Sometimes I'll be playing along and find I'm missing the strings. I'll worry about it for days until I notice that the pick has worn down to half its size.

Missing You
Standing here looking out my window
My nights are long and my days are cold
Cause I don't have you
How can I be so damn demanding?
I know you said that it's over now
But I can't let go
[1] - Every day I want to pick up the phone
And tell you that
You're everything I need and more
If only I could find you
[2] - Like a cold Summer afternoon
Like the snow coming down in June
Like a wedding without a groom
I'm missing you
I'm the desert without the sand
I'm the one without a band
I'm a ring without a hand
I'm missing you
Driving 'round thought I saw you pass me
My rearview mirror's playing tricks on me
Cause you fade away
Maybe I'm just hallucinating
Cause my loneliness got the best of me
And my heart's so weak
[Repeat 1]
[Repeat 2]
Yeah

Invisible Strings
(ian hunter)
One, two, three
Well I woke up this morning - theres a girl in my bed.
How did she get there? was it something I said?
I dont understand it but somehow it seems
She visits me in invisible dreams.
Over and over I try to explain
How did that girl get into my veins?
Did somebody send her - was it my velvet wings?
And how does she touch my invisible strings?
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Now its all over when the fat lady sings
Ill still be playing my invisible strings
Well maybe she dont have a world of her own
Maybe shes using me just like a phone
And sometimes shes cool and sometimes she stings
And Im all tangled up in invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When youre wearing black and Im wearing wings,
Well still be playing those invisible strings
Well she never leaves - Im never alone
I aint in the book but shes still calling home
I tried to lose her - watch the tv
But that womans always picking on me
Well, theres strings round my body, strings round my heart
Id like to know where the string-pulling starts
Id give anything to meet the angel who sends
Invisible ink to my invisible pen
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
When youre wearing black and Im wearing wings,
Well still be playing our invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Now its all over when the fat lady sings
Well still be playing our invisible strings
Invisible strings - invisible strings
Oh yeah

Mama Said
(luther dixon / willie denson)
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
(mama said, mama said)
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
I went walkin the other day, yeah
Everything was goin fine
And then I met a little boy named billy-joe
And then I almost lost my mind
Come on, mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
(mama said, mama said)
Oh, mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
My eyes were wide open
All that I could see, yeah
The chapel bells were tollin
For everybody but me
But I dont worry cause
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
(mama said, mama said)
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
And then she said
Someone would look at me
Like Im lookin at you
One day
Then I might find
I dont want you any old way
So, dont worry, cause
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
(mama said, mama said)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Mama said therell be days like this
Therell be days like this, my mama said
Oh, yeah
(mama said, mama said)
Dont worry, yeah, dont worry, now, yeah, eah, eah, eah
Dont worry, worry, now, now, now
Dont you worry

Horse Pills
So your ex got a mansion where you kick it on the hill,
your boy comes to see you, he's your Hollywood thrill.
He's a Spanish fly, that bucks like a stallion.
In the suits that you got him, he looks more Italian.
You worry bout your tan when the weather's gettin' clammy,
summer in the city and winters in Miami.
You get so high on the high life pills,
cruisin' and boozin' and rockin' on the horse size pills.
You could even take more thrills- you could even take more spills,
pills, thrills, chills and ills man, kills.
And rockin' on the horse size.
Butt's gettin' bigger, do you think he'll notice maybe?
That's ok, don't worry bout it baby!
Cause everybody knows he pumps you for your money, that's alright,
don't worry bout it honey!
In your itsy bitsy teenie weenie riding up your butt bikini.
Keepin' on the heels cause you're saggin'
just a teenie bit more than the girls he pretends he doesn't thrill.
Rubbin' on the lotion, and rockin' on the horse size pills.
You could even take more thrills,
you could even take more spills, pills, thrills, chills, and ills man, kills.
And rockin' on the horse size.
Sometimes you feel like Moses, that's when you're toasted.
Yeah, kick it.
Yo bitch.
That's right, yeah.
Rockin' on the horse size

