I need no dictionary of quotations to remind me that the eyes are the windows of the soul.

A writer expresses himself in words that have been used before because they give his meaning better than he can give it himself, or because they are beautiful or witty, or because he expects them to touch a cord of association in his reader, or because he wishes to show that he is learned and well read. Quotations due to the last motive are invariably ill-advised; the discerning reader detects it and is contemptuous; the undiscerning is perhaps impressed, but even then is at the same time repelled, pretentious quotations being the surest road to tedium.

Permafrost

Permanent isolation,
a permafrost inside my soul.
Depths inside,
I cannot count on
to remind
Give to let go.

24 and ashtray windows,
surrounded by
mirrors of snow.

Lost in tracks,
ripples on pavement
weaving thoughts
the mind will not show.

Permanent isolation,
a permafrost inside my soul.
Depths inside I cannot count on
to remind,
give to let go.

Why do we
plan all our movements?
color schemes
and castles for show.

While sunken eyes
and sullen heart strings
are placed inside,
walls cannot grow

A permafrost,
she gives what I gave her
to remind,
give to let go.

The entities

A sentence is of words,
All borrowed from the dictionary.
Yet it has a soul
Unfound in the dictionary.
All are made of five elements;
Yet each has an entity.

Winston Churchill

It is a good thing for an uneducated man to read books of quotations. Bartlett's Familiar Quotations is an admirable work, and I studied it intently. The quotations when engraved upon the memory give you good thoughts. They also make you anxious to read the authors and look for more.

You Remind Me Of Gold

Baby, when I think about you
And thats when I think
I think about gold
You remind me of gold
And when I see the sunrise in the sky
And when I hear your brakes come squealing by
I forget
Everything Ive been told
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
Baby I always think about you
I think of the life and glory you hold
You remind me of gold
And even though there was no sun today
And though you are a thousand miles away
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold

Your Dictionary

H-a-t-e
Is that how you spell love in your dictionary
K-i-c-k
Pronounced as kind
F-u-c-k
Is that how you spell friend in your dictionary
Black on black
A guidebook for the blind
Well now that I can see my eyes wont weep
Now that I can hear your song sounds cheap
Now that I can talk all your corn Ill reap
Im not so sure that joey wed a virgin mary
There are no words for me inside your dictionary
S-l-a-p
Is that how you spell kiss in your dictionary
C-o-l-d
Pronounced as care
S-h-i-t
Is that how you spelt me in your dictionary
Four-eyed fool
You led round everywhere
Now that I can see its the queens new clothes
Now that I can hear all your poison prose
Now that I can talk with my tongue unfroze
Im not so sure of santa or the buck-tooth fairy
There are no words for me inside your dictionary
Now your laughter has a hollow ring
But the hollow ring has no finger in
So lets close the book and let the day begin
And our marriage be undone

Love's Light: The Philosopher at the Window

The eyes, it's said, are windows of the soul;
and when I see your eyes so sparkling bright,
I see there beauty, truth and goodness; all
as one; the radiance of an inner light.

But I who, standing, gaze though windows here:
what does my own soul see by its own light?
Is what is seen, seen through dark glass, or clear?
Is others' radiance that of my own sight?

Strange fact: the outward play's less bright, less clear
than what I see to shine in others' eyes;
there seems less love in me, from me; less dear
the loving, than the love I see and prize!

These windows teach clear lessons to my soul:
first see my own self's light, to see the whole.

Wistfully Watching

They explore the world
through windows,
church windows,
school windows,
two up, two down windows,
castle windows,
large windows,
small windows.

They see it all,
from blameless to guilty,
from noble to treacherous,
through windows.
From skyscraper windows,
to basement flat windows,
from paupers windows,
and palace windows

they watch, absorb, suck it in.

Later when they have grown
they will remember,
try to empathise,
rationalise
decipher the coded metaphors,
but some day
they will be demoralised
by the windows of life.

There they sit __ wistfully watching __
the children

of our times.

Beautiful Are Eyes!

Sure, sure, it is true,
eyes are windows,
Windows that opens the heart,
mind and Soul,
To world around!

Beautiful eyes that see pain around,
And within see that pain,
Enchanting peace of soul,
That eyes which see the Self Everywhere,
The eyes that are beautiful,
Only windows that bring the fresh air!

Eyes are beautiful that can see beyond,
And see beyond the world,
The world beyond heaven and hell
hello hello namaste to all,
Smiling lips add to its beauty,
That can keep it smile in all worlds!

Eyes that are beautiful,
That can see beloved everywhere,
The formless beloved in all forms,
nicely packed in ugly or attractive packets,
Our beloved tests us,
Let the beautiful eyes show us the truth!
Eyes are beautiful not when they attract others,
But attracts with highest wisdom and knowledge,
Eyes are beautiful when they radiate love and compassion!

Eyes are beautiful which shines with truth,
Glows with cosmic intelligence,
that has Infinite ocean of Self behind,
The eyes that
bornblind Surdas,
Helen Keller,
Louis Brail and
many such had!

Windows Of The Soul

They are the windows of the soul,
With roller blinds above,
Eyes opened up, grant new insights,
Still tantalised by love,
Such that they dilate at the glimpse
Of new flesh to devour,
While watching bodies to and fro,
As they pass by each hour...

They are the windows of the soul,
They help us choose our food,
With instinctive fresh decisions
Until they change their mood...
One day you're in, one day you're out,
One day you're in-between...
But pretty soon, beyond a doubt,
Watch out when they turn mean!

They are the windows of the soul,
The poet's faithful friends,
For such as these still dream at night,
Despite each day that ends...
And in those dreams, the truth's revealed,
The secrets there unfold,
With nothing sacred still concealed,
Beware what you behold!

