I'd wanted to be a writer and when I came back to New York worked as a musician too, but I found my writing starting to get more and more referential to cinema.

Paperback Writer

(LennonMcCartney)
Paperback writer
Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's the dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn't understand
His son is working for the Daily Mail
It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few
I'll be writing more in a week or two
I can make it longer if you like the style
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
If you really like it you can have the rights
It could make a million for you overnight
If you must return it, you can send it here
But I need a break and I want to be a paperback writer

First Encounter - Kitaro

Kitaro
more mystical than him
his music

Kitaro just another
musician working
for survival

Kitaro just another
musician who enlightens us
with his specialities

Several years back Kitaro came to give a concert at the Genting Highlands. He came across as just another musician, working for his survival. A lot of hypes have been written about the mystic way of life he lives but that did not come across to me. Yes, his hair was long but what I perceived was a man working for his survival. Tagging along was his musician wife who worked in the same band as Kitaro.

What's In New York? (Part II)

As I screamed the chorus of 'New York' by Snow Patrol to him, he screams it back at me:
'Come on, Come out
Come here, Come here
Come on, Come out
Come here, Come here'
Shocked, I turn looking Northward...I then advance toward him...he waves beckoning that I should run....I do and I'm taken up in mid-air...He then proceeds to tell me why I should be Northward and not in 'New York'(the world) ...
'The lone neon light and the ache of the ocean and the fire that was starting to spark...I miss it all from the love to the lightning and the lack of it snaps me in two...Just give me a sign that there's an end not a beginning to the quiet chaos driving me mad...the lone neon light and the warmth of the ocean and the fire that is starting go out'...
I cry, he cries too, but wipes mine and tells me...The angels, the heavenly hosts have always been there...I made you from dust and breathed all of me into you...I wanted a friend...A companion...I wanted you...
I talked and laughed with Adam...we ran and played together(the fire that was starting to spark) ...He was like me but we were different... so I made him a companion of his kind...But sin came and took my friend away...I cried and was broken, but still found it in me to make him some clothes to wear as he walked away from me forever(the fire that was starting to go out) ...From that day till this day, few people put me first(the quiet chaos driving me mad) ...Heaven's justice demands your death for your sins...I, the judge took off my glorious robe and left my throne...stood with you in the dock and took your place...I died for you...so, that in all ways we would be friends again...I am loved for what I can do, not who I am(I miss it all from the love to the lightning) ...I love it when you sing to me and read your heart to me...I love you...Come on, Come out, be my friend, talk to me and when you can, walk with me...I will always love you in spite of you...You always come first with me...I hope someday I will come first with you...
He danced with me to the song of all songs(his life) and gently placed me with his hands back in 'New York' to make a choice. I chose him. I choose him. What comes first with you? He loves you.

'You purchase pain with all that joy can give
And die of nothing but a rage to live'.

It was in New York, and I've always wanted to film in New York. And the writer was a teenage friend of mine. We did youth theatre together when we were 16 and always had a dream of making a film together. And ten years later, we've done it. So it's great.

New York City

Standing on the corner
Just me and yoko ono
We was waiting for jerry to land
Up come a man with a guitar in his hand
Singing, have a marijuana if you can
His name was david peel
And we found that he was real
He sang, the pope smokes dope every day
Up come a policeman shoved us up the street
Singing, power to the people today!
New york city...new york city...new york city
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Well down to maxs kansas city
Got down the nitty gritty
With the elephants memory band
Laid something down
As the news spread around
About the plastic ono elephants memory band!
And we played some funky boogie
And laid some tutti frutti
Singing, long tall sallys a man.
Up come a preacherman trying to be a teacher
Singing, gods a red herring in drag!
New york city...new york city...new york city
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
New york city...new york city...new york city
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
Well we did the staten island ferry
Making movies for the telly
Played the fillmore and apollo for freedom
Tried to shake our image
Just a cycling through the village
But found that we had left it back in london
Well nobody came to bug us
Hustle us or shove us
So we decided to make it our home
If the man wants to shove us out
We gonna jump and shout
The statue of liberty said, come!
New york city...new york city...new york city
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?
New york city...back in new york city...new york city
Que pasa, new york?
Que pasa, new york?

