I am lightning
A light here then gone
I am lightning
A flash quick and strong
I am lightning
My life to short to tell
I am lightning
The ground scorched where I fell
I am lightning
I never strike in twos
I am lightning
I shatter your light's fuse
I am lightning
Destroying what I touch
I am lightning
And I live as such
A storm has come upon me
The lightning I am strong
The rain falls around me
Makes my arc trails long
I fall from the heavens
Crashing to the earth
Though your call it beckons
I cannot stay by hearth
Though the fire warms me
I'm gone to fast to tell
Though the air, it fights me
I ring true the bell
This ground I've hit before
If not here then there
But it is the same ground
If not the same exchange
The moment I can stand
I'm tossed back to the sky
On the ground I'll never be
Not till the day I die

In No Mood To Be Seduced
It just seems too remote.
Too unlikely and distant...
That a sweet face could be pasted,
On one who manipulates.
With a squeezing done...
That could drip one's blood.
It seems cold as ice,
Some would use words to describe...
One with a gentle warm smile,
And inviting eyes.
Could also be the one that deceives.
Lies.
And could bury a hatchet into someone's back.
But...
Unfortunately,
There are those who can be...
Just like that.
'Oh no.
You can stay if you want to but I'm leaving.'
~Why do you want to leave so soon.?
We just got here.~
'I am in no mood to be seduced.
After the sipping of wine...
To find I've been played.'
~I don't know who made you feel you are that 'HOT'.
You're not.
If you're leaving...go!
I came to stay.~
'Be careful.
You have already been targeted.'
~Be careful.
You have already been targeted.
LOL...
You are just too much.~

Summer And Lightning
I have waited
For your love
For so long
How do I go on?
I have told you
So many times
It's no good
You're treating me so wrong
Out there so far away
Above the sky will say
For you
Here it comes again
It's all around me
It must be magic
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I can see you
In my mind
The lost time
That you're saving
I could reach out
And touch you
What can I do?
The sun ain't shining
Out there so far away
Above the sky will say
For you
Only for you
Here it comes again (summer and lightning)
It's all around me (summer and lightning)
It must be magic (summer and lightning)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Here it comes again
Here it comes again (summer and lightning)
It's all around me (summer and lightning)
It must be magic (summer and lightning)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Here it comes again (summer and lightning)
I can feel it (summer and lightning)
It's all around me (summer and lightning)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
