We spend billions of pounds on welfare, yet millions are trapped on welfare. It's not worth their while going into work.

The old welfare system was hurting people by discouraging work and marriage. Welfare reform, and now this legislation, will build on the understanding that work and strong families are the foundation upon which we build our future.

There Is
There is accolade
For good work
For public welfare.
For welfare
Short or long
Does not matter
Good work is good
And you are there
To work.

Wisdom Sealed
Millions and Billions starve for food
Billions and Trillions spent on arms
Wisdom sealed.
Presidents and Premiers talk of welfare
Coffers emptied for sake of warfare
Wisdom sealed.
Hunger leads to many a death
Wealth stored in many a locker
Wisdom sealed.
Resourceful few rejoice with luxuries
Remaining lot rot in poverty
Wisdom sealed.

Thank god for being there
Above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever comes my way
I will be happy and gay
Life has its ups and downs
It gives us smiles and frowns
I will travel life’s journey mile by mile
With faith in my heart and on my lips a smile
Because above me u are there
To look after my welfare
In this birth I will do my best
In your hands I will leave the rest
There is a karma cycle I guess
So in sorrow also I will find happiness
No one is completely happy on this earth
I will do my best for the next birth
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare
What ever you give me in that I will make do
You have given me this life and you will see me through
You are my friend mentor and guide
By virtue truth and honesty I shall abide
I know your hand is on my head
So nothing I will ever dread
Because above me you are there
To look after my welfare.

We should measure welfare's success by how many people leave welfare, not by how many are added.

It is necessary to take an active part in politics to observe how often the welfare of the party organization is put before the issues, even before the welfare of the commonwealth.

The Needless
We are unable to
Enhance God’s welfare or reduce it!
We worship God
For our own welfare!
We listen to God
So that good things happen to us!
And so on!
God
doesn’t
need
any
one!

Welfare distorts behavior, makes one less personally responsible and reduces the role of private charity. This principle applies to corporate welfare.

Her Woes
the social welfare
officer carries
her bouncing baby
boy
the social welfare
officer says the boy
is healthy
the mother has
meningitis and
cannot support
the boy
he needs a lot
of milk
he is heavy and
he smiles a
lot and he
stares at his
mother
who has no
mind of her own
now
the social welfare
officer carries
the baby in her arms
and i am signing
the papers
attesting to the
mother's having
to give up the
boy for
welfare,
her sister from
Calape
has six kids
and her husband
is jobless
the boy stares
at her mother
who says
she is moving
to another place
to forget him
she was raped.
she got pregnant.
they are poor.
and she has to give
up the boy
the boy keeps
staring at her
mother.
their woes.
would you like
to carry the boy, sir?
he says.
No. he is definite.
No. His answer.

The problem of how we finance the welfare state should not obscure a separate issue: if each person thinks he has an inalienable right to welfare, no matter what happens to the world, that's not equity, it's just creating a society where you can't ask anything of people.

The preamble to the Constitution states We, the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare... It doesn't say guarantee the general welfare. And it certainly doesn't say give welfare benefits to all the people in the country who aren't doing so well even if the reason they aren't doing so well is because they're sitting on their butts in front of the TV.

Welfare Mothers
People, pick up on what Im puttin down now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Down at every laundromat in town now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
While theyre washin you can hear this sound now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Divorcee!
Hard to believe that love is free now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Out on the street with the whole family now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Hard to believe that love is free now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Divorcee!
People, pick up on what Im puttin down now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Down in every laundromat in town now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
While theyre washin you can hear this sound now
Welfare mothers make better lovers
Divorcee!

Holy Messages
Holy men aren’t interested in your welfare.
They are interested in their welfare.
They use their message as their vehicle
To spread their names as far and wide as they can.

Coincidence Or Consequence
You have a job but you can't afford the rent
Why is life always just dollars and cents?
If you can't get a job, you can't get a home
Vicious cycle spawns and turns your soul to bone
Kill, kill, die, die, death, death, suicide
Why do you think those rates are so high?
Do you think its just a coincidence that the black male
Is the highest statistic trapped on welfare
Landlord system, life for rent
Capitalism doesn't make any sense
Don't join the system, its suicide!
Coincidence or consequence, YOU DECIDE!
WELFARE IS WARFARE

Loopholes (Free Verse)
Arizona citizens known as we the people
Did not want to pass the current laws in
Question…The legislative branch of government
Are thus known as individuals and have no
Right to create laws that the People are against…
Furthermore…The laws enacted are in violation
Of the Welfare clause of the Preamble in which
Is known as The People…In which agricultural
Crops and other jobs that depend on emigrants
For the welfare of The People who depend on
Said emigrants as essential to the welfare and
Pursuit of Happiness of The People… Thus any
state whom is not in accord with The People are
in violation of stated Clauses of The Preamble…

The Price We Pay
(08/21/11)
The days are getting longer and
the nights are getting shorter.
The economy is scaring
And the tempers are flaring.
So many people struggling to survive
And many on the unemployment line.
Military people are losing their rights
And still expected to stand and fight.
Social security checks are getting smaller
And the welfare lines are getting longer.
Yet we still throw millions of pounds of food away
And millions are starving every day.
People are crossing our borders every day
Looking for jobs with a bit more pay.
You no longer have to wonder
Why banks are going under.
The world is going through the same things as us
But in GOD we must put our trust.
If those words are imprinted on our currency
Then in that you must believe.
If we could only go back to the past
Where we could afford a gallon of gas.
Where jobs offered retirement benefits
And health care too, and we didn’t have
To worry as to what to do.
We all know that life never stays the same
And we all must go through these aches and pains.
Is this the price that we must pay
So the politicians can get their way?

A welfare country
With the welfare people
Every one get education
Every one get medication
In free
Every one get what they want
Occupation, good explanation from the beureucracy
Safety,
Live peace and love
Finally tied together
Be the generous country
