That's the main thing that attracts me - characters who have big journeys. I like playing those people.

Before there was any talk of a movie, people would sometimes ask me what actors I would imagine playing these characters. And the only thing I could ever say is: I have such a clear idea of these characters that they'd have to play themselves.

I've been trying to take this journey over the last four years of getting away from playing manipulative and villainous characters and playing characters that are affected by what happens to them as opposed to unaffected.

The Main Thing
(ferry)
Look at my hand
Theres a soul on fire
You can lead me even higher
The main thing
Everybody knows
When a good things gone
You can really turn me on
The main thing
You run through here
With your words of sand
I can nearly understand
The main thing

Wait
(jack hues)
Streetcorners seem designed to lie in wait
For a chance to get involved in lovers fate
And this one seems as good as any Ive seen
So wait here with me until six-fifteen
Chorus:
Im waiting for you
But youre very late
I know youll come anyway
And I can hardly wait
Evidently
Theres a difficulty
I know youll come anyway
And I can hardly wait
Wait
I see you approaching youre the eyes of the crowd
The traffic and people, God theyre all so loud
But in a couple of moments they will all disappear
Because were ever so close when were ever so near
Repeat chorus
Punctuality
Was never much to me
Being yourself is the main thing
Forget about the time
Forget about the time
Being yourself is the main thing
The main thing
The main thing love

The main thing I'm into is going about on a bike, taking random routes; I'm really into the idea of making up journeys, and just seeing where they take you, because they always end up taking you someplace freaky.

People
People fly people flee
People clam and say it wasnt me
People fish people beef
People arm to teeth
Yes, youve got people on the tube
Walking on the moon
People at the bottom of the sea
People in tombs
People in igloos
Even a tribe of pygmies
People are the main spring
Turning the world around
People, theyre the main spring
Spinning this world upside down
People sun people toast
People tire shile other people smoke
People bowl people rock
People pay to see two people box
Watch me face me
Dress me baby me
Phone me wire me
House me bug me fire me
People are the main spring
Spinning the world around
People, theyre the main spring
Turning this world inside out

I think it's definitely beneficial for these characters to have good acting voices behind them and it affects the characters in a way that people can feel like they're part of the game and that they know these characters.

People Everywhere: Social Music (Original 11 03 2009)
PEOPLE EVERYWHERE: SOCIAL MUSIC
Original 11 03 3009
People everywhere over here over there people
In poor bread lines people in pony drawn carriages
People on a chariot with a rumble seat people on a
Climb on a mountain steep people on a dime on a
Corner on Wall Street –street people -people everywhere
Everywhere there’s a drummer. Where you going?
Everywhere you go you go with a beat you go with
Where the music is… where the music is “social man
What’s jazz? ” People everywhere just social that’s all
New Orleans people social all the way up river to
Kansas City on up to Chicago don’t make no difference
If your name is Santiago Obama Bergson Rothschild
Bush just social People -Montrose New York City
People social all the way to Rio Paris Johannesburg
Brazil Belize over all the bridges –London Suez
Toronto Montreal people in a dim café -social
People in church every weekday and everyday
Everywhere there’s a temple play -Joe’s Place
People social man -music social don’t make no
Difference where you get together whoever is playing
Just playing so you keep on playing with everybody
Playing -people play social music man –man or
Woman don’t understand just don’t stop playing
People everywhere want to be there to see it -up here
You playing social music -understand -just don’t
Stop playing -people everywhere get hungry lose
Patience -people everywhere not playing social music
When you stop playing social music people every-
Where stop –trying to figure out why everybody
Stop playing social music -nothing social about
Playing a whole lot of music -nothing truly social
In a lot of music -the next thing you know a short
Spell and before long you got wars breaking out
Stop playing and its hell -that’s not social any more.

