As costs mount, in lives and dollars, it is natural to second guess, but one lesson I hope we have learned is that the U.S. cannot go it alone in a policy that leaves American troops taking all the risk and American taxpayers paying all of the costs.

The FBI has considerably extended
the list of those whose mental health
makes it unwise for them to purchase guns…
that means, I guess, those whose state
was discovered before they bought
their first, or second, or fourteenth gun..
but what of those whose mental health
is dangerously unbalanced, after
they buy their guns and use them?
who graduate enthusiastically
from air-rifles aimed at beer cans,
to planning how to gun down
their teachers or their fellow students?
then there are those who fight heroically
throughout a campaign; but return,
as veterans from Vietnam, to a ruined mental health?
or – let’s be quite contentious here –
suppose a whole people, let’s say Texans
or Republicans, or Afghans, or some extremist sect,
want to fight each other; and
an impartial expert called in by
the United Nations (uh?) declares
that neither side are fit in mental health
to buy, or to be issued, any guns? …

War not really sure what Im fighting for
But what I know is I want war no more
We fight and we fight and we fight

Casualty of abuse
I was a casualty of abuse.
I was a victim of rape.
I was hurt more than once.
God I hate you I hate you all.
All you said is it was a game.
The only one who had the fun was you.
I know what its like to hate.
Becuase I sure as hell hate you.
I try not to be that casualty any more.

My Simple Award
I was informed just lately

Should This Disgust
Those who fought and defended then...
Received no respect.
Those young and patriotic...
Came home to neglect.
Homeless and hungry,
And left on streets.
With little of nothing to eat.
To see themselves kicked to the curb...
By those who treat them,
With disdain when the greet.
Embittered they are!
And should they be?
Veterans of war and conflict.
Who have proven their bravery.
Should this disgust the ones,
Who empathize their rights?
Or should those men and women,
Ignore their plight?
Since no one seems to want to defend or fight,
To see them honored day and night as deserved!

American Soldier
When I say... 'I am an American Soldier'
I'm not shouting I'm better than you.
I'm whispering, I was a boy, and now
find myself a man.
When I say... 'I am an American
Soldier'
I speak not only of this with pride
I'm also confessing that I stumble,
make mistakes,
And need competent leadership to
help guide me,
So I in turn,
can be a competent leader.
When I say... 'I am an American

I'm not trying to be strong,
I'm professing that I am weak and
need the strength of my peers and
country,
To help carry me on.

I'm not bragging of past successes
I'm admitting I have failed in the past

My flaws are far too visible
