My father, though, could run very much faster. It was impossible to compete with him on the grass. But it was astonishing how slow old people were. Some of them could not run up a hill and called it trying to climb stairs.

Climb That Hill
Something threw me in the dirt
Kinda got my feelings hurt
We was burnin somewhere down the wind
I had to get up and climb that hill again
Little lucys such a doll
Like to climb her garden wall
But she only sees me as a friend
I got to get up and climb that hill again
I gotta bury my pride, drag this line
Over that hill one more time
Gotta get up in the morning, make my way
Over that hill again
I gotta bury my pride, drag this line
Over that hill one more time
Gotta get up in the morning, make my way
Over that hill again
Tempers flare and the words are spoken
You close one door and another opens
You hear the music and youre wondering
You got to get up and climb that hill
Get up and climb that hill
You got to get up and climb that hill again

Cups
Bubble girl you feel like a movie
Bubble blow a bit faster
Liquid
Bubble fish take fast now
Faster
Bubble fast slow down
The slope
Blue blue
Blue blue
Little girl
You chew girl lie on to you?
Bubble blow
Bit faster
Bit faster christian
Bubble fast slow down
Big slow ?
A bit faster
Everythings good
Dreams of me
To liquid
Dream salty?
Dream of something quick
Deep slice to sometime into my hand
False alarm
Fools imagine into slow black
Slow slow fence
Sneak up light across the horizon
Sneak up last night in moonlight
Party grasses over the ocean
I love to write
Bubble blow you comeback
You slow down
Another blow
Big faster
Big faster
Bubble fish take fast now
Faster
{ba ding ba ding and ba ding}
Drip slowdown

Fetching Water
Come on now; let’s go fetch some water
grab a pail in each hand and let’s go.
Down the hill, to the pond in the holler,
then we’ll climb back up the hill with that water!
Everyone today has forgotten
what it’s like to haul water in a pail.
Every house must have a Jacuzzi,
and a big swimming pool, as well.
Come on now; let’s go fetch some water
grab a pail in each hand and let’s go.
Down the hill, to the pond in the holler,
then we’ll climb back up the hill with that water!
And our homes must have a green lawn
to keep it looking really good!
The water we waste on that green grass
could be used by the farmer to grow food.
Come on now; let’s go fetch some water
grab a pail in each hand and let’s go.
Down the hill, to the pond in the holler,
then we’ll climb back up the hill with that water!
Don’t waste all of that precious water.
We have worked too hard to bring it here.
We can’t live without that precious water
let’s be thankful that it is so near.
Come on now; let’s go fetch some water
grab a pail in each hand and let’s go.
Down the hill, to the pond in the holler,
then we’ll climb back up the hill with that water!
Don’t be taking the water from the farmer
without it his crops will never grow.
All of life depends upon the water
Don’t take it for granted anymore.
Come on now; let’s go fetch some water
grab a pail in each hand and let’s go.
Down the hill, to the pond in the holler,
then we’ll climb back up the hill with that water!

The Hill
Who are those people
living at the top of the hill?
I don't know them.
I guess I never will.
Who are the people
that I see
living at the bottom of the hill
just like me?
We are the complainers
and we find it odd
that the ones at the top of the hill
think they're God.
We need to stop complainin'
and climb up the hill
and shout out loud
'We've had our fill.'
You're not Gods.
You never have been,
These hills where you're livin'
are filled with sin.
You've sinned against humanity
at the bottom of the hill.
And all that you'; ve done
is against God's will.
You're the imposters
with crowns on your head.
You are the laughables
that have been misled.
We, at the bottom of the hill
always will survive.
We'll do what we've always done
to keep our hopes alive.
We will pray.

