The north of the Central African Republic is now a war zone, with rival armed bands burning villages, kidnapping children, robbing travelers and killing people with impunity.

This Culture Of Impunity
This culture of impunity,
Raising up lack of unity,
Killing all the art of creativity,
Disregarding the countries majority,
Letting the country in hands of stupidity,
A people with no activity,
This culture of impunity,
One that is killing humanity,
Killing each other in the community,
A government of totality,
One that forgets society,
Breaching all the arts of morality,
This culture of impunity,
One that has forgotten reality,
Embracing mediocrity,
Leading to future uncertainty,
Activating public liability,
But concealing its materiality,
This culture of impunity.

The Travelers
We're travelers and we have no home,
We're travelers and we are trying to atone,
We're travelers and we have no name,
We're travelers with no one to blame,
Travelers who have no shame,
Travelers who all look the same,
Travelers who still love you,
But we prefer skies blue,
We don't play the game you do,
We also never feel blue,
We only know what is true,
We also know what's good for you,
We don't need your superstition,
We can't believe in repetition,
We don't like your traditions,
We only have our intuition,
We're travelers, we can take the pain,
We're travelers, you think we're insane,
We're travelers, we see your principles sway,
We're travelers, we still love you anyway,
Traveling time, through dirt and grime,
Hoping one day to align,
Our hearts and minds,
Travelers who will leave a sign of better times.

I wanted to work on this central problem of killing. How you go about killing. Now, in the film I had to kill my children - well, I didn't want to get that far.

Just able barely to mount a horse and ride about a little in the spring of 1866, my life was threatened daily, and I was forced to go heavily armed. The whole country was then full of militia, robbing, plundering and killing.

Invasion
The Vikings are coming, You'd better get ready for we're having a fight
The longboats are coming, looking like dragons in the dead of the night
Muster the men from all the villages
You'd better get ready to fight with your enemies
Beacons are burning, I'm giving the word to get ready to fight
The battle is nearing, You'd better get ready to fight for your lives
Muster the men from all the villages
You'd better get ready to fight with your enemies
The Norsemen are coming, The Norsemen are coming
The warnings are given, The Norsemen are coming
The Norsemen are coming, The Norsemen are coming
The warnings are given, The Norsemen are coming
Raping and pillaging, Robbing and looting the land
Raping and pillaging, Robbing and looting the land
Viking raiders from afar
The Norsemen are coming, The Norsemen are coming
The warnings are given, The Norsemen are coming
The Norsemen are coming, The Norsemen are coming
The warnings are given, The Norsemen are coming
Raping and pillaging, Robbing and looting the land
Raping and pillaging, Robbing and looting the land
Viking raiders from afar

Breathes There A Man
Breathes there a man,
Or just a respondent
Says the survey team.
He has done good things:
Like killing!
Killing the enemy.
Like robbing!
Robbing the rich.
(Robin Hood, step aside)
And nasty things too:
Ants for the neighbor's crib
Love notes for the neighbor's wife.
That's bad, we're told:
When you mind, birds in a nest,
Always leave the young alone.
Who's this man?
Don't look at me,
Look in the mirror.
For he could be anyone,
You or me
If we choose to be!

Are the Children Alright
In the root zone
The children are camouflaged
In the zone of the sun’s light
The children are building industries
In the zone of bones
The children are mining their flesh
So full of sorrow for the fathers
Whose ignorance has spent
The strength of their muscles
On the wages paid beneath
The shadow of commerce
In the war zone
The children are catching bomb
With their skin and they dream
Of how with ease is dying done
In the zone of the moment
The children are counting
The thin dogs running wild
In the wilderness on the out skirt of town
In the comfort zone
The children are cautious
Of fathers who whisper
Familiarity of the beauty sons
In the zone of disbelief
The children are straining
To hear the echo of a mystery
Told about the current constellations
When the children were gathering
In squalor beneath the journey
That has taken control of them
As an unsettled melody
In the zone of the market place
The children are faceless laborers
Fearless and faultless of the wars
For food we wage
In the zone of hunger
The children are bloated
To their bones
Their skin drapes
The flies drink from their eyes
In the zone of urgency
The children are baring weapons
At sunrise and putting on
A grown up’s uniforms

African Roses
Bye-bye to the African Roses,
For many years you stood strong as leaders in the name of nations;
But the youths stood up and blew you people away like a candle in the wind.
Oh North African leaders! !
Now the day is over on you people;
For your wings of leadership can no longer fly up high through the wind.
Inclusive and exclusive,
The blues and the jazz of the North African Nations are now dying out,
And the dictators are now seen by all of us in the world.

Genocide
When they try to tell you knowledge is a dangerous thing
"it's such a dangerous thing"
The people that have it are the people that sin
And the people that need it are the people that can never win
"they can never win"
Let me get you out of here little broken wing
There are people round here that are right
There are people round here that like to sleep at night
There are people round here that go slow
There are people round here that don't kindly to the killing of the buffalo
When they tear up all the treaties and break up all the plans
"they break up all the plans"
Did you do your duty and kill on command?
Did you know the redman used to roam this land?
"he used to roam this land"
Now the souls of lost warriors blow across the sands
People round here they get it right
People round here we like to sleep at night
There are people round here that go slow
People round here that don't take kindly to the killing of the buffalo, oh no
So listen to my story and listen to it well
"you better listen well"
Listen to the glory of the gory details of the tale i tell
Did you know the redman very well?
"i used to know him well"
Did you know the hunting ground before it became a hell?
There are people round here that are right
There are people round here that like to sleep at night
There are people round here i don't know
There are people round here that don't take kindly to the killing of the buffalo
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing
The killing of the
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing
The killing
So listen to my story of genocide
How they were hunted and slaughtered till there was no place left to hide
Did you know the redman used to hold his head with pride?
Till every man, woman and child were destroyed
There are people round here that get it right
There are people round here that couldn't sleep at night
There are people round here i don't know
There are people round here that don't take kindly to the killing of the buffalo
There are people round here that understand
There are people round here that couldn't give a damn
There are people round here that go slow
There are people round here that don't take too kindly to the killing of the buffalo
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing
The killing of the
They're killing all the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing
They're killing all the
They're killing all the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o
The killing of the buffala-o