Shall I Tell You That Once We Were Broken And Unconnected Pieces?
when you find a chain
pick it up
when i find my chain
i pick it up to
and then when we meet
we connect these chains
like some missing links
and then when bound
together we will shout
our newly found freedom

An Old Dusty Guitar
I walked into a shop one day,
in a dusty corner stood an old guitar.
Dust was playing its only refrain now;
no one took much notice
of it standing there
with several broken strings
looking worn and forlorn.
As I stood and looked at it, I
wondered what stories it could tell.
Were you played by someone famous,
and how many footlights did it see? On the other hand,
were you just strummed by someone
dreaming of stardom out of reach?
How far did this dreamer get, oh, old dusty guitar.
How much I would love to hear your story,
but I have to leave much to my regret,
but if your still hear tomorrow,
and I have enough money.
You will no longer be
an old dusty guitar,
for you will belong to me.

Your Always Missing
Something Strong is living on
Even though you’re gone
When I cry my tears
They create rain for you
Because you’re gone
I’m sitting by the bed side
Where you once laid
Many days I cry my self to sleep
And the rain comes to play with me
All I want is just you near
Missing everything that I want to share with you
Every time I close my eyes
I close my eyes with you
And I see your face next to mine
And the rain is above my head tonight
Missing words of lullabies
Sweet tender voice is silent
Rain comes to play
With lightening always striking
And your always missing
Walking in the park
Clouds always gray
Time with you was gone to soon
And theirs only tears and rain
So what is left to say today
Tree’s never swaying
Plants never growing and dancing with you and me
The rain is always here
It’s never that comforting to me
Missing words of lullabies
Sweet tender voice is silent
Rain comes to play
With lightening always striking
And your always missing
I just want to see you again
Singing a song with me
Never again to dance in the rain not without you I won’t
No more playing for me
But the rain is playing with me
Missing words of lullabies
Sweet tender voice is silent
Rain comes to play
With lightening always striking
And your always missing
Never to hear the silent cries
Only angels seem to hear
I’m guessing your up their too
But is the rain playing with you
Missing words of lullabies
Sweet tender voice is silent
Rain comes to play
With lightening always striking
And your always missing today
Your always missing from me
And the rain is crying with me
The Guitarist
Strum the strings
From room to room
The sound will ring
Sealed in its case
Taking up space
I use a pick to play
The guitar, everyday
Playing a chord
Only when I'm bored
Strum the strings
From room to room
The sound will ring
Its base is wood
Its strings are not
When you cannot play
There is nothing to flaunt
Before you play
Tune the sound
Strum on and on
Until a rhythm is found
Strum the strings
From room to room
The sound will ring
I
I have nothing to say
No light to use
No music to play
I'm idle
For I have
No guitar to play

Justice
come and see where it is
you find dancing the sea.
Never find the sky loughing
somewhere in the city.
you find me without
size and shape
the rough road ahead.
come and see
I am missing
in the gitamandir.
And i am somewhere
on the bank of the ganga
where judge is there
to pass order
after the game over.

Johnny Come Home
Nobody knows the trouble you feel
Nobody cares, the feelin' is real
Johnny, we're sorry, won't you come on home
We worry, won't you come on
What is wrong in my life
That I must get drunk every night
Johnny, we're sorry won't you come on...
Use the phone, call your mom
She's missing you badly, missing her son
Who do you know, where will you stay
Big city life is not what they say
Johnny, we're sorry, won't you come on home
We worry, won't you come on
What is wrong in my life
That I must get drunk every night
Johnny, we're sorry won't you come on...
You'd better go, everything's closed
Can't find a room, money's all blown
Nowhere to sleep, out in the cold
Nothing to eat, nowhere to go
Johnny, we're sorry, won't you come on home
We worry, won't you come on
What is wrong in my life
That I must get drunk every night
Johnny, we're sorry won't you come on. home
We worry, won't you come on home...

