In my first film, I was a basketball player. Like every good actor, I lied when they asked me if I could play.

In the original script, my character was a basketball player rather than a boxer. I didn't think I could pull that off. I'm a little short to be a basketball player!

I Use To Play Basketball
Do you play basketball?
'I can.
I did.
Why do you ask? '
And...
You live in Connecticut, right?
'Yes.'
I've noticed from your writing,
There is a biting that defies description.
'What has that have to do with my ability to play basketball? '
Just curious.
Your eyes are penetrating.
As if you seek a challenge from me.
'A challenge?
From 'you'?
I said...
I use to play basketball.
In my much younger days.
However...
If I had been prepared for a challenge to play games,
I would have brought along a blindfold.
That's how confident I am of winning.'

Dont Play That Song
Dont play that song
Performed by: mariah carey
Written by: b nelson, a ertegun
Dont play that song for me
cause it brings back memories
Of days that I once knew
Those days that I spent with you
Oh no dont leave me
cause it fills up my heart with pain
So please stop it right away
cause I remember just what he said
He said darling I love you
But I know that he lied
Darling I need you
Know that you lied
Darling I love you
Darling you lied
Lied
You lied to me
Hey mister
Dont play it no more
Dont play it no more
I cant stand it
Dont play it no more
No more, no more, no more
I cant stand it
I remember on our first date
He kissed me and he walked away
I was only seventeen
I never dreamed hed be so mean
He told me darling I love you
But baby baby you lied
Darling I need you
You lied
Darling I love you
Darling you lied
Lied
You lied to me
Oh darling
Darling I love you
You know that you lied
Darling I need you
Baby I know that you lied
Darling I love you
Darling you lied
Lied
You lied to me and hurt me
Darling you lied
Dont play it no more
No baby
Dont play it no more
Dont do it
Dont play it no more
cause I cant stand it no more

I played baseball, and that's pretty much it. Basketball came late, this was, basketball was the sport that I tried to master, I kind of mastered baseball, so basketball was one of those things where I wanted to master this game, so that's why I probably play it the way I do.

Personally speaking there's only so long you can go from film to film to film. There's an inspiration an actor gets from the stage.
Magic Johnson, former basketball player, may run for mayor of LA in the next election. Remember the good 'ol days when only qualified people ran for office like actors and professional wrestlers.
Once I grew from 6'1"" to about 6'6"", by that time I was going into 12th grade, and that's when I started wanting to play basketball, because, pretty much basketball players always got the girl.

Do They Play Basketball In Heaven?
your friend who died two days ago
finally gave you the answer
yes, they play basketball in heaven
in a heavenly basketball court
and all games there are set
tomorrow you shall be
playing with them.

David has asked me, a number of people have asked me and said, What performance do you like best or what's the best film you've made and so on and I don't really have any hesitation that the film I'm least embarrassed by and ashamed of or uneasy about is Shadowlands.

When I was growing up, we used to play basketball in a park that was never shoveled when it snowed. The basketball rims were never fixed. And we understood then that there was a relationship between public policy and our quality of life.

I never dreamed about being an actor, because that was out of reach. Coming from a small town that was big in farming, and also big in clothing factories, you don't dream about being a professional football player or an actor.
