There are two kinds of talents, man-made talent and God-given talent. With man-made talent you have to work very hard. With God-given talent, you just touch it up once in a while.

Hidden Talent

Written by gerry beckley, 1998
Found on human nature.
Just like a person from another world
My eyes can see inside you, little girl
I see things that you dont want to see
I see things youre trying to hide from me
Im just trying to make you understand
All the ways you can affect this man
From the moment that you came in touch
With the power there to burn so much
Youve got hidden talent (yeah)
I bet youre gonna find some hidden talent, oh
You know your past is whats been bugging you
If youre ready girl ... do what you gotta do
Look for your life between the lines
Bad directions and poor designs
Youve got hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
I bet youre gonna find some hidden talent, oh
Hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
Check it out you ... got it, hidden talent, oh
With the advantage of perspective i
See theres more to you than meets the eye
But now the time must come to spread your wings and fly
Yeah (hidden talent) yeah
Hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
I bet youre gonna find some hidden talent, oh
Hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
Check it out ... you got it, hidden talent, oh
Hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
Affair without warning
Hidden talent, mmm (mmm)
Hidden talent (hidden talent, yeah)
I bet youre gonna find some hidden talent, oh
(fade)

The real issue is not talent as an independent element, but talent in relationship to will, desire, and persistence. Talent without these things vanishes and even modest talent with those characteristics grows.

The first thing they were told was how to hone their talent. Then they were told how to market their talent, discipline their talent and type their talent. And then they were told they might as well forget about talent.

Confessions of the Soul part 1

They say inspiration comes from passion. Skill by hard work. Constantly beating on your craft and constant effort. Talent stems from longing. The wish to belong in the greatest of your surroundings.
What we see. What we wish to be.
What we want other to do and how they perceive me.
Talent equals fun. Once the talent is combined with the skill and the inspiration it creates enlinement with what you wish to become. Pursue fun and find your talent. Do it often and search new content.
Then, you are contend.

Why A Genius Is So Rare?

Why a genius is so rare?
Because it’s needed time and luck for that person to find his true talent
It is needed chance and hard work to explore his hidden talent
It is needed good and understanding to accept his unique talent

Sonnet- Talents

Talent is something that none can erase;
It is always a God-given rich gift;
If you can nurture and become an ace,
None can prevent God's impending huge lift.

Talent is something that's hidden in you;
Within you search and 'twill come out quite true;
God rewards this way for righteousness too,
Never to many but to people few.

Talent is something all must bring it out,
To show the world that God is pleased with us;
It is God's blessing, without any doubt;
Then labour and nurture without great fuss.
Talent if nurtured, gives us happiness;
'Tis not something to keep in much harness.

WHAT IS IT, RICHARD WIDMARK...by Talile Ali

ALWAYS ON THE EDGE
NEVER ON THE FENCE
NEEDS TO BE EXPENSIVE
GOT A GOOD DEFENSE

CROSS AND CLEARLY OUT-SPOKEN
THOUGHTS YOU CAN SEE AND HEAR
TO HELL WITH AMBIGUITY
IT'S THE NOW IN HIM THAT'S CLEAR

WHAT IS IT, RICHARD WIDMARK
YOU GAVE US ALL YOU HAD
YOUR TALENT ON THE BIG SCREEN
FROM RATIONAL TO MAD

FROM LUNATICS TO HERO'S
WE ALWAYS DID BELIEVE
PERFORMANCES WERE SOLID
AND SOMETIMES ON THE SLEEVE

MASTER OF FILM NOIR
CAPTAIN OF SUSPENSE
HE'LL ME YOU BELIEVE HIM
AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE

WHAT IS IT, RICHARD WIDMARK
YOU GAVE US ALL YOU HAD
YOUR TALENT ON THE BIG SCREEN
FROM MISERABLE TO GLAD

SO I WRITE THIS SONG
TO CELEBRATE WHAT MADE YOU
THE TALENT THAT YOU WERE
YOUR IMAGES ALL WERE NEW

JAM

WHAT IS IT, RICHARD WIDMARK
YOU GAVE US ALL YOU HAD
YOUR TALENT ON THE BIG SCREEN
YOU MADE THE GOOD SEEM BAD

FADE

Man On Wire! !