You Are 'Never' Going To Change
Here it comes, again.
That same denial I make attempts to forget.
The same one about my missing someone loved.
Someone I am trying my best not to admit.
Why me?
Why can't you just leave me alone,
And be about your own business.
Here I sit alone for a few minutes.
With the thought of this on my mind.
And then I believe from me those feelings go.
And then when I 'think' the coast is clear.
Those feelings come again.
They without notice re-appear.
So I pick up the telephone.
Blocking out my number before I dial.
Knowing those feelings once had in me are gone.
To announce very quickly to 'whoever' answers...
That the number I dialed was wrong.
Why me?
I find I am asking myself this,
Constantly.
Here it comes, again.
That same denial I make attempts to forget.
The same one about my missing someone loved.
Someone I am trying my best not to admit.
So I pick up the telephone.
Blocking out my number out before I dial.
Knowing those feelings once had in me are gone.
To announce very quickly,
The number I dialed was wrong.
'Why can't you just leave me alone? '
Excuse me?
Didn't you here me say...
I dialed a wrong number?
You are 'never' going to change!

Whereabouts
Where is the missing one, the missing one
Where is the missing one, the missing one
There is a missing person that Ive just got to find
Now just how long they have been gone
I cant say at this time
I glanced outside my window surprisingly to see
The reflection of a broken man who looked somewhat like me
Im trying to find my whereabouts, what shall I do
When nothing seems to follow through
In me, trying to find my whereabouts, Im turning blue
But wait I may have found a clue
My whereabouts are somewhere in yesterday with you
Where is the missing one, the missing one
I looked inside an album of happy photographs
To try to match the feeling
In the joy I used to have
I travelled through the moments that held a special place
But everytime what came to mind is that smile upon your face
Im trying to find my whereabouts, what shall I do
When nothing seems to follow through
In me, trying to find my whereabouts, Im turning blue
But wait I may have found a clue
My whereabouts are somewhere in yesterday with you
Where is the missing one, the missing one
Im trying to find my whereabouts, what shall I do
When nothing seems to follow through
In me, trying to find my whereabouts, Im turning blue
But wait I may have found a clue
My whereabouts are somewhere lost in yesterday with you
Im trying to find my whereabouts, what can I do
When nothing seems to follow through
In me, trying to find my whereabouts, Im turning blue
But wait I may have found a clue
My whereabouts are somewhere lost in yesterday with you
Where is the missing one, the missing one

Sub Culture (Razormaid!)
I like walking in the park
When it gets late at night
I move 'round in the dark
And leave when it gets light
I sit around by day
Tied up in chains so tight
These crazy words of mine
So wrong they could be right
What do I get out of this?
I always try, I always miss
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt you a little bit
I like talking in my sleep
When people work so hard
They need what they can't keep
A choice that leaves them scarred
A view without a room
Unveils the truth so soon
And when the sun goes down
You've lost what you had found
What do I get out of this?
I always try, I always miss
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt you a little bit
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else

I Don't Call Him Daddy
It was six in the morning
When I made the county line
There's someone I got to talk to
I can't get it off my mind.
He's just a kid
And he's in a pretty rough spot
Two dimes to make a phone call
That's about all I've got.
How's my boy today?
I know it's been three weeks
But you know how far I've got to go
To make those loose ends meet.
How's your mama now
With her new live-in friend
Oh, how I hate the wounds
That never seem to mend.
Chorus:
And he says I don't call him daddy
But he takes care of things
When you pick me up on Friday
Are you gonna bring me anything?
Oh, don't worry dad, ya know
It don't matter what we do
I don't call him daddy
He could never be like you
Never be like you.
God bless their little hearts
They're the ones who really pay
When mom and dad can't get along
And go their seperate ways.
In a way I'm glad there's someone
There to fill the empty place
Tears of understanding
Streak down a dirty face.
Chorus:
And he says I don't call him daddy
But he takes care of things
When you pick me up on Friday
Are you gonna bring me anything?
Oh, don't worry dad, ya know
It don't matter what we do
I don't call him daddy
He could never be like you
Never be like you.
He is quite a little man
Growing up as fast as he can
And I don't get to see him
Half as much as I had planned.
There's so much I need to tell him
So precious little time
A little rain on the window
In a little way goodbye.
Chorus:
And he says I don't call him daddy
But he takes care of things
When you pick me up on Friday
Are you gonna bring me anything?
Oh, don't worry dad, ya know
It don't matter what we do
I don't call him daddy
He could never be like you
Never be like you.
Chorus:
And he says I don't call him daddy
But he takes care of things
When you pick me up on Friday
Are you gonna bring me anything?
Oh, don't worry dad, ya know
It don't matter what we do
I don't call him daddy
He could never be like you
Never be like you...

