And therefore we must seek dialogue in this networked world. We must ask which voice was actually attempting to make itself heard and saw no other possibility of gaining a hearing. To that extent, for a while this also represented a forced opening of a cosmopolitan view.

To Whom This May Concern
You trying to be my best friend...
Again?
Emailing me information,
I don't need.
Or attempting to feed my curiousity?
After not hearing from you...
In decades it seems.
Did I 'assume' you kicked me to the curb?
Or were your words...
'I don't want to have nuthin to do with you,
'EVER! '
Hit a nerve?
You trying to be my best friend...
Again?
When I remembered the last call I made to you,
You pretended not to know me.
Or my name.
Changing your voice!
And claiming...
I had called a wrong number.
I've got 'your' number!
I'll consider responding to your email...
Addressed to,
To Whom This May Concern.
You trying to be my best friend...
Again?
Emailing me information,
I don't need.
Or attempting to feed my curiousity?
After not hearing from you...
In decades it seems.
And you 'had' to have done some research.

Nine Voices
Anderson/squire/howe/white/sherwood/khoroshev
On a beach
North africa
Nine tribesmen stand alone
Waiting for a distant call
Waiting for the world to answer
Thru' the night of a thousand stars
Encircled by the light
They began to sing a new song
Of forces that surround us
Nine voices

Nine voices
When the sun came up they sang
As the perfect calendar says
Each had the power of people
Speaking new languages
They gave forgiveness meaning
New ways of letting go
Each child is born for greatness
With forces that surround them

Theres A New World Just Opening For Me
Now I know just what Ive been doing wrong,
Life seems empty, but it wont last for long.
I shant go on this way.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Been alive, but it could be lying down. [? ]
Just cant tell when the devils on the prowl.
I cant pretend no more.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Win the battle, but the victory brings you pain.
You make confessions, but you do the same again.
I wont go on this way.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
I wont go on this way.
Theres a new world just opening for me.

Their self-defense
When the incident happened
Three of them took turns
Mauling the victim
Using firewood they hit
His nape, using their fists
They hit his face and arms
And back and when he knelt
For mercy, they still kick him
And spit on him, until he fell
To the ground
Losing his view of what
This world is all about
Is this world all about hatred?
Is this world all about violence
Inflicted by a brother to another
Brother? Is dialogue not a
Possibility to settle this war?
That night, he saw dead stars and blood
Not the beautiful stars in his poems
But the stars of pain & grief when he
Lost his consciousness
When his eyes were forced to close
Now he invokes the law
Against them who almost
Killed him
He invokes the law of the just
On his lacerated lip and
Multiple injuries around
His human body
And I listened to the defense
Of the three accused
They say they were only
Defending themselves
Because he wanted to talk
To them on the dead of the night
And wanted an explanation
About the grudge of this world
Against him and his kindness
He stared at them and they
Did not like it, his eyes
Stabbed them
With so much light and it
Was also painful
The stare was grievous
I looked at the eyes of pain
On his complaint and today
I made a decision
The verdict, of course
Is Guilty.

No Other Interests Expressed
Of a confrontational state of mind.
There seem to be many existing like this...
Attempting to bait others,
To address the same purposelessness...
With such a waste of time.
Mentally conflicted,
With a limited point of view.
And doing what they wish...
Since there is nothing else,
For them to do.
With no other interests expressed.
Accept to digest an unhappiness.
And gaining more attention at it...
From a depressing uselessness felt.
Obtained from a self centeredness.
Maintained and to them consciously dealt!

Cosmopolitan
Im okay, youre okay
Why remember when it wasnt this way
See my home, see my car
And the beach always used to seem so far
And no one touches me
Unless its the way I want it to be
I know I read the right magazines
Im cosmopolitan
And I dont look back
Im alright, sleep at night
Used to lie awake listening to cats fight
See my hair, see my shoes
And I used to be scared of the dark too
And no one touches me
Unless its the way I want it to be
I know I read the right magazines
Im cosmopolitan
And I dont look back
Cosmopolitan
And no one touches me
Unless its the way I want it to be
I know I read the right magazines
Im cosmopolitan
And I dont look back

Represented By Observation
People do not listen with intent to comprehend.
People hear what they want to.
Even if the words they hear were never mentioned.
He specifically stated 'No acts of terror will be condoned'.
And those hearing what they wished heard him say this,
'What was done was an act of terror'.
Even with his taped remarks repeated...
Those who oppose his comments,
Still hear what they want to hear.
Because people do not listen to achieve clarity.
And this is represented by observation.
To describe and act not yet committed,
Is different than hearing those insisting...
There was something they heard,
But nothing of it was mentioned...
To fit their twisting of it.
~So what is it that you're saying? ~
'I like my pizza topped with onions, green peppers...
Roasted red peppers and saugage.'

We Who....
we who would seek a home,
find our home with the homeless.
we who seek truth,
know the tree to be a tree!
we who seek liberty,
throw all that we own onto the fire.
we who seek love,
feed the hungry.
we who seek companionship,
simply become dialogue...
we who would seek god,
well, all of the above.
we who seek tomorrow,
give today to a stranger...
and wrap his feet up
with our dreams!