They are the windows of the soul,
Imagination's spurs,
With recollections in the brain
Reflecting what occurs...
Twinkling with each new happiness,
Alerting us of fears,
The 20-20 blessings stare,
Outpouring all our tears...

They are the windows of the soul,
That's why they mean so much,
To complete our bodies' senses,
Emotions they can touch...
They see our friends and families,
They see our lives so far...
Right up to here, right up to now,
So we know who we are...

Hidden Drive

there's a dirty house that's falling apart
some want to fix it but they don't know where to start
there's cobwebs and cracks in the walls
this is where rain's relief dares not to fall
no one really cares to help this place
they just look at the face
this old house is kept inside
with a disguising shell to hide
something i noticed as i passed by
at the house where hope will die
the windows were clean and new
though everywhere else the weeds grew
the windows had such an allure
i couldn't take it anymore
i gazed at the windows in awe
then through them i saw
the messy, run-down house inside
where beauty died
then i realized
something about eyes
eyes are the windows
clean and lovely for show
but behind them is the soul
sometimes your eyes will fool
the beauty and shine will not last
for one day, someone will see past.

The Eyes Are Windows

The eyes are windows of the heart
Wherein transparency will show
A myriad feelings to impart
From where in sadness, tears do flow.

The eyes will say contents of heart
The speech two lovers freely speak,
For Silence eloquently starts
Romance in muted communique.

The eyes are windows of all cares,
Display the sad and wearied soul;
Distant looks and empty stares
Reveal a man who is not whole.

His weak attempts to somehow hide
What's clearly felt and seen-
Will showcase all the stuff inside
Deep secrets of where love had been.

The eyes are windows too of kindness
Touching looks that give embrace,
Blessing one words of forgiveness
Of bitter hurts there is no trace.

The eyes of Love are open windows,
Giving joy, shared happiness;
Reaching forth to let one know
It always seeks to bless with goodness.

Our Eyes

OUR EYES
do not actually see
for they are nothing but windows
to our soul
it is our soul that sees
through our hearts

blindness of the eyes
makes the heart see more
beyond
what is just there
within our grasp
gladly, beyond
what our
fingers always touch

what our lips
just kissed

Remind My Heart

(k. hain/j. franzel)
Pull back the curtain
Open up the blind
Let the light on the window
I cant close for all this time
I wanted to forget the pain of falling
That you, maybe, remember now
Dreams werent always made to be broken
Chorus:
When you hold me in your arm
Remind my heart
Of the way love should be
In the moment I let go
Remind my heart
That youre really there for me
Like the sun, breaking through the dark
Remind my heart
Ohh, can it be this simple
Can it be this true
All the fears Ive held so long
Swept away by you
Slowly now, you bring me to my senses
And I can feel the warmth again
Of the flame Id thought Ive lost forever
(repeat chorus)
What I missed so long (remind my heart)
Of the tenderness and the feeling you remind (remind my heart)
How love can make you strong
Oh, baby, youre makin me strong
(repeat chorus)
Ohh, in the moment I let go (remind my heart)
Remind my heart, remind my heart
That youre really there for me
Remind my heart
Of the way this love should be
Remind my heart
Remind my heart

Remind Me

Turn off that charm
Im through with love for awhile
Im through and yet, you have a fabulous smile
So if I forget
Remind me
Not to find you so attractive
Remind me
That the world is full of men
When I start to miss you
To touch your hand
To kiss you
Remind me
To count to ten
I had a feeling when I met you
Youd drive me crazy if I let you
But all my efforts to forget you
Remind me Im in love again
I get my heart, well in hand, and Im certain
That I can take you, or leave you alone
Then you begin that beguine again
And boom, I give in , again
I have a will made of steel, my friend
But when it seems about to bend
Remind me
Not to mention that I love you
Remind me
To be sorry that we met
Although I adore you
Remind me to ignore you
Youre one thing I will regret
So when your charm begins to blind me
Ill simply tie my hands behind me
Dont let me kiss you please, remind me
Unless, my darling, you forget

You Remind Me

Yooouuu remind me, yeah
You remind me of such sweet memories
Oooohhh

I saw you before baby
Its a deja vu honey
Dont you know that you remind me
I saw you before baby
Its a deja vu honey
Dont you know that you remind me

You, you remind me of a love that I once knew
Is it a dream or is it deja vu
I just had to let you know
So I had to sing it
Cause for you boy I dont know
The way you walk and
The way you talk and
The way you move and
You remind me, yes you do
Of the way you dress and
The way you dance and
You really like to groove it
You remind me
You remind me, yeah

You, you remind me of a memory
And this is something you should know
Sweet baby darling cmon just stop playin with my mind
Cause for you boy I dont know
(the way)
The way you walk and
(the way)
The way you talk and
(the way)
You really like to move it
(the way)
The way you dress and
(the way)
The way you dance and
(the way)
You really like to groove it
You remind me
You remind me

And the way you walk and
The way tou talk and
The way you move it
You remind me, yes you do
The way you dress and
The way you dance and
You realy like to groove it

Reminds Me Of You

A bunch of dead flowers, kept in a vase
And its all that remind me of you
Why do I keep them, well might you ask
Theyre all that remind me of you
Two seperate people, two seperate ways
And I hope they may pass again
Withered and dead like, your love for me
And theyre all that remind me of you
Once fresh and green now no, honey for the bee
Theyre all that remind me of you
A bunch of dead flowers kept in a vase
And theyre all that remind me of you
Why do I keep them, well might you ask
Theyre all that remind me of you
Theyre all that remind me of you
Theyre all that remind me of you
