To let the people know there was life beyond Shirley Dean, we decided to focus on voter registration; each day I set up my card table somewhere in the district, signed people up, and passed out noses.

Don't Be Alarmed By This

Don't be alarmed by this.
But there are people who actually believe,
They have a purpose with a faithfulness
To keep their noses up in other people's business.
And,
With dedication.

Some go to the extent,
To let it be known they stalk.
With a creation of all movements to gossip.

Others are so obsessed,
They tell others 'who' it is they know.
That they have yet not met
With the detailing of what that one has done,
From the moment they leave to return to their doorstep.
And who enters their home and what time that person left.

Don't be alarmed by this.
But there are people who actually believe,
They have a purpose with a faithfulness.
To keep their noses up in other people's business.
And,
With dedication.

Shirley Sherrod

It was early Shirley learned,
She would be propelled to excell...
In the fight against the right,
For anyone to ignite...
Racial injustices.

Shirley told a story,
About her life!
Not to glorify the strife she faced.
But to eliminate misunderstandings to erase.
And edited her good deeds from a speech she made,
To entice a hatred meant...
By those who wished Shirley's descent.
Those who used deceit and...
Devilment.

For purposes to exclude,
Shirley's full and precise comments infused.

It was early Shirley learned,
She would be propelled to excell...
In the fight against the right,
For anyone to ignite...
Racial injustices.

Shirley intended to end,
Experiences with pointless discrimination some defend.
By using her position,
To effect better conditions.
But one sentence made and reported out of context,
Affected the influence to show Shirley at her best.
And she was fired!
Yes.
Because Shirley inspired.
Yes.
And those who supported Shirley,
Became upset and began to protest.

'We must overcome,
Those divisions some welcome.
We have to do this for ourselves.
Since where we are as a people...
Exposes a magnified sadness.
That documents a backward movement tracked.'

A fiasco started to discredit Shirley Sherrod,
With Black and White attacks...
That keep all strapped and attached to traps,
Must end!
Before the blindness of divisiveness...
Ruins a nation of various colors and ethnic blends.

Dedicated:
To Shirley Sherrod.
A USDA Official fired from her job,
For not only going beyond the call of duty...
But also dignifying the human race,
With her commitment to ensure justice...
Is there to represent 'all' people.
Not just the 'rich'.
But also those who are defenseless.

~She is to be 'admired'.
Not fired!
Lifted and praised.
Not disgraced by racists...
With limited days.~

I Decided

[Chorus]
I decided to stay home tonite
I decided I'ma treat you right
I decided to be there for you
Decided to be on my P's and Q's
I decided to give up my friends
Decided I'ma take you out weekends
Decided to give you a reason to trust
These are decisions that I make for love

[Verse 1]
Enough is enough no more running around
(Searchin' for what's right here at home)
Because my luck is 'bout to turn around
(And I just can't keep doin' you wrong)
Girl I take it for granted that you will be here always
(Tired of this ego trip)
'Cause soon you'll be searchin' for another man
And I just can't have that happen to me

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]

Now I've had about all that I can stand no more
(I'm turnin' in my playa's card)
See I'm retirin' from the secret life I chose
(Cause I just can't keep breakin' your heart)
It was silly of me to be the way that I was
(First was blind

They Are The Ones That Others Envy

I have issues with people who leave people...
Begging on the streets with nothing to eat.
Or treat others like they're not even human equals.
And then look disgusted like they are diseased

No human being can teach a cat hygiene.
Nor can you teach a grown up to be clean.
Nobody should be teaching who to respect.
That should be a given and not a pick to peck.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?

Who made them runner up for fresh sainthoods?
Who showed them evilness was anything good?
Who gave them rights to think they beam like light?
And who told them they approve the Sun that rises high!

Yes I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
As if they have scents of champion roses.
Ooo I can't believe these people are the ones who stink.
And-they-believe,
They are the ones that others envy?

They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
They believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

I have issues with the snots with turned up noses.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.
And they believe,
They are the ones that others envy.

Why are people always cheating?
Why are people always fighting?
Why are people always dieing?
Why are people always crying?
Why are people always hating?
Why are people always debating?
Why are people always trading?
Why are people always trying to fit in?
Why are people always cursing?
Why are people always bursting?
Why are people always tripping?
Why are people always not trying to be fair?
Why are people always trying to be dumb?
Why are people always playing too much?
Why are people always misbehaving?

Why are people always not trying to have a future?

