I've become so earthy. And I never was earthy. I'm doing all kinds of different roles which are not at all like the intellectual and the legal mind of Ben Stone.

Old Songs And Rhymes and Ballads
I love old fashioned earthy stuff old ballads and old rhyme
To modern sophisticated writing I'd prefer it anytime
But that is my opinion and though everyone's opinion ought to count
The opinions of one person to little does amount,
I love old fashioned earthy songs I love to sing along
with the folk or ballad singer of a loved familiar song
Perhaps I do seem boring as old fashioned I am known
But to each their preference like 'tis said to each their own,
I am not anti modern writers in case you get me wrong
But I could listen to ballads and rhyme in an old pub all night long
And with what I say if you are one who choose to disagree
You are entitled to your opinions and that's okay with me,
I may seem a bit dated but give me the earthy stuff
Old songs and rhymes and ballads for me are good enough.

A Cypress-Bough, and A Rose-Wreath Sweet ( song )
Act IV, scene iii
A cypress-bough and a rose-wreath sweet,
A wedding robe, and a winding-sheet,
A bridal bed and a bier.
Thine be the kisses, maid,
And smiling Love's alarms;
And thou, pale youth, be laid
In the grave's cold arms.
Each in his own charms,
Death and Hymen both are here;
So up with scythe and torch,
And to the old church porch,
While all the bells ring clear:
And rosy, rosy the bed shall bloom,
And earthy, earthy heap up the tomb.
Now tremble dimples on your cheek,
Sweet be your lips to taste and speak,
For he who kisses is near:
For her the bride-groom fair,
In youthful power and force;
For him the grizard bare,
Pale knight on a pale horse,
To woo him to a corpse.
Death and Hymen both are here,
So up with scythe and torch,
And to the old church porch,
While all the bells ring clear:
And rosy, rosy the bed shall bloom,
And earthy, earthy heap up the tomb.

Barber's Shop
Wait for turn
But deep within
A desire
To be out of turn
Observe
When converse
Very fine points emerge
Earthy dialogue
Earthy, viable solutions
Far from
Quotes of high flying commissions
Which gather dust
And when brushed
Set ablaze
The entire nation.
In the background
Soothing music
Child playing truant with the mirror
Such a populace
Such brains
Why has then the nation
Been in the hands of those
Who have created
Such a chaotic situation.

~ DreamCity ~ Triolet 1
How great my dreamcity, how atoms my eartly city,
Longing for this dream, away from earth,
- I fly in movement, wanting to run like kitty,
How great my dreamcity, how atoms my earthy city,
-Traversing diamond fluvials; Terrenal rivers never to rebirth,
How I deem! The gentiles of dubious; so now there silly,
How great my dreamcity, how atoms my earthy city,
-I dont want to emerge from this beautitud night city

One morning I sat at a ridge
At the bank of a stream
one morning I sat at a ridge,
surrounded by ferns, under an old oak tree
in a wild garden, never spaded by man
with aloes, protea’s and lilies that grew by themselves,
one morning I sat at a ridge,
where branches were not pruned by man,
an earthy scent hanged there
with aloes, protea’s and lilies that grew by themselves,
I was caught by the creation of God,
as if I could stay there until eternity
an earthy scent hanged there
and later I put a line or two into the water,
roasted fish on the coals,
as if I could stay there until eternity
away from the city’s noise.
At the bank of a stream
I roasted fish on the coals
surrounded by ferns, under an old oak tree.

Is There A Legal Ground
Is there a legal ground?
One can stand on to feel safe and sound.
Is there a legal ground?
One that can be found that's not shaking around.
Is there a legal ground?
One that is near,
Not to be feared...
And if one should fall,
A solidness is clear!
Is there a legal ground?
Anywhere.
One understood.
One that is shared.
Is there a legal ground?
One that is cemented...
Making feelings of it different,
With a jumping up and down...
Packing heavy weighted pounds.
Is there a legal ground?
Around...
To be found!
Is there a legal ground?
Around...
To be found.
Is there a legal ground?
Around...
To be found.
Is there a legal ground?

