I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts, but I never noticed.
The way I play, I go through a set in a year. So I put '58 Gibson Jumbo Bass frets on all my necks.

After I changed the string we picked up right where we left off - and punched back in at the same time. I don't know if this has ever been done before. The engineer sort of looked at us weird, but we got it on the first take.

With A Wish To Be Seen
I saw you the other day.
And you 'acted' as if,
You didn't know nobody!
'I did?
And where were you? '
Standing in the same line you were in,
At the grocery store the other day.
And the end of that long line.
'If I didn't see you,
Why didn't 'you' say something to 'me'? '
I'm not like that.
I don't like to bring undo attention to myself.
And besides...
You could have turned around,
To see who was standing behind you.
'You are so right.

Aren't you glad I didn't?
That would have brought an undo attention,
You certainly didn't ask for.
