I went to visit my father to tell him that I was going to go to college and become an architect - that was my dream. I was like, yeah I graduated from school, but it's not like you showed up for that. But all he was worried about is whether or not I wanted money from him.

To Be A Star

I was seventeen, ou were working for
Matthew and son,
(the) beatles me the queen, and i wrote
I'm gonna get me a gun, yeah, yeah
It was like a dream in the star machine,
Oh, no, izitso, izitso?
I never wanted to be a star, i never wanted
To travel far
I only wanted a little bit of love
So i could put a little love in my heart
I never wanted to be la-de-da, go to parties
'avec le bourgeois'
I only wanted to sing my song well,
So i could ring a small bell in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I was on the road, sleeping between lorry
Lights, oh no
Stone-drunk and cold, heading into a bad
Night, yeah, yeah
Just another bean in the star machine, hi ho,
Here i go, here i go
I never wanted to be a star buy my mum a
Ferrari car
I only wanted to run my own race,
So i could win a small place in your heart
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Nature found a way, it picked me up off the
Dark side, yeah, yeah
Showed me another day, it made me sing
'i think i see the light'
Not another bean in the star machine, oh no,
This time i won't go
I never wanted to be a star, i never wanted to travel far
I only wanted a little bit of love
So i could put a little love in my heart.

My Father's Legacy To Me

MY FATHER'S LEGACY
mELVIN BANGGOLLAY

Everyone of us when gone has a legacy
That people remember in one's memory
Just like my Father who joined the Almighty
Leave me a token of his great personality.

My father sacrificed for my dear education
In spite of poverty he gave all the provision
I need to finish my degree and profession
Without any complain or simple hesitation

My father never wanted us to walk his way
Only to finished even just a lowest degree
For he didn't want us to suffer so heavily
The burden of being a child of great poverty.

My father had to work as a student janitor
Cleaning, sweeping and doing other chore
In exchange for a free tuition from the school
Where he graduated with citation and honor.

He showed that poverty is not a malady
When we are truly convicted to be somebody
When we desire to make life better everyday
and when we dream to have a better destiny.

He taught me to be always humble to others
Specially before God who protect us from curse
For those who humble themselves have reward
Not maybe in our earthly world but there above.

New Day

What we gon' do right now is go back, way back
Bring in the groove
I wanna dedicate this to those who never made it
>From kindergarten to the 12th I never graduated
Yo but college wasn't for some of us
So we joined the service
I seen a kid get murdered in Nam listening to Elvis
But on the out looking in
Things stay the same
But at the same vein
Looking out the whole world's changed
So keep your head up
Don't get caught up in the fast bucks
And find your mom crying while your lying in a black tux
Trust me
We don't need no education says a young man
Sitting in class (sitting in class)
School is out 3 o'clock on the dot
He had beef with some kids and he got shot, oh Lord
Turn on the television
I'm watching Martin Luther King who had a dream, oh
So take this dream and apply it to your life
Even though we know the ghetto's rough
But we got to
1 - Keep your head up
(Uh keep your head up)
Cause a new day will come
(Uh-huh, uh-huh)
And look towards the sun
(Look towards the sun)
Even when the darkness shall come
(Ooh) It's real son
(Ooh) To my people living Life it's real son
I turn the page
What's the news today
People getting fired, walking on a wire
Looting on the streets cause the kid's gotta eat
Oh, oh turn around and look at the hour glass
I gotta get it straight
Before it's too late
Cause I don't wanna be behind that gates
Keep your head up
(Uh keep your head up)
Cause a new day will come
(Uh-huh, uh-huh)
And look towards the sun
Even when the darkness shall come
2 - All my people in the back
Mama, mama
You know you raised me with no father figure
(Didn't ya)
I wanna take this time to thank you
For giving me life, oh yeah
Mama, mama
You know you raised me with no father figure
(Didn't ya)
I wanna take this time to thank you
Even though I'm doing Life
Alright
(Ooh) It's real son, alright
(Ooh) Can't flee
(Ooh)All my people doing time
(Ooh)People in the back playing cards
(Ooh)Don't lose your money yeah
Yeah tell them don't lose your money, c'mon, c'mon
Repeat 1
Repeat 2
(Ooh) For my people doing time (alright)
(Ooh) For my people doing time (alright)