Do not seek to find hope among your leaders. They are the repositories of poison. Their interest in you extends only so far as their ability to control you. For you, they seek duty and obedience, and they will ply you with the language of stirring faith. They seek followers, and woe to those who question, or voice challenge. Civilization after civilization, it is the same. The world falls to tyranny with a whisper. The frightened are ever keen to bow to a perceived necessity, in the belief that necessity forces conformity, and conformity a certain stability. In a world shaped into conformity, dissidents stand out, are easily branded and dealt with. There is no multitude of perspectives, no dialogue. The victim assumes the face of the tyrant, self-righteous and intransigent, and wars breed like vermin. And people die.

The Voice of the Negro
All ye nations, pause a moment! listen to the Negro's voice,
Coming up from all vocations where his life has made a choice!
Listen to each rank or station, as you cross the sea of time,
It is heard in ev'ry nation, any race and ev'ry clime.
If you'll go among the tradesmen and their work of worth inspect,
If you'll tarry with the lowly and their lack of skill detect,
If you'll travel o'er the planet, filled with thought, with action stirred,
In them all you'll find, my brother, that the Negro's voice is heard.
Search the patents of invention, or the soldiers record find,
Peep into the author's study, or the poet keep in mind,
In the avenues of science or the broadest fields of art,
You. will hear the voice of Negroes as they bravely play their part.
As good lawyers and physicians, or as men who're called to preach.
As an orator and statesman who the hearts of people reach,
As you view the great professions that have made the world rejoice,
If you'll listen for a moment, you will hear the Negro's voice.
'Tis a voice that cries for justice, not for favors to be shown,
For an equal chance with others, for a manhood of its own,
Give that voice a proper hearing in the forum of the world,
Then all prejudice and envy from the race will soon be hurled.

Lazyman's Wise Prayer
LAZYMAN'S WISE PRAYER
If to that extent RICH indeed
I need not have to toil hard instead
If to that extent SHREWD indeed
I would have skipped some years instead
If to that extent BRAVE indeed
I could'nt have lost on more counts instead
If to that extent READY indeed
I should'nt have to repent now instead
If to that extent FOUGHT indeed
I ought to have won fast instead
If to that extent all B A D indeed
Better I should'nt have the right to live instead

Buddhist Lesson # 2
enlightment,
the act of opening,
like a rosebud,
like a mother,
opening the door...
like a child
opening a present,
like a woman
opening to a man....
opening...
all the hidden chambers,
every door to every
secret kingdom of the soul.....
opening the box that holds
your secret thoughts, desires....
opening...
the door of the cage,
letting the winged breath fly....
opening....
your heart to itself,
and to all hearts beating....
opening....
the vault of conceptions,
the entrance to the tomb
of past lives and memories....
opening...
your hands to the world
as if it were your neighbor,
and you, it's home!

Ive Been Hearing Things About You
Have I gone crazy
Is there someone new
Something strange is going on
Between me and you
But tell me baby
Tell me its not true
cause Ive been hearing things about you
Are you unhappy
Are you lonely too
Wont you tell me face to face
What youre gonna do
Well I still love you
But Im nobodys fool
Ive been hearing things about you
Yeah I heard Ive been dancin
When youre out there runnin round
And I heard youve been seein
Some stranger you have found
And I heard youve been thinkin
About tellin me were through
Yeah Ive been hearing things about you
Yeah I heard youve been thinkin
About tellin me were through
Ive been hearing things, oh I aint naming names
Ive been hearing things about you

No Proof
What I remember can’t be true
and yet to me it seems to be.
I can remember living through
another life lived previously.
Perhaps I’m wrong and they are real
is it a possibility?
I must confess it has appeal
I ponder on it endlessly.
If it were true it would explain
to some extent the mystery.
Are we reborn to live again?
successive lives, serially.
I can’t accept as many do
We will be judged on one life span
Although this is the Christian view
because I’m not a Christian.
The eastern mystics all suggest
That we must pay for all we do
In every life we face a test
there is some task that we must do.
I am inclined towards that view
It seems to make good sense to me.
Much more than paradise would do
be bored for all eternity.
I do not know but can accept
that such a law would simplify.
What everybody can expect
will happen when they come to die.
Heaven, hell and purgatory
would all be relegated to
the status of a fairy story.
But I can’t prove my dreams are true.

Which One Is More Likely To Succeed?
Is the pain of hearing a 'no',
Easier to take...
For one accustomed to hearing it.
And continues to move on...
To another destination.
With the feeling that the act itself,
Will eventually reveal someone attracted....
To a practice of whistled bird calls?
Or will a door slammed on a foot,
Of one more aggressive and determined...
To make an impression,
Regardless of the circumstances.
And has taken painkillers,
To prepare no matter what the response.
Knowing what is done will attract someone.
And the gaining of empathy will be given,
Before the cops are called and come.
Which one is more likely to succeed,
In getting what is believed is deserved?
Or have they both been addicted to delusion?

The Power of the Voice
Have we become such a slave to social media that we forgot the power of the voice?
Hearing I love you is so much more meaningful then seeing a smiling avatar with a heart.
Actual of hearing the sound of someone laughing is more joyful then LOL.
Someone saying I am sorry is more powerful than a face with a teardropp running down.
As much as we communicate with one another these days to me it seems as if the world has gone mute.
We have forgotten the power of the voice.
