I would like to cite an instance which proves the efficacy of clean living on the part of an athlete coupled with the inspiration received from a champion which go a long way to making a champion.

We All Champion Our Favorites
We all champion our favorites,
With a wish that they do well.
We all desire to want what we enjoy,
And love the most,
Appreciated by others...
With a lifting up of a glass that signals,
A reason has arrived to praise with a toast.
We all wish to salute that which is deserving,
To acknowledge an appreciation shown.
We all would love to do this without hesitation.
But our wishes to do it,
Seldom is done to be seen...
By those who are living to have them made aware,
Just how much they've done for others mean.
We all champion our favorites,
Long after they have left the scene.
With wishes they could see and hear,
What they have done to achieve...
Has finally been given a respect received.

Willie Neenan Is Still Running
Willie Neenan is still running as running to him is as much a part of his life
As the lives of his athletic daughters and of Marie his good wife
An Irish champion in his seventies and an Irish champion in his prime
No doubt Millstreet's greatest athlete he's proved that time after time.
Willie Neenan is still running to me that comes as no surprise
He runs in sunny weather and when the rain pours from the skies
He has run in the depths of Winter in the frost and in the snow
Willie Neenan was a champion more than fifty years ago.
He won a World silver medal for Ireland at the Master's Games in San Juan in eighty three
Losing out on gold by the narrowest of margins in his surge for victory
The Pipers band came out to play for him in Millstreet his Hometown
He had proved himself against the World's best cannot keep a good one down.
Willie Neenan is still running his great victories we recall
Of Millstreet's many famous athletes the most famous of them all
He was an Irish champion when I was a schoolboy
And he will go on running until the day he die.

Also Ran
Why is it men must strive to win
The pleasure lies in taking part,
the simple joy of joining in
To finish last is no great sin.
So why not be an also ran
at least it proves that you can run.
You’re not ashamed to show you can
take part in anything for fun
Somebody must be champion.
Why worry if it is not you
He will be beaten by someone
and lose his place. They always do
Today he may hold pride of place
Tomorrow is another race.

Believer
Life is what you make it
At least that's what they say
Well, I think I'm going to make it
Fulfill my dreams one day
I feel this fire growing
Deep inside of me
I'm so inspired knowing
That it's my destiny
I breathe like a champion
I dream I'm a champion
I think I'm a champion
That's led to be
My will's getting stronger
I can't wait any longer
I'm singing a song
That's inside of me
Cause I'm a believer
I know that I can't fake it
No matter what they say
Cause I'm a believer
The future is now
And it starts today
Everyday I'm waiting
Trying to find the patience
So close I can taste it
But sometimes it's so hard
But I'm gonna keep on pushin'
And I'm gonna to keep on fightin'
And I'm gonna to keep on tryin'
Because I've come too far
I breathe like a champion
I dream I'm a champion
I see I'm a champion
It's meant to be
My will's getting stonger
I can't wait any longer
I'm singing a song
That's inside of me
Cause I'm a believer
I know that I can make it
No matter what they say
I'm a believer
The future is now
It starts today
Believer, oh
The future is now
It starts today

Right Now
Are you ready for me?
Yeah?
I thought so
No, nothing will stop it
You can waste your time
Yeah, you feel desire
You made up your mind
PRE - CHORUS:
Feel it
Taste the victory
Feel it burning
Burning inside of me
CHORUS:
Right now (Hey!)
I will be your champion
This is where we belong
Making it happen now! (Hey!)
Nothing will stop us
Won't pull us under
It's gonna start right now!
There is no end to this, no
As far as I can see
And we will not falter
Yeah, we can share de dreams
PRE - CHORUS
CHORUS
Here we go
(Who, who said that?)
[x3]
Here we go
You wanna do this?
CHORUS:
Right now (Hey!)
I will be your champion
This is where we belong
Making it happen now! (Hey!)

The reason sport is attractive to many of the general public is that it's filled with reversals. What you think may happen doesn't happen. A champion is beaten, an unknown becomes a champion.

The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion. That's what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens.

Thanks
For everything you are
For everything you were
For always taking care
For always making sure
For never giving up
For never giving in
You are the champion
Thanks
For everything you are
For everything you were
For always taking care
For always making sure
For never giving up
For never giving in
You are the champion
While your babys laughin
While your babys cryin
While your babys losin
Recklessly abusing
You never turned your back
You never walked away
You would only smile
You would only say
Everything is fine
Itll all work out
And everything is okay
As long as Im around
I will be your thread
While your babys laughin
While your babys cryin
While your babys losin
Recklessly abusing
You never turned your back
You never walked away
You would only smile
You would only say

The situation right after the fight wasn't too good; I believe I'm still the only champion in the world who never received the belt inside the ring once you've won the title. I held that against the English fans for a long time but I felt that also motivated me.

Don't Shout when You Wipe Out
To those misguided,
And surfing to ride...
On the crest of waves,
Behind those who champion...
The act as a challenge,
And not a followed task.
Don't shout when you wipe out!
Screaming for the attention you seek.
If the water is too deep...
And you wish to touch the sand,
By using your own abilities.
It will be your own feet,
Upon which you will eventually stand...
To explain why you surf,
When you are not yet deserving...
To qualify yourself as a champion!

Nimble and Quick
It’s the first Olympics on the moon,
And the crowd is all in helmets and suits.
Out walks the champion at the crack of noon,
And kicks the moon-dust from his boots.
The pole-vault is the upcoming event,
But no high bar is seen in the sky.
Aloft in a rocket module the champion went,
To his homebound spacecraft flying high.

The Champion
Gaze upon the stake,
Flames will soon start to embrace
Condemned, auto da f,
Shes about to fall from grace
In the land of the rising sun
Shadows are falling again
The die is cast, the future and past
Coming to her at last
Oh, oh, oh
All she needed was a champion
Oh, oh, oh
Crying for a saviour to fight for her life
Behold, the freedom cries
By the dying of the light
Too late to justify
For vindication upon this night
In the land of the rising sun
Shadows are falling again
From out of nowhere, a rider declared
To answer her final prayer
Oh, oh, oh
He stood up to be the champion
Oh, oh, oh
He became the saviour that fought for her life
Face to face, eye to eye
The saviour fought to save her pride
Far beyond the starlit skies, the encounter went on
Gaze upon the stake,
As the flames start to embrace
A life, an act of faith,
Long-lost gone without a trace
In the land of the rising sun
Shadows are falling again
The die is cast for the future and past
Came for her at last
Oh, oh, oh
All she needed was a champion
Oh, oh, oh
Crying for a saviour to fight for her
Oh, oh, oh
He stood up to be the champion
Oh, oh, oh
He became the saviour that fought for her life