New York Times

New york poor new york
New york poor new york
Cars choking your child to death
But you dont wanna see
Cause you only think about yourself
How blind can you be
New york poor new york
Sniper on the rooftop new york
New york poor new york
Not fit for a dog in new york
Everybody bites on the big apple
Leave the hungry in tears
But no one gives a damn no one really cares
How they feel theyre just paper people not real
You need a gun to walk into new york
Now youre broke and youre out on a ledge
Who can help you this time
Now youre down to your very last cent
Still youre askin me who was your friend
I was your friend
New york poor new york
Who turned the lights out in new york
New york poor new york
Just another blackout in new york
Girl dead on the 26th floor
But no one knew her name
Found her body behind the door
Too young for the game
New york poor new york
Devils in the subway new york
New york poor new york
New york poor new york
Talkin talkin talkin - watch out
Harlem touching midtown new york
New york poor new york
Talkin bout new york new york
Moneys getting tighter new york
Theyre burning the bridges to new york

Starting Over

Spent a lifetime
Finally found someone
Gave him all that I had
In love till the dream was gone
I was losing myself
Out in the darkness alone
But the night made me strong
And I learned to let go
Time mends a heart
You turn the page somehow
Oh, theres no looking back
The hurt is behind you now
Chorus:
Starting over again
From the second time around
Coming back to win
Starting over again
Take the first step
And let it begin
Starting over, starting over
Memories haunt you
Feelings you wont forget
Learn to live a lesson in love
Walk away without regrets
Well never deny
Feelings your heart demands
Ah, find your way out
Just when you reach the end
Starting over again
No ones gonna count you out
When the heat is on
Starting over again
Gotta come back and turn it around
Starting over
Take another look inside
Where you always have a fight
Never dream of giving up, never
No looking back
Chorus

I happen to love working in cinema, but the theater is always there... you know, and I would never shut the door on it. Even though it's been quite a bit of time since I've done a play, last one was in New York.

To be a writer

They say, when you have nothing to say
Do not say anything
They say when you have nothing good to say
Do not say anything
He is not convinced
He wants to be a writer and to be one he must write
What is in his mind
To be a writer he must write and write and write
Even when there is nothing to write
Even when there is nothing to say even when nobody listens
Even when the word is dead even when there is no sense at all
Even when he gets blind and deaf and mute even when his fingers are cut even when his mind is blank even when his consciousness is lost
Even when you are angry even when you say what is written is nothing
But trash, dung, cadaver, corpse, poo, pee, even when there is nothing
Anymore,
He writes because he is a writer and no one can stop him now.
he is
he is writing
he is writing always
he is writing always whatever that needs to be written

and here you are foolishly reading. thanks to you, audience of one.

Great writing is a submission to a creative force that seems to use the writer as an instrument. The writer finds that the words stream out, almost as if someone else were producing them. Writing becomes a process of discovery.

New York

In New York freedom looks like
Too many choices
In New York I found a friend
To drown out the other voices

Voices on a cell phone
Voices from home
Voices of the hard sell
Voices down a stairwell
In New York
Just got a place in New York

In New York summers get hot
Well into the hundreds
You can walk around the block
Without a change of clothing

Hot as a hair dryer in your face
Hot as a handbag and a can of mace
New York
I just got a place in New York

New York Groove

Many years since I was here, on the street I was passin my time away
To the left and to the right, buildings towering to the sky
Its outta sight in the dead of night
Here I am, and in this city, with a fistful of dollars
And baby, youd better believe
Chorus:
Im back, back in the new york groove
Im back, back in the new york groove
Im back, back in the new york groove
Back in the new york groove, in the new york groove
In the back of my cadillac
A wicked lady, sittin by my side, sayin where are we?
Stop at third and forty-three, exit to the night
Its gonna be ecstacy, this place was meant for me
Feels so good tonight, who cares about tomorrow
So baby, youd better believe
Chorus
Im back, back in the new york groove (repeats out)
