As leaders, we become whole when we see that our focused, singular commitment to making the numbers and the metrics cannot be effective on its own, but only when it is part of the whole picture - only when we see that it takes more than metrics to make up the whole.

Comprehending Is the Key
I had the funding.
I had the opportunity.
And I wanted with them to share.
'What happened? '
I gave back the funding.
I returned the opportunity.
And I told those who supported me,
I could find no one who cared.
'So what is it that you do now? '
Stay focused.
Move forward.
And make huge investments,
In the minding of my own business.
'Aren't those the same people who say,
What is needed is commitment and unity...
In this community? '
I stay focused.
I've moved forward.
And I make huge investments,
In the minding of my own business.
'I know you heard me.'
I stay focused.
I've moved forward.
And...
'I make huge investments,
In the minding of my own business.'
I hear you.
Comprehending is the key,
To keeping one's peace of mind.

Groovy Movies
Sometimes I think Im gonna better myself,
Searching for acceptance in this big, wide world.
Sometimes I think I wont make it,
Playing in a rock n roll band.
Sometimes I wanna be a picture director,
And try to make the world understand.
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies.
All the movie makers of the world would be,
Falling over backwards to have dinner with me.
Ill go down to [? ]
Anytime I feel like a game[? ].
Or take a long vacation to san tropez,
And think of all the money I made.
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies.
I dont want to be a producer,
I dont want to be a big star.
I just want to be a picture director,
And smoke a big havana cigar.
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies,
By making groovy movies.

More Than Love
Every morning takes a chance, it might not come around
So its maybe coming later
A preacher man on my t.v.
Says hes got the streets for me
And prays you write the letter
Heavenly father tell me how its gonna be
So that I can try to make it better
Restless bars, you and I suppose they are
For blowing it all away
Thats why I say
It takes more than love to get it on
You know it takes more than strength to carry on
It takes more than words to get it wrong
It takes more than love to get it on
Making us crazy, burnin our bridges
Taking them out one at a time
Goodbyes you know dont come easy
Did you wanna go, for the thrill of it all
Why dyou wanna go cause you had no reason
For blowin it all away
It takes more than love to get it on
You know it takes more than strength to carry on
It takes more than words to get it wrong
It takes more than love to get it on
Ships are sailing and you know your aim is true
The figureheads have broken in your mind
You paint yourself a picture, and it turns to black and white
And settle with the people one more time
Chorus to fade

I Keep Focused
Whether I am on your list...
Or do not make an appearance at all.
Guest what?
Not a footprint on this path I have made,
Belongs to anyone else....
Who can claim a doing with little assistance.
I keep focused!
And guest what...?
You can compare me to anyone you please.
But I have never been impressed,
By your ability to stretch an imagination.
Why?
I keep focused!
And I try...
To stay focused.
And I choose not to guess how or when...
You have managed to do what you've done,
Without sweat or eyes dried,
As if a tear you have never cried.
Why?
I keep focused!
And I try...
To stay focused.
But I do believe the path you have chosen,
Has been repaved over so many times,
As to accomodate those who have found their way to go...
Much easier than the one I pioneered.
And I know it shows,
I am focused.
And I try...
To stay focused.
Yes I try...
To stay focused.
Whether I am on your list...
Or do not make an appearance at all.
Guest what?
Not a footprint on this path I have made,
Belongs to anyone else....
Who can claim a doing with little assistance.
I've updated and changed my list of preferenced wishes,
So many times...
I might have even been on the top of your list,
But...
Having a mind like this with desires to exist,
And improve what I do...
I keep focused.
With that in my mind,
That's kept...
Noticed.
With a leaving behind...
Those provoking others with their jokes!
To keep me...
Focused.

Shades of Grey
The pencil
Swirls and twirls
Along an unknown path
She reveils
In the feeling
Of making a masterpiece
Lead covers her hands
A metallic gleam
A picture is forming
Shades of grey
Entwine on the canvas
Her art
Her emotions
All implied by her picture
A million words
Gone unwritten
But all are spoken
Through
Shades of grey
Swists and turns
Curves and waves
Each singular line forms
She is embedded
Into every stroke
On the canvas
The essence of
Her will remain
Even as she fades away
Her art will live on

Numerate
To fix on zero as a number has selection
To be run, morality has begun, the collection.
I float with favours, forcing other necessity,
Deceit inclines us to show and tell the absurdity.
To discriminate on the rich is a zero affair,
Poor is one of those votes, one to bear.
Let numbers run, once you bethink the objective,
Both numbers and words connect, it is effective.

