So most astronauts getting ready to lift off are excited and very anxious and worried about that explosion - because if something goes wrong in the first seconds of launch, there's not very much you can do.

I Get Excited

(tennant/lowe)
--------------
(excited)
(excited)
(excited excited excited excited)
(excited excited excited excited)
(i get excited)
(i get excited)
We're both in the gutter, that's no surprise
What does it matter, when i look in your eyes?
We've lost all our money, we're thrown out of bars
We're lying in the gutter, but we're looking at the stars
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I hear the sound of the subway, the sigh of the heat
The click of the visitors' heels on the street
The rattle of the taxi, the scream of the cars
The clatter of the dustbin and the beat of my heart
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why
(excited excited excited excited)
(excited excited excited excited)
You're in my soul
My body moves to your control
Baby, i've been thinking about you
All night long, and the neighbours are talking
I don't know why, i don't know why (excited) (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why
(excited) (i get excited)
We're both in the gutter, that's no surprise
What does it matter, when i look in your eyes?
We've lost all our money, we're thrown out of bars
We're lying in the gutter, but we're looking at the stars
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why
(excited excited excited excited)
(excited excited excited excited)
(ooooooooh)
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I get excited, you get excited too (excited) (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why (i get excited)
I don't know why, i don't know why (i get excited)
I get excited, you get excited too

When you're getting ready to launch into space, you're sitting on a big explosion waiting to happen.

The pressure suit helps if something goes wrong during launch or re-entry - astronauts have a way to parachute off the shuttle. The suits protect you from loss of pressure in case of emergency.

Excited

Excited
Mean to me is
Ready to get something
I been waiting for
Like my permit or CD/DVD/Phone

Excited
Is one thing
I don't keep
Doing because
It's go to turn into bad luck

Excited
On the other hand
When I want something so bad it can happen
All I have to do is be patient and
It can be a good thing

Excited
Can mean so much
Like getting this feeling
When you are with someone you love so much
You just can't stop feeling like that

Excited
Is expressed on my face of how I
Feel right now
I just want to let it out and
Be crazy
Excited

17

17 seconds of compassion
17 seconds of peace
17 seconds to remember love is the energy
behind which all is created
17 seconds to remember all that is good
17 seconds to forget all your hurt and pain
17 seconds of faith
17 seconds to trust you again
17 seconds of radiance
17 seconds to send a prayer up
17 seconds is all you really need

People, Lets Stop The War

Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo-ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
Hey all you people, for goodness sake,
Lets get together, what does it take,
To make you understand the value of a man?
Im talkin about your son and neighbor, yes I am. oh ...
Chorus
People lets stop the war.
People lets stop the war.
People lets stop the war.
People lets stop the war.
If we had a president, that did just what he said,
The country would be just alright, and no one would be dead,
From fighting in a war, that causes big men to get rich.
Theres money in them war machines, now aint this a bitch? oh ...
Chorus
I been excited, aint nobody ready.
They dont know what to get ready for.
Lets get ready and stop the war.
Ooo ... excited, aint nobody ready.
They dont know what to get ready for.
Lets get ready and stop the war.
I been excited, aint nobody ready.
They dont know what to get ready for.
Lets get ready and stop the war.
Ooo ... excited, aint nobody ready.
They dont know what to get ready for.
Lets get ready and stop the war.
Ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo-ooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
Chorus
Chorus

I'm Chinese-American, of course, and so it's very interesting to see China actually launch their own astronauts, becoming the third nation, following the United States and Russia, to do so.

We Are Worried

We are worried
Our once prosperous land
Is now a beggar

We are worried
Our incandescent light
Is now blurred

We are worried
Love no longer co-habits
On our wide streets

We are worried
That brothers slaughter brothers
All in the name of God

We are worried
How vultures prey
On our commonwealth

We are worried
The gap gets wider
Between the rich and the poor

We are worried
About our youths
Whose destinies are bleak.

We are worried
That the ship may sink
Like the titanic.