Before You Wear The Crown
Before the crown we're called to wear
There is a cross that we must bear
Before He struggled up the Hill
He had to choose His Father's will
Before the victory was won
He had to say ' Thy will be done.'
And on the cross He did atone
But not before He prayed alone
If we desire to climb that hill
We must desire to do His will
For victory will not be won
Until we say ' Thy will be done.'
So if you will take up your cross
It'd serve you well to count the cost
For before He died to set you free
He died alone at Gethsemane

Our Secret....
we can see them
climb the stairs we are on the ground
with the grass
we shall share the excitement of
the beginners
we pretend we have not gone there
we shall not tell them
what we found.

Sonnet- My Poetry
I thought I started climbing just a hill;
With time, it dawned to me it was a peak;
I knew I had to climb up further still,
The peak was nowhere seen that I did seek.
I wasn't a mountaineer to begin with;
I slowly learnt to climb requiring skill;
Tho' an accident, my climb had its pith,
With ease I'll climb the summit on the hill.
And now I know the gradient so well,
And dangers of the terrain I climb in;
When I will reach the peak, no one can tell,
But now onwards, my ambition's to win.
A beacon from above doth goad me on,
And soon a dress of starry clouds, I'll don.

Stairs (Fun Poem 58)
Everyday we climb stairs,
up we go and down we come.
Have you ever stop to think
how many steps that you actually climb.
Today I started counting just how many steps
in stairs I climb most everyday.
I was amazed
when I totalled them all up.
It came to just over four hundred steps
I go up and down each day.
At the beginning of the year,
I was six foot seven
and now I am six foot three.
If this goes on at the rate it’s going
at the end of the year I will be a pygmy.

Seconds To Fall
Well it took years to climb that hill
And now we look up to the mountains
As high as you might climb there still
Something we should not forget
It takes seconds to fall
Seconds to fall
Could happen that you can scratch the clouds
Could happen that you come tumbling down
Could be you find yourself at the top of the stairs
Could be youre just another clown
It takes seconds to fall, yeah
Seconds to fall
Seconds to fall, oh yeah
At the top of the stairs, nobody cares
What has been, or what will come
I dont want to preach, no Im not the one
But you better hear me call
It takes seconds to fall, yeah
Seconds to fall
Seconds to fall
Seconds to fall

The Higher You Climb
There is no comeback from the big divide
Maybe theres a future to be found waiting on the other side
If its illusion, then what is real?
In lifes confusion, take what you can
Fight it till you reach the goal.
And the higher you climb you can fall
But never look down
And the faster you run, its a crawl
To the end of the line.
Seems all directions lead to one place
There are no signposts guiding me
It takes a long time to see
And the higher you climb you can fall
But never look down
And the faster you run, its a crawl
To the end of the line.
The age of reason has come and gone
The changing seasons move on and on until you reach the goal
And the higher you climb you can fall
But never look down
And the faster you run, its a crawl
To the end of the line.

Cant Slow Down
(householder, hendrix, pilson)
Listen
If you can take what I can give then listen up
One on one you know my love is dangerous
Heart and soul when Im alone I climb the walls
Baby I just want to have it all
People think Im crazy
They dont see what Im seeing
People think Im crazy
Good lovins never easy at all
At all
You know I cant slow down til the morning after
Baby cant you see
You know I cant slow down
No, I cant slow down at all
If love is blind then I must be delirious
One on one you know my love is serious
Have you had enough cause Im not satisfied
Baby let me take you for a ride
People think Im crazy
They dont see what Im seeing
People think Im crazy
Good lovins never easy at all
At all
You know I cant slow down til the morning after
Baby cant you see
You know I cant slow down
No, I cant slow down at all
Im going crazy
No, I cant slow down til the morning after
Baby cant you see
You know I cant slow down
No, I cant slow down at all
Cant slow down til the morning after
No way
I cant slow down
You know my dangerous
People say Im crazy
Cant slow down til the morning after
Never gonna slow down
Dont take love to serious
I cant slow down at all

It is better for a woman to compete impersonally in society, as men do, than to compete for dominance in her own home with her husband, compete with her neighbors for empty status, and so smother her son that he cannot compete at all.