Looking For Clues

(robert palmer)
Its crazy but Im frightened by the sound of the telephone, oh yeah
Im worried that the caller might have awful news, oh my
Who knows these days where on earth the money goes, oh yeah
No doubt we could put it to a better use, oh my
You keep insisting that nobody showed you how to keep relationships, oh yeah
Your daddy made a real good try, oh my
You said you knew all along
We could work it out, oh yeah
Do you have to make a fuss everytime we fly
Oh Im looking for clues
I have to make an effort now I just to be serious, oh yeah
Nobodys gonna give you the benefit of the doubt, oh my
Everytime I pick a paper up its harder to believe the news, oh yeah
Im gonna have to shake it up and twist and shout, oh my
You cant do nothing that you dont put your mind to, oh yeah
I suspected all along you were a dream come true, oh my
Im never in the dark cause my heart keeps me well informed, oh yeah
Im convinced that theres a way of getting through to you
Ooh Im looking for clues
Its crazy but Im frightened by the sound of relationships, oh yeah
I swear we could put it to a better use, oh my
Do hurry baby youve forgotten how to catch a night groove, oh yeah
You told all the callers you were not amused oh Im looking for clues
You keep insisting that nobody showed you how to use a telephone, oh yeah
Nobodys gonna give you a second chance, oh my
I dont have to make an effort now to find out where the money goes, oh yeah
Do you have to make a fuss everytime we dance
Ooh Im looking for clues
Do ya do ya do ya do ya
Ooh Im looking for clues
Ooh Im looking for clues

Poverty of Families

All they ever think about is how to survive their struggle,
They best be laborin', livin' on with their hustle.
Best be workin' overtime, best be feeding my child,
Best to hand it to the government, than acting all wild.

That's because that's how things work around here,
You have to follow the system cause' you're one useless gear.
But truth be told you just followin' your peers,
to the depths of anger, sadness, and despair.

You don't speak for yourself, so you just play follow the leader,
You just follow blindly and you ain't makin' money either.
Plus your daughter's hungry, who the hell is gon' feed her?
and then you left her for nothing, "Daddy I need ya! "

"Where are you daddy? When I need you the most?
You were there when life's good now you're gone like a ghost"
They had everything before and they so proud that they boast,
But then daddy lost his job, and that's what hurts the most.

So, mommy left daddy and daddy left me,
Then daddy came back and said that he's got me,
But all that sweety talk was gone and now he's doin' bad deeds,
Cause daddy is hustlin' now sellin' crack rocks and weed.

But he said it's for the better, life before is coming back now,
And daddy's makin' lot of money, but gettin' close with bad crowds,
I'm worried for daddy, cause he got death threats now,
But it all ended with the worst of all sounds.

4 gunshots to his body and 2 in his head,
They really made sure that my daddy's is dead,
But daddy really is, and now I'm really sad.
"Take care of yourself, honey." were the last words he said.

Now I'm cryin' an' cryin' and I feel like I'm dyin'.
I want to kill myself now but I don't feel like tryin'.
A mysterious force is pulling me to my goals,
The path of vengeance, to kill all my father's foes.

But then I talked to the man, that my dad talked to the most,
I talked to God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost.
I found it easy to talked to them, the line wasn't closed,
He taught me to live rather than go with the flow.

Soon I graduated college with the help of my father's money,
The money he earned while he still had a decent job,
I used to think we were broke then but the story is quite funny,
While he was working with high pay, he wasn't a slob.

Mommy went away because he wouldn't use the money he earned,
He saved money for my college and hid it an urn.
He always said to open it when I graduate high school,
And he did tell me that its the ash of granpa mike too.

So, the money in the urn could be used to save the day,
The day dad lost his job and the bills he couldn't pay,
But he insisted its college money for me,
And he saved it and I'm a graduate, So thats the story of the poverty of my family.

I Think We Fell In Love Too Fast

Writers: leo sayer, johnny vastano &vini poncia
We were just two kids in high school
Whod never been in love before
Just happened to be together
We never wanted more
We had one long crazy summer
Life was like a honeymoon
But we couldnt hold back our feelins
Guess you came along too soon
Ooh, darlin
I think we fell in love too fast
Ooh, darlin
I think we fell in love too fast
I was workin my way through college
When you wrote and told me the news
Said you were gonna have a baby
Yeah, I knew my college days were through
Had to work late to make the money
You saw more of the kid than me
I guess I knew I failed you when
You said that youd rather be free
You wanted to be free
Ooh, darlin
I think we fell in love too fast
Ooh, darlin
I think we fell in love too fast
Well I heard you got away to florida
Got a husband, took the kid
I bet they think the whole world of you
Just like I always did
You were the only one I ever wanted
But I know you cant be replaced
If only wed met a little later, babe
We wouldnt of made the same mistakes
Oh, no, no, no, ooh
Darlin, yeah
I think we fell in love too fast
I know it now
Ooh, darlin, darlin
I know we fell in love too fast, too fast
Ooh, darlin, yeah
I think we fell in love too fast
I know it now
Ooh, darlin, darlin
I know we fell in love too fast, too fast

