The Obvious
Wake me from this altered state
My future's looking brighter all the time
I'm stumbling and delirious
Something's changed since those teenage days
I'm growing into my own
I'm the talk of the town
Looking strange and I'll say it out loud
There's nothing left to hide
When duplicating the obvious
And it's nothing we decide
Like you, like me
Twist my words so they reed me wrong
The truth was neevr good enough for you
Is that the best you can do?
Talk me down look in my face
Look at you now, feeling like the clown
Next time you should think it over
There's nothing left to hide
Nothing left to hide
When duplicating the obvious
When duplicating the obvious
And it's nothing we decide
Liek you, like me
With no reason, you twist my words
'Cause you're helpless lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
In a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness
Lost in a state of madness

SURrender
Surrender either to human
Or to the spirit higher is
Wrought with dangers lurking
At every step taken—
Self is constantly tested
By ‘self’ with unforeseen blows
Hitting hard from the most unexpected
To love the spirit unknown
Or the spirit known is
A constant flux and in fluidity
The ever dynamic relationship
Adding to the height in millimeters
Love is a miserable experience, you may say
But isn’t it equally or more
Miserable not to love and be loved?
‘Growth’ may be exciting
But the process is painful!

Obvious Song
There was a man in the jungle
Trying to make ends meet
Found himself one day with an axe in his hand
When a voice said buddy can you spare that tree
We gotta save the world - starting with your land
It was a rock n roll millionaire from the usa
Doing 3 to the gallon in a big white car
And he sang and he sang til he polluted the air
And he blew a lot of smoke from a cuban cigar
And the stars are looking down
Through a hole in the sky
And if they can see, they cry
Thats obvious
And the walls are coming down
Between the west and the east
You dont have to be a hippie to believe in peace
Thats obvious . . . obvious
There was a kid in the city selling crack to get by
Got caught one day with a gun in his hand
When a voice said, okay, get em up in the air
Youre too young to live like this
But you aint too fast to die.
Just another foot-soldier in a stupid little war
Another sound-bite on the american scene
Caught between the supplier only dreaming of money
And the demand of the man with money
Who needs a little help to dream
So we starve all the teachers
And recruit more marines
How come we dont even know what that means
Its obvious
And the walls are coming down
Between the eagle and the dove
You dont have to be a hippie to believe in love
Thats obvious . . . obvious

In Uncertainty We Live
IN UNCERTAINTY WE LIVE
In uncertainty we live,
And in uncertainty we will die-
Uncertainty is with us
In all our loves and hopes,
Nothing can escape
The ‘not knowing’ which will always be with us-
Uncertain we are born
And uncertain we will die-
God help me contend with the Uncertainty
With greater wisdom and courage.

When the flame burns low
When the flame burns low
We must be mindful
And trust its strength
The light dims, so we can see around more clearly
The shadowy places
Where our fears and unasked questions hide
The intermediate blur of light with the darkness
Rolls up a fog of uncertainty
Is someone betting I won’t last this fight?
The quivering light yields to the dark sometimes
Only to grow back from its diminished state
Slowly resuming its steady glow
When the flame burns low
We must be mindful
And trust its strength

When You Begin A War
when you begin a war
and start it now
do not discount the possibility
that you too
like any other human being
gets hurt
captured tortured and even die
without any name
to the vulture in that desert
eventually
as an unexpected eventuality,
an added casualty
to the war
that you have just began to wage
on this page
of history who shall soon solely decide
the guilty
without discounting the possibility that i could only
be you
the guilty one
the sore
loser

It Ain't Obvious
I keep trying
but I'm running out of ways to make you want me baby
I cannot be everything you want you drive me crazy
you're never satisfied
its not even worth a try times are for making up your mind
maybe we'll never see eye to eye
so treat me cruel to be kind
lets play it straight down the line
I'm sure you wanna be mine
but it ain't obvious
why cant you just let it be
what would you have me believe
I'm sure you really want me
but it ain't obvious
why don't you put a little trust in me
and let it go
if you don't take a chance
how will you ever know
baby im on your side
have I been foolish all along
have you been leading me on
just to walk away
if this is where you belong
so treat me cruel to be kind
lets play it straight down the line
I'm sure you wanna be mine
but it ain't obvious
why cant you just let it be
what would you have me believe
I'm sure you really want me
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
come on wont you be with me
what would you have me believe
come on wont you be with me
oh no no
if its not even worth a try times are for making up your mind
maybe we'll never see eye to eye
no no
so treat me cruel to be kind
(treat me cruel)
lets play it straight down the line
(it ain't obvious)
I'm sure you wanna be mine
but it ain't obvious
why cant you just let it be
(just let it be)
what would you have me believe
(me believe)
come on wont you be with me
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious
but it ain't obvious

Last Place You Look
the grass is always greener as i'm sure that you've found
if i find my way back on the last leg of this trip
i'm betting i'm finding you there
as long as it's constantly changing
as long as it's constantly sound
if there's no sense of impending danger
there's no sense in hanging around for the winter
if i'm not gonna be in your arms around me...
what have i got if you're there?
we'll behome in December
the leaves don't fall from the trees as long
as you remember you are always with me
it's not my place to find it
not something that i get to choose
don't be scared 'cause you're not something i'm willing to lose
i'll bet you find it in the last place you look

Bulls and Bears
Markets crashed
Hopes dashed
Brokers lashed
Doctors cashed
traders bashed
Overnight bankrupt
Shutters shut
Investors harassed
Analysts embarrassed
Govt. appeals
Don’t desperate feel
Markets volatile
Remain agile
Strong fundamentals
Good long term potential
Global concerns
Markets govern
Recession- sub prime crisis
Inflation-sky high prices
Bears overpower
Bulls run for cover
Bears or bulls
Markets pulls
Smart picks
Take risks
I f you are Weak hearted
Stay away from the markets.

It Had to Come to Us This Way
It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
It had to find us unprepared.
Unexpected love.
We did not know it had us picked.
When unexpected love,
Came to visit.
It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
It had to find us unprepared.
Willing to accept,
How it crept upon us.
When all we felt was tried.
Staring in clear skies,
Sometimes for that 'one'.
That someone special to us to come.
And when it is done...
We become stunned.
It is familiar.
As if it begins where it 'had' begun!
It had to come to us this way.
Unexpected love.
Expecting it returned.
As it is to feed what is yearned.
Connecting two hearts burning!
When all we felt was tried,
Unexpected love...
Comes out of hiding!
It had to come to us this way.
If it had not...
We would find reasons,
To chase it away!
And that is why,
It had to come to us
This way...
Finding us in a receptive display,
And giving without thought to run.
Hoping love like this did come,
To stay!
It had to come to us this way,
Unexpected love...
Seldom drifts or fades!