We are worried
We do not know who to trust
We are worried of many things

Frustrating Seconds

These seconds of time that seem so small
really are not that small at all.
They continuously add up to a minute.
Sixty seconds later and all that's within it
is larger as they pass.

And then they add up to an hour.
Now those seconds have more power.
They move along and soon there'll be
another day gone from you with me.

Seconds, minutes, hours and days
have grown so long in heartfelt ways.
They leave me wondering just how long
these drawn out seconds did me wrong?

I'd love to bundle them up real tight
and little by little squeeze them at night.
And when the dawn is here again
remember all of them and say Amen.

I do not wish my life away.
I just want those seconds to go their way.
Let them add up for another fool.
For these seconds for me are much too cruel.

I don't need seconds, minutes or hours
to remind me of eternity.
I will not count the time anymore
for all it contains is the misery
of being away from you.

I think it's good to have competition. Now we have a third country that can launch astronauts, so it's good for all of us. It makes us a little bit more competitive and wanting to be the leader.

Seconds

All day
Hiding from the sun
Waiting for the golden one
Waiting for your fame
After the parade has gone
Outside was a happy place
Every face had a smile like the golden face
For a second
Your knuckles white as your fingers curl
The shot that was heard around the world
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds of your time to take his life
Seconds
Seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
It took seconds of your time to take his life
It took seconds
For a second
It took seconds of your time to take his life
Seconds of your time to take his life
For a second
For a second
For a second

I Get So Excited

(ian hunter)
I hear a thousand drums a million miles away
I feel the wembley rock I get a buzz off a big parade
I get the music
Everywhere
Get off on the music
If this is the end there I dont care
I get so excited
So excited
Call me a fan thats just what I am
I said I i I i I get
So excited
So excited
My nerves are alive
I feel like a knife
I said I get so excited
I hear a choir singing way up above the sea
I feel the sound a-changing as the night rocks a spell on me
I get the music
Everywhere
Get off on the music
If this is the end there I dont care I get
So excited
So excited
Ill throw you a line come far behind
I said I i I i I get
So excited
So excited
Its happening so fast
And the drummers a blast
I said I get so excited
By your mind oh yeah oh yeah
Excited by your warmth oh yeah oh yeah

Call me a fan thats just what I am
I said I i I i I i I get

Ruby Red

Ive got a ruby red desire
Like a virus like my last hope
Ive got a ruby red desire
Ive got to hear the red bird sing
Ive got to rip this cord
And rinse this lazy blood
Clear a path and walk away
Ive been waiting for the sky to fall
Ive been worried I could lose it all
Ive been waiting for the safety net
Tell myself that Im not ready yet
And every memorys a dream
And each uncertainty reminds me why
I saw a kid outside playing by a moongate
Making paper things that fly
Ive been waiting for the sky to fall
Ive been worried I could lose it all
Ive been waiting for the safety net
Tell myself that [m not ready yet
I want to live ...
Ive been waiting for the sky to fall
Ive been worried I could lose it all
Ive been waiting for the safety net
Tell myself that Im not ready yet
I want to live ...

Ready To Fly

I've been trying to open the door
To the secret of my destiny
And every new road I think is the one
Seems to lead right back to me
I've looked for a way to be wiser
A way to be strong
Now I see the answer was hiding
In me all along
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
Restless, hopeless, and misunderstood
Like so many others I know
So busy tryin' to keep holdin' on
When I should've been letting go
I was given the gift to find it
The spirit inside me
But I never really imagined
All I could be
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
The answer to all of my wonder
Was right in my hands
Now it's time for me to discover
All that I am
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
I've always had wings
Now I'm finally ready to fly

One Day

The treat of nuclear war remains high,
But what is wrong with mankind? ! !
For the perilous choices of mankind are ready to launch within minutes.
'What will the end be? ' You may ask:
But the prophecies are all in our various Bibles to teach us,
For the end will surely come one day.