College Kids

Someone please save us, us college kids!
What my parents told me is what I did
They said go to school and be a college kid
But in the end I question why I did
Im poor, Im starving, Im flat broke, Ive got no cash to spend
Sell all my books for front row tickets to dave matthews band
My girlfriends at another school, I know this year will test her
I called, found out she had three other boyfriends last semester
And thats why I say
Oh no! not for me, not for me
Call it torture, call it university
No! arts and crafts is all I need
Ill take calligraphy and then Ill make a fake degree
80 grand later I found out that all that I had learned
Is that you should show up to take your finals and your midterms
The party scene is kinda mean, I think its sick and twisted
The navy showed up at my dorm and claimed that I enlisted
And thats why I say
Oh no! not for me, not for me
Call it torture, call it university
No! arts and crafts is all I need
Ill take calligraphy and then Ill make a fake degree
Dont get excited. shell say no without a doubt you see
And Ive decided college girls just wont go out with me
They make me nervous and they always catch me off my guard
Like cell phone services I drop out cause college is too hard
Its time to call my father
Cause its his alma mater
Good grades arent what they seem
I think he knows the dean
Its time to call my father
Cause its his alma mater
He says hes proud of me
But college always was his dream
And I would always say its not for me
Oh no! not for me, not for me
Call it torture, call it university
No! arts and crafts is all I need
Ill take calligraphy and then Ill make a fake degree
Someone please save us, us college kids!
What my parents told me is what I did
They said go to school and be a college kid
But in the end I question why I did
Do what will make you happy
Do what you feel is right
Only but one thing matters
Learn how to live your life
[in background:]

Someone please save us, us college kids!
What my parents told me is what I did

Everybody vs.my money

Insurance agents, investment promoters,
Sellers of everything on earth including my future
Everybody’s hankering after my money

Everybody means everybody.
My money means my money.
There should not be any confusion.

I’m very worried about everybody.
I’m very worried about my money.
Everybody’s very worried about me.

They have a lot of attractive plans for my money.
They are very worried about my future well being.
Everybody has seen future except me.

I can only see their present.
I can only see how disappointed they become
When I fail to put my money in their schemes.

As We Fall

as we fall we begin to wish we didnt jump
as we jump we wish they didnt brake our hearts
as they brake our hearts we wish we never met them
as we meet them we wish we never showed up where we were
as we show up we wish we stayed at home
as we come home we wish we never left our freinds
as we visit our friends we wish school never ended
as school ends we wish school never started
as school starts we wish we stayed asleep
as we sleep we dream as we dream....
nobody knows what we do or wish =) ♥

Last day of my school

That was the day when i met
My good friends during the sunset
And having many regrets
My last day at school
Everyone was so worried
here had those times buried
When to reach the school we hurried
My last day at school
Leaving the school hurt me a lot
What a present I silently got
And I promised to forget my friends not
My last day at school
From the beginning to the end
Sweet messages were sent
Everything happened that meant
My last day at school
Sometimes I stop thinking
That my beautiful moments are sinking
And I keep my friend’s phones ringing
My last day at school
I do not like to enter
The new college centre
This all seems like dementor
My last day at school
When I weep
And my tears fall deep
And I got precious gifts to keep
My last day school

In My Nightmares

In my nightmares, I am running from the truth.
All is see is myself lonely, and trapped in a dark room.
But what could I really be running from?
I am running from the fact that I don’t have a father.
I grew up not knowing who he was.
Everyday I would wonder if he missed me as much as I missed him.
Sometimes I would cry myself to sleep because I felt so alone.
I know that I will never have the perfect family.
I know that my dad won’t be there to dance with me
At the father daughter dances or even give me away at my wedding.
I cried because I felt like there was something or someone missing.
I already knew that he wasn’t coming back.
But that’s not what hurt the most.
What hurts the most was thinking that I was probably the reason why he left.
People say I shouldn't blame myself.
But if I was so great then why did he leave in the first place?
Why was he never there on any of my birthday’s?
Or when I graduated Elementary School.
How come he won’t be there when I graduate High School or college.
But what is the saddest part is that my nightmares are reality!

Live life to the fullest

Remember when you were little?
It seems so long ago.
There were a lot of big changes it seemed.
Like your first christmas, first birthday, first everything.
Then you learned to walk and talk
And finally went to school for the first time.
It seemed to take forever just to turn 13,
To finally become a teenager.
Just a few short years later,
Guess what, you turn 16.
Now you have more freedom,
and a brand new car.
A couple of years later,
You graduate high school and turn 18.
Finally it is time to say your goodbyes.
To leave your parents house and go to college.
Now you have graduated college,
And have a full time job.
Maybe you have even started a family.
So where did all those years go?
Just live your life and try not to grow up too fast.