Ode to the worthy, earthy and free versey
Of what would Spring be
Of what pleasures to see
Were it not for the words
Of a poetic potpourri
A bouquet composed Of fresh
and e'er changing compositions
Of prose composed of flesh,
The heart, and earthy renditions
It's the blossoms of Raskin
Whom to me is a rose
In the pleasure in the reading
As is the scent to the nose
It's the petals Of JewelPhoenix
Which she scatters about
Wonders of her writing
Would be hard to be without
It's Iroconnell, s earthy scent
Of musk and of nectar
That's prosed forth and then spent
To delight those around her
Spring brings also weeds
Like myself and many others
Like thorny Raggindragon, Daddyotom
And many other of my brothers
But today this poem of Spring
Is given to poetesses
Who escape from the trite,
Mundane everyday excesses
Deign to be different
Who, like seedy, Mother Nature
Cast their blossoming thoughts
To the winds of poetic nomenclature
We all write poetry and
By and large we all do it well
But just a few…a favored few
Can gift us the taste, the feel, and the smell
Of not just free verse, nor even of rhyme
Nor so flowery, or convoluted, as often are mine
Just Simple, pure… unadorned…
sweet, honest and sublime
And always poetic, as is Mother Nature
(at least most of the time!)

Song #2.
Have I not touched thy spirit?
Have I not heard it sing?
And can my love inherit
A purer, sweeter thing?
Alas! I am so earthy,
Yet e'en God's love might be
Less dear to thee, less worthy
Than my humanity.

All Kinds Of Time
The clocks running down
the teams losing ground
to the opposing defense
the young quarterback
waits for the snap
when suddenly it all starts to make sense
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he takes a step back
he's under attack
but he knows that no one can touch him now
he seems so at ease
a strange inner peace
its all that he's feeling somehow
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he thinks of his mother
he thinks of his bride to be
he thinks of his father
his two younger brothers
gathered around the wide screen t.v.
he looks to the left
he looks to the right
and there in a golden ray of light
and there his open man
just like he planned
the world is his tonight
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time

People need to be peppered or even outraged occasionally. Our national comedy and drama is packed with earthy familiarity and honest vulgarity. Clean vulgarity can be very shocking and that, in my view, gives greater involvement.

She Takes
She takes one step back
And falls to the ground
Can not seem to stop laughing
Joking they say to all she has done
Not nearly what she sees tonight
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time
Drinking with despair they take her down
Throwing it all around
She has no money to spare
As she ask for help from her friends
All kinds of time he says
All kinds of time
He has all kinds of time
Writing it all for him to see
The way he use to be
No father around as she passes out
From not sleeping she's been wishing
All kinds of time they say
All kinds of time
All kinds of time to break her down
Nothing around as she picks herself up
In a place that has no name
Came on a bus with a bottle
She's been drinking
She settles down with no help
Can't remember the last night she felt sound
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time

At The Junction
now we must
part ways at the junction
of
this earthy path
where rocks still hurt
it
is time for me to say
what an end
is
all about give me
a smile
at this junction
where you
are no longer you
where i
will
face the light
with open hands
taking me
to
the place called
Home.

West Wind
the wind
that comes from far
through the open door
the wind that carries the fragrance
of the earthy blossoms
the wind that sings the melody
of the nightingale
the wind that cools the hot vapours
i love to sit here
and feel the wind
the gentle caress
of the west wind

Love's Prayer
Beloved, this the heart I offer thee
Is purified from old idolatry,
From outworn hopes, and from the lingering stain
Of passion's dregs, by penitential pain.
Take thou it, then, and fill it up for me
With thine unstinted love, and it shall be
An earthy chalice that is made divine
By its red draught of sacramental wine.

Man a system of the Divine
man is just a system of God
the image he breathes into
that since has been blessed
wiith a stake in the heavens
man is a spiritual side of God
carrying an earthy facade
- well he is made of dust -
that refuses to set his spirit free
man is just a system of God
who wishes to take him up
to him with the dignity of a
God made - one who has
left behind the the animal in him
man is just a system of God
for when the Almighty fumes
he can easily feel his Spirit
distancing from him, his mind
wondering whereforth he has
done wrong, or whereforth
his love ones have gone wrong

Quiet Joy.
No Lethean ease, but such a mood as craves
For naught in earth and heaven, just to breathe
The simple air of our reality
Like creatures of the season, — earthy, and
Made for the earth, at one with all things here;
So in the generation of ourselves
To have the certainty of peace, and find
The natural favour of our functioning
Sufficient till the end ensue.

The Shadowlands
The Shadow-lands are here about,
hidden from even the most devout.
There those who were, then ceased to be,
enjoy post mortem revelry.
Their ghostly visage sight unseen
by downcast kin that sob and keen.
They linger but a moment, then.
they head off to the shadow-lands.
There they are young and strong and free,
much more than simple memories.
When their earthy foibles are recalled
they laugh hardest of us all.
They’re close whenever called to mind;
The shadow folk are calm and kind.
For they who were, then ceased to be,
well know what mortals fail to see.
Only they can understand
who’ve traveled to the shadow-lands.