When Evil Comes
I don? like this anymore than you
In fact I? scared
At the top of the stairs in the dark
Throw away all the dreams you had
Slow and broke
And just for you
You were barely there
Hey little girl where? your momma gone
Has she left you scared
At the top of the stairs
In the dark
It? too late for come backs
And I?e been wrong before
Now I need
I need no more
Except for you
Making up the sides
Evil is when evil comes
At the top of the Stairs
At the top of the Stairs
And in the dark
The world won? listen
And it gets this scared
Standing there at the top of the stairs
In the dark
Come on baby
Let? lose this fear
And let? stand here
Where it? always fair
And never dark

Faster & Faster To Nowhere
Spoken:
Somebody tell me how to get outta here
Tell me how to get out
Oh Im running faster, faster and faster to nowhere
cause the citys closing tighter and tighter around me
Its a nightmare, daymare, its a badmare
No matter which way-mare
So keep running faster, faster faster and faster to nowhere
Spoken:
Unlock it here
You put me in here you did that
Somebody help me get outta here
I need you please, oh
People pushing, shoving, rushing on into the future
Windows open, closing, in a way that they just never used to
Oh theres violence lurking in the alleys
Where no one should dare go
So keep running faster, faster and faster to nowhere
Spoken:
You put me in here
Youre responsible you didnt help me
Somebody
You see the city is closing in on me
Please, oh
Trip to nowhere, trip to nowhere, trip to nowhere
Were gonna take a little
Trip to nowhere, trip to nowhere, trip to nowhere
Faster and faster...

Auntie and Mutt.
Auntie cut the rind
off the bacon
and offered it
to the dog
but before the dog
could put his lips to it
you made off with it
down the cast iron stairs
beside the barrack block
and the dog followed you
barking as it did so
and once you reached the ground
you went off
onto the grass
and the dog
chased you
and jumped up at you
trying to reach
the bacon rind
you held between fingers
and Auntie called over
the metal rail
let the mutt have it
don't tease him
and so you bit
the rind in half
and gave the mutt one half
and ate the other yourself
but sometimes after Auntie
put the bacon rind
in the dog's bowl
you picked it up
and tossed it
over the balcony rail
onto the ground below
and the dog raced down
the stairs after it
but now and then
you pretended
to toss it over
and after the dog
raced off
you would hold it
over the side of the rail
and called to the mutt
and said
I still got it mutt
and the dog raced back
up the stairs
and you sat there
on the metal landing
and the dog came
and licked and nuzzled you
and you gave the dog
the bacon rind
and he licked you
and wagged its tail
and Auntie called out
what are you up to?
what are you doing now?

0200 Dementia
Now what did I come upstairs for?
Of course I haven’t forgotten your name,
young lady, it’s just that I can’t remember it
Why am I going upstairs?
I only just got up
No dear, you’re wrong,
I always pay on account
Where’s my bed?
Isn’t this upstairs?
Take the paper back
to the newsagent, someone’s
already done the crossword
Of course I’m undressed,
I just came upstairs
Of course you can sign my name dear,
they know me at the post office
Why is it so dark downstairs,
I’ve only just got up
Why should I give you money for the gas,
Young man? I don’t even know you
I’m sure there are more stairs
than there used to be
Stop being so insulting, young man,
it’s only money
No of course I don’t need help with the stairs,
I know my own house
No dear, you sign for it, I’m sure
your boss will understand
Somebody changed the stairs
when I was out, they
aren’t the same
Why are people so rude about
money these days?
Ask my father to speak
to that young man
The stairs are steeper than they were,
somebody’s changed them
Who are you, I didn’t
ask you to come in…
Of course it’s my house,
it’s just that you changed the stairs
Tell the bank manager to
come and see me in the morning.
Why does that man upstairs
move the stairs at night?