Cards Of Care

Care is not a card on which is written everything,
Internal behaviour surprises nobody;
Cards of records are not enough to supply
Us with care of the sort that masters.
The doctor is rarely featured in magazines
For the entire day, the way is open for health.
The district of doctors heaps gold in the belly,
There is distrust, only some lust for one’s yell.
Distressed people are happier when the life
Is perfect and when you are unperturbed.

In The Business Of Others

People with a knack,
For keeping their noses...
In the business affairs of others,
Are often surprised and quite upset...
By secrets kept,
Others keep hidden away from them...
That are right under their probing noses.
And they become offended,
When the 'info' to another has been revealed.

'I thought you told me you two weren't speaking? '

~We aren't.
We email and text.
Finding this the best way to communicate.
Without the rest of the people 'twisting' what they hear,
Within listening distance.~

'And...
What are you implying? '

Don't Only Focus On The Money

When you go for the money,
You'll be selling your soul.
And when one goes for just the money,
The heart turns cold.
So don't focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't only focus on the money,
Don't.

Bling is nice but there's more to life.
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.
Open your mind with bright wide eyes,
To take a ride that will excite you.
With a view to greater heights.
So...
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.
No don't you focus on the money,
Don't.

When you go for the money,
You'll be selling your soul.
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.

Don't let your heart grow old and cold.
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.
So...
Don't you focus on the money,
Don't.
No don't you focus on the money,
Don't.
So...
Don't you focus on the money,
Don't.
No don't you focus on the money,
Don't.

Don't only focus on the money,
Don't.
No don't you focus on the money,
Don't.
So you just don't focus on the money,
Don't.
So you just don't focus on the money,
Don't.
No don't you focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't only focus on the money,
Don't.

'I feel funny when I don't have any money.'

Don't focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't only focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't you only focus on the money,
Don't.

Don't keep your focus on the fact that you always stay broke.
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't only focus on the money,
Don't.
Don't stay focused on the money,
Don't!
Don't keep your focus on the fact that you always stay broke.
Don't focus on the money,
Don't.

Fred The Clown

Orange, blue, red, white and brown
The favorite colors of Fred the Clown
A happy and jolly clown he is
But some people he likes to tease

Everyone hates to be with Fred the Clown
But Fred never showed the people a frown
He never felt bad for what he did
The hatred inside the people had hid

The people thought of what to do with Fred the Clown
They decided to talk to the mayor of town
He laughed at what the people said
He laughed until his face gone red

The mayor didn't believe the people
For Fred the Clown gives him a tickle
They always the mayor smiled that way
Ever since Fred came each day

He already knew what Fred was doing
So he decided to call Fred for a meeting
The mayor told him what the people had said
And so left poor little Fred

The people decided to give Fred a chance
So Fred the Clown gave them a dance
The dance was so funny that they laughed all day
Fred the Clown will forever stay

Tables Turn And Times Change

For decades.
'D' With 'cades'...
Decades!
The homeless and those hungry,
Have survived outside...
Under carboard, subways
And bus and train stations.
Ignored completely...
By those giving them,
Cornered looks from eyes...
With raised noses.

As those of 'means'...
Treated the people in these scenes,
As if to be invisible.
With a wish,
By those 'of means'...
Not to see 'those' people,
In these scenes.

'Why can't they find jobs?
It is deplorable to see this...
Acceptable laziness.'

But,
The tables turn and times change.
'Those' people are now joined by 'them'.
And 'they' together are finding...
How values swiftly shift,
From mall shopping...
To wishing someone hurries,
From a publicly used restroom!

And newspaper to rub...
Becomes for both of them,
And many with money wearing thin...
A point of focus.

Looking Down Their Nose

There are people the world over
whom think they are better
than everyone.
They’ve got a good education
so they look down on those who haven’t.
I feel sorry for those
they look down their noses at.
One day one of those people
they think lower than them
may just become their boss
and then what would they do.
Grovel on their hands and knees,
their better education
won’t hold much credence then.
They’ll have to look
towards their personality,
but if the person in charge is one of those,
they’ve looked their noses on.
They won’t be able to use it there,
as they will see right through it
at what you really are.
Before you ever look down your nose at anyone.
It might be wise
to think before you act,
for that person may well one day
just happen to be your boss.

Corona 2

whatever is good
belongs to the people

the people is the only
good there is

so? work as usual
the people are coming
and you must open
the doors
and serve their
needs

one must go where
the good is
one must march for
the people

let the one who is in power
be beleaguered
let heads roll
let the people have the toll

i am for the people
they are the only good
that we have

the people has decided
your fate
and now you must
gently yield
and accept.