Missing You
(bernadette cooper)
Everybodys got to cry sometime
I never understood the reason why
Suddenly the answer is so clear Im - missing you
Never thought that we would end this way
And if I only had three words to say
They would simply flow so easily, Im - missing you
Casa blanca and white orchids I sent to you
Just a symbol of hop that you still love me too
Im missing you baby
Im missing you honey
(Im missing you)
We cant be through
Im missing you
If I had a chance once again
Id approach us like a love song
So tenderly Id orchestrate us to be
(a sweet melody)
Sending you romantic cards to remind you of us
Just a token of to entice you to
Come back to love
Im missing you baby
Im missing you honey
(Im missing you)
A love so true
Im missing you darlin
(Im missing you)
Baby I will take the blame
So lets stop playing silly games
If it will bring you back to me
Baby Ill say that Im sorry
I will gladly sacrifice
To have you back in my life
Im beggin you honey please
Come back to me darlin
Everybodys got to cry sometimes
I never understood the reason why
The answer is so clear to me now
Im missing you baby
Im missing you honey
(Im missing you)
We cant be through
Im missing you

I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When this started to happen
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
I just let it begin
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The change in anythin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
When we stopped talkin'
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
We weren't letting each other in
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
That sad, sad trend
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
The beginning of the end
I'm sorry, I didn't notice
You were no longer my friend
But believe me, now I notice
And it hurts deep within
Now that I notice
I hope you'll be again

I've Come to Notice More Now
I've come to notice more now,
The falling snow.
I've come to notice more now,
A certain purpose...
I had disavowed.
I've come to notice more now,
The core of my being with more meaning.
A joy I can express...
With less emphasis on things collected.
And a happiness I always had,
But somehow did not allow.
I've come to notice more now,
I can.
I've come to notice more now,
I will!
I've come to notice more now,
My needs are basically fulfilled.
Without desire to seek approval,
Sought to identify my peace of mind!
I've come to notice more now,
Thoughts like that I have left behind.
And notice, I do...
My blessings!

Sittin On Top Of The World
1. was in the summer,
One early fall,
Just tryin to find my
Little all and all
Now shes gone,
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.
2. was in the spring,
One summers day.
Just when she left me,
She gone to stay.
Now shes gone.
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.
3. now dont come runnin
Holdin up your hand.
Can get me a woman
Quick as you can get a man.
Now shes gone.
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.
4. happen for days,
Didnt know your name.
Oh, why should I worry
Or crave you in vain?
Now shes gone.
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.
5. went to the station,
Down in the yard,
Gonna get me a freight train,
Works done got hard.
Now shes gone.
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.
6. the lonesome days,
They have gone by,
Why should I beg you?
You said good-bye.
Now shes gone.
An I dont worry.
Lord, Im sittin on top of the world.

A Victory Of Love
Waiting for a change in the weather
I'm waiting for a shift in the air,
Could we get it together - ever -
Hoping for your return
Hoping for your sweet, sweet return
Hello - is this how we calling?
Hello - hello
Is somebody there?
She must be somewhere
And then she says
Hello - hello - hello
She's really an angel -
She stands in the sunshine
She's closing her eyes -
She's starting to dream
She's pulling the strings
She's dreaming a strange dream
Where nothing is grey -
Then she takes me away
And she's pulling the strings
When she's playing with love
She's playing with love, hello - hello
Counting - I count every second
And I'm standing
I stand in the rain,
I walk up that lane
Which leads to the sunshine
She stands in the sunshine
She's closing her eyes
Then she takes me away
And she's pulling the strings
When she's playing with love
She's playing with love
Hello - hello