Numerical Tyranny
Who conspired
this needless need for
the numbers?
Now we all live in fear of
the numbers
tremble at the feet of
the numbers
live our lives according to the demands of
the numbers
Identify ourselves by
the numbers
we've sold ourselves short with
the numbers
locked ourselves in a cell with
the numbers
no one believes they can escape
the numbers
our status our worth
our health our happiness
all dictated by
the numbers
Who are you?
Are you just another
number?
For if only we could see the truth behind
the numbers:
the truth being
there is only one number
that number is one
and that one stretches on
through infinitude.

It Takes Two
(sylvia moy, william stevenson)
One can have a dream baby
Two can make a dream so real
One can talk about being in love
Two can see how it really feels
One can wish upon a star
Two can make a wish come true
One can stand alone in the dark
Two can make a light shine through
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
One can have a broken heart living in misery
Two can really ease the pain like a perfect remedy
One can be alone in a bar like an island hes all alone
Two can make just any place seem just like bein at home
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
One can go out to a movie looking for a special treat
Two can make that single movie something really kind of neat
And one can take a walk in the moonlight thinking that its really nice
But two lovers walking hand in hand is like adding just a pinch of spice
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two
It takes two baby
It takes two baby
Just me and you
You know it takes two

Baby You Got What It Takes
Well, it takes more than a robin
To make a winter cold
Then it takes two lips of fire
To melt away the snow
Yeah, and it takes two hearts a-cookin
To make a fire glow
And baby, you got what it takes
(pullin together)
Well, it takes a lot of kissin
To make a romance sweet
And it takes a lot of lovin
To make my life complete
And it takes a lot of woman
To knock me off-a my feet
And baby, you got what it takes
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-we
Ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-we
Baby, youve got just what it takes
And it takes more than an effort
To stay away from you
And it takes more than a lifetime
To prove that Ill be true
(sing it with me)
Yeah, and it takes somebody special
To make me say, I do
And baby, you got what it takes
Woo-woo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-ooo-we
Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo-we
Baby, you got just what it takes
Well, it takes more than an effort (hoo)
To stay away from you (ooo, I know it)
And it takes more than a lifetime
To prove that Ill be true
And it takes somebody special
To make me say, I do
And baby, you got what it takes
Oh yeah
And baby, you got what it takes
And baby, you got what it takes

The Numbers
i think i am beginning to know the numbers
their meanings
inside the big dome the dancers are practicing
the steps are numbered
and the whole day the leader keeps the count
one two three four
five six
seven eight nine ten
eight seven six five
four three
two one
four three two one
five six seven eight
eight seven six five four three
two one
the whole day for the whole week for the whole month
these numbers are counted like
one two three four
five six
seven eight nine ten
eight seven six five
four three
two one
four three two one
five six seven eight
eight seven six five four three
two one
i am standing by the door
looking at the dancers jump to the count of
six five four three
two one
they run and stop and run again
and stamp on the left and on the right
and point and slash
and jump and
kick and sway and
stand and kneel
and kick and slash
eight seven six five
four three two one
four three
four three two one
numbers indeed
are numbing
they make us numb
they are making us dumb
five four three two one.

A good actor is someone who knows how to take the part and make it real and make it honest and be effective in it. If it's in a funny movie and, as long as they are cast in an appropriate way, humor will come from it.

To see life,
To see life,
To see life is to see trust,
To see life and make us suffer for truth's,
To see life is to grow in an environment that is good,
To understand the Spiritual meaning of glory,
To see life is find an ether,
To see life is to make us see Beauty,
To see life is to make a commitment of Truth's,
Either way,
Responsibility is making life easier,
To see life is loving from the soul,
There are many lesson's that man hast to learn,
That we are very weak to see what is making us lose.

The Natural Numbers
My numbers never ending
Stretching to infinity
But never ever reaching there
And always further off than me
Are those strange transfinite numbers
Whose names sound like some odd code
Like aleph and omega
And, as Mr Godel showed
We need these abstract artefacts
Even if imaginary
To prove all higher theorems
And ensure consistency
But there are further mysteries
That from my numbers do arise
Like never ending decimals
Irrational numbers in disguise
They too are quite invented
Just convenient in use
When my simple natural numbers
Do not serve to make a proof
Oh the mysteries of numbers!
Oh the madness of all that!
When what started off as counting
Becomes higher abstract maths.