Man on wire! !
An act like magic,
With explosive fantasies;
To set the records with his talent.

Of your talent,
Of my talent,
With ideas,
With your life,
With my life,
To the people,
And, to reach to the clouds! !

To reach to the top,
To expose your talent,
Wire, tire, lire, quire, ire, mire;
But, love can help you know your name.

Man on wire! !
To the clouds,
To the stars!
To stage a walk,
But, take my life and take me for what i am.

Zaire, shire, hire, dire, fire!
Moral, loyal, royal, oral, coral, floral, rural;
Man on wire! !
All in the name of his talent for us to see.

If a man has talent and cannot use it, he has failed. If he has a talent and uses only half of it, he has partly failed. If he has a talent and learns somehow to use the whole of it, he has gloriously succeeded and has a satisfaction and a triumph few men ever know.

When Remembered For What It Is And Missed

Knowing the business of one's talent helps,
After establishing a recognition.
It is not the fact that one gains attention,
That a gift is remembered when it is presented.
It is the timelessness of content.
And one's ability to perceive,
From where that talent comes...
To one who has received it from a birth given.

To acknowledge a tree and admire its leaves,
To then disregard its roots...
Is a foolish position one should never take.

People become curious when one's talent is exposed.
But only those who are about the genuineness,
Of their talents from a business sense...
Continue to work on it all their lives.
And the growth and blooming of it shows to others,
Who enjoy the taste of it over and over again.
Since the quality of it never diminishes,
When remembered for what it is and missed.

And a true talent that is,
Never becomes subjected to standards lowered...
By those who excel,
In limited beliefs...
That a game pf playing a battle of wits,
Is part of it!
It isn't.
Not in this genre!

Talent and dedication

I believe not in talent,
I believe not in dedication,
nor do I believe in their
marriage.
Arrogant I am,
At least, enough to believe I have talents.
To everything that appealed,
I poured in my soul.
Achieved I have,
only a few notches below the acceptable.
Talent is merely a wound,
on which the salt of dedication is heaped.

Talent

Have you ever felt like you can't do anything?
Or maybe, more, you can't do anything well?
LIke everything you do is just to par,
No steep above anyone,
And always a step behind the next.

Pen against paper,
Just turns words and thoughts into something expected,
Paint against canvas,
Just turns colors into an elementary picture.
Setting to work with expectations, only to have them broken.

Or maybe even you do something well,
Or are told that you do,
And all of a sudden it, too, becomes par.
A mundane activity that changes no minds, nor lives,
Neither impresses, nor leaves impressions.

This is how I feel,
Torn apart by everything I do,
And the nothing I do well.
Left in a world of talent,
Only to realize I have none if my own.

If one were to ask me,
'what is your talent? '
I would think for a moment,
Then, I would reply,
'My talent is non talent'

I recognize talent in others,
I recognize their deserve of praise,
And it makes me happy,
But then I remember,
I have nothing to show them.

I long for something to show the world,
To open peoples' minds to beauty and art,
Yet, slowly, everyday I begin to see;
I will never be the entertainer,
Just, merely, the entertained.

Obviously you have to have talent in order to play so you can't overlook that, but we won't overlook the character issue when it comes to talent because if they have talent and they don't have character, it's going to be very difficult to coach that person.

I have a talent for silence and brevity. I can keep silent when it seems best to do so, and when I speak I can, and do usually, quit when I am done. This talent, or these two talents, I have cultivated. Silence and concise, brief speaking have got me some laurels, and, I suspect, lost me some. No odds. Do what is natural to you, and you are sure to get all the recognition you are entitled to.

They who lack talent expect things to happen without effort. They ascribe failure to a lack of inspiration or ability, or to misfortune, rather than to insufficient application. At the core of every true talent there is an awareness of the difficulties inherent in any achievement, and the confidence that by persistence and patience something worthwhile will be realized. Thus talent is a species of vigor.