Colored Masks
You the people with million character and face
Absolutely in every story you find for yourself a place
Your colored characters even the best actors may find it hard to play
You're the best one in every situation and place
Your selfishness kept your soul slave
To win the glory of being the most appreciative you can make any mistake
The world is suffering but there absolutely you can't find for yourself a place
Only the world's bright side and its shining colors attracts your imagination for whom is your hard race
Hard to control your ego to convice you that all the people at this world are and deserve the same
But your selfishness has made you the hero for your cheep rat race
And every while you put on a different mask to play your new piece
And at every new script you choose a new role and face
But everywhere and always you take the best characters and place

Journeys Traveled
I have traveled many places
from here to there almost every where
seen places and people, never thought i would
from army bases to castles to to the sands of a desert
peace time to war time and lonely times
traveled by planes, trains, buses, taxis, cars and foot
the splendid mountain to the sand dunes
extreme cold to the scorching heat
one thing I take from all these journeys
is remember to take in everything you can
the mind will absorb anything you want.
mental pictures of beautiful scenery, gorgeous people
crowds in the streets to the loneliest path
breathe taking ever so lasting
make every journey unique and interesting
fun and learning come hand in hand
the stories you can tell of past visits
they can be past down thru the family line
to show how much each journey meant to you
pictures tell a 1000 words, but stories bring it to life
imaginations can bring the journeys to everyone's mind
enjoy each one as we all take the many beautiful journeys thru life
my journeys all come back home with me
for i love to tell the story to everyone around
good or bad the stories are told
For to see you express a smile or a tear
brings joy to me, my journeys tales will always live

Jesus Is The Main Man
Jesus is the main man.
That's it.
No more comments!
Jesus is the main man.
You can zip your parted lips, now!
Jesus is the main man.
Forget those pity stops at pits.
Jesus is the main man.
This you 'must' admit, now!
Jesus is the main man.
That's it.
No more comments on it made...
To degrade or say what else may fit.
Jesus is the main man.
Know this,
And get lifted quick!
Jesus is the main man.
Understand this as best you can.
Jesus is the main man.
Commanded when you pray,
Now!
Jesus is the main man.
That's it...
No need for further comments on it!
Jesus is the main man.
He's like a gift one gets,
To share unlimited!
Jesus is the main man.
It's hard to sit still,
When something received
Is known
To be real!

Future Games
Written by bob welch.
I did a thing last night
You know those future games
I turned off all the lights
Oh, the future came
You were by my side
Will you explain-oh yeah
Real rhyme or reason for those future games
Now you were there last night
And oh were you afraid
Of things wed come upon
While playing future games
But baby its alright and so have faith
Oh yeah, you invent the future that you want to face
How many people sit home at night
Wondering if they will be here tonight
Wondering if children will he bring to the light
Inherit the world, or inherit the night
Wondering if neighbors are thinking the same
All of the wild things tomorrow will tame
Talking of journeys that happen in vain
Well I know Im not the only one
To ever spend my life sitting playing future games
You better take your time
You know theres no escape
The future sends a sign
Of things we will create
Baby its alright
And so have faith
Oh yeah, you invent the future that you want to face
How many people sit home at night
Wondering if they will be here tonight
Wondering if children will he bring to the light
Inherit the world, or inherit the night
Wondering if neighbors are thinking the same
All of the wild things tomorrow will tame
Talking of journeys that happen in vain
And I know Im not the only one
To ever spend my life sitting playing future games
Future games...
Future games...
Future games...
Future games...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...
I know Im not the only one...

I much prefer playing the bad guys. I think they are always the most interesting characters. I liken it to painting: if you're playing the good guy, you get three colors: red, white and blue. But if you're the bad guy, you get the whole palette.
My characters surprise me constantly. My characters are like my friends - I can give them advice, but they don't have to take it. If your characters are real, then they surprise you, just like real people.

Upon The Journeys End
If you find hard times and troubles on the rock road ahead
If you find nothing but sorrow everytwhere you lay your head
No you wont fnd me a stranger
When you reall need a friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
When all the pain has you broken and there is no place to hide
When all your words have been spoken and theres nothing left inside
There I will be right beside you
I will cover you my friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
I will be strong
Ill help you carry on
When nothing and no one can stop us anymore
Oh oh oh
I will be there and I will always still say a prayer
After the mountains crumble
The stars and the moon and the sun all fade away
Oh when all your reasons for living have all but dissappeared
And when the boats youve been sailing you can no longer steer
There I will sail right behind you
On winds of love I sail
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
I can see a brighter day
I can see a better way
I can feel it coming very near
I feel like we belong
I can see whats right and whats wrong
Weve been waiting for so long now its here
If you find hard times and troubles on the rocky road ahead
If you find nothing but sorrow everywhere you lay your head
No you wont find me a stranger
When you really need a friend
Cause I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
Yes I wanna be there with you
Upon the journeys end