Stop The Killing!
he killed Trayvon
with a bullet to the chest.
stone cold murder!
much as we've killed...
Vietnamese children,
South American children,
the children of Iraq,
and Afghanistan...
Japanese children,
Native American children,
and probably next
the children of Iran!
as Dylan mocks:
'with god on our side'...
whose god?
what type of morality
justifies killing children?
we might just as well
be killing our own children!
and in a sense we are!
Trayvon demands justice...
so do the ghosts of all the children...
their faces ingrained in the curse
on our souls, on our land!
stop the killing!

Let Us Forget Our Villages...
Villages, my friend, are no more those heavens.
You used to tell about villages living, I remember.
Villages, my friend, are no more those marvels.
You used to boast about the ones quite variant, I recall.
Villages have begun to grow its heights,
Its vast expanses shrinking to a few yards.
Villages have sent away their caring mothers to the towns,
Villages have driven away their milky animals to the farm houses.
That`s why my friend, I can`t take you to my village
And when you offer to do so, I am not inclined.
Let us hide in the fortress of this city`s hard walls known to us and
Forget our villages where our memories wander as ghosts.

My friend you talk about my people and me
My friend you talk
about my people and me
being equal
to Hitler and the Germans
of the Second World War,
but do not know
that I and most of us Afrikaners
treated black people
like human beings,
never lifted a hand
against one,
that I knew from being
a toddler that they were
Christians as well
when my mother
gave the money that was left
from my father’s funeral fund
for a church to be constructed
in their own community.
How I saw the effect
of the Church Street bomb
killing innocent civilians
on the street
men, women and children
from any race.
How I was forced
to go to the army
and to war
and patriotic did my duty there
to stop communists killing,
raping and robbing the future
like they did in East Germany,
Hungary in sixty-eight
and with the Portuguese
still living in Mozambique
and in Angola
when that countries
got their independence.
How in Soweto with the army
I had to stop black people
killing black people,
burning their fellow man alive
while their women were
cheering them on
and I saw man more being animals
than human beings
without having any mercy
for each other
having lost all conscience
for their cruel deeds.
You do not know
that I will not quarter
for a country
full of pirates
and not the Orlando
soccer playing type
but people who rob,
kill, maim and rape
that there’s no other escape
for Afrikaner people like me
and nowhere else to go
that I love this land
maybe more than
my forefathers did
who sacrificed
their lives for it
that my great grandfather Japie Strydom
lost his farm in the Cape colony
when as a Cape rebel
he joined the war
against the British,
was almost executed
when the war ended
was imprisoned on St. Helena,
that his wife
died in a British concentration camp
where she was fed finely grinded glass
in the flour given to her
that I want to get rid
of oppression against me
and my fellow Afrikaners
and want to have a life
like any one else.

Killing Yourself
Move up from the table
Stick her arm let her go
Dropped dime on me last time
By morning his blood turned bold
Runnin from the law since monday
cause suzy went down on time
Got enough to last till sunday
So Im burning on down that line
Killing yourself
Killing yourself
Killing yourself
K-k-k-killing yourself
Move up from the table
Fat man going down
Some run from the big gun
Some just run from the sound
Runnin from the law since monday
cause suzy went down on time
Got enough to last till sunday
So Im burning on down that line
Suzy was a bad child
Always on the wrong side
Ah, she was no good
She was bad, bad, bad with the bad cats
Always punching the needle in her arm
Ah, but when shes good, shes so damn good
Killing yourself
Killing yourself
Killing yourself
K-k-k-killing yourself
Youre just killing yourself

Hope for a new tomorrow
I saw it in the faces
of homeless people
standing around drums,
with glowing coals
trying to get hot
at red-hot flames.
I saw it on the faces
of people living in villages
in a war zone,
that went forth with their lives
as if the war didn’t exist.
Still I wonder when
the new morning is coming
and every day,
I watch the horizon
and look at the blue sky above me
to see if You
do not appear on the clouds.

God Is The Only Shepherd To Me (In Answer To L.R.)
Not Nelson Mandela, Thabo Mbeki,
or Jacob Zuma is a shepherd to me
and to them I do not bow my knee
as they are not godly
and their policies and laws rob me,
leave me needy and make me want,
robbing me of my university education,
robbing me of my experience,
depriving me from work,
leaving my people to be killed in cities,
to be murdered on farms
leading me to destruction
and I do not fear the evil
that is unleashed against me,
I do not fear to be without a job,
even a temporary one
I do not resist paying income taxes
to a corrupt government
of which the departments
do not function properly
even if people try to threaten me,
even when my property and two of my cars
have been stolen,
and the South African Police
are too inadequate to find them back
and I am driven into poverty
as the Sheppard in heaven feeds me, supports me
and with His mighty hand shields me.
