Family trips to Yellowstone and to what are now national parks in Southern Utah, driving the primitive roads and cars of that day, were real adventures.

Our Roads On Earth
Each trip commences with a step
We all have trips to make
We traverse different roads in life
As one goes up
Another goes down
Some go through long roads
Others have shorter paths to tread
Our daily trips are divine
As we journeyed towards life trips
Some roads are bumpy
Some are smooth
Some have stamina for marathon
Some move faster in a dash
Either long or short
Trials, challenges, obstacles
Are features to wrestle with on our roads
We need to be resilent
We need to damn odds
Whatever lane of the roads we are
Steadfastness is needed
Our trips on these roads
Shall end successfully
If we hold on to God..

Craps.....[Short; Nature observations; National park; My Marriage]age
Our recent driving trip through western states has ended.
In Yellowstone I said something to my wife which offended
her because it seemed to show lack of interest in what we did.
I referred to the thermal features as 'crap'. So? I'm just a kid.
How many geysers and hot springs must I endure?
They are dangerous and the water's not even pure!
Besides, I saw some of it forty-nine years ago.
I remembered Old Faithful from then; my brain's not THAT slow.
Well, my wife was not impressed by my choice of words.
It's like I downgraded the wonders to the level of turds.
So I apologized, sort of, and off we went some more
to view Yellowstone's wonders....though some are a bore.
Hee hee

Miracle
Isn’t it a miracle?
That we with no
Eyes and ears
Honking on the roads
At every bend, turn and
Corner,
Ignoring pedestrian
Crossings, encroaching
On their right to cross
The roads safely, shooing
Them away to race our cars
At break-neck speeds,
Bribing the police to get away
With our mischiefs,
Having under the table
Money exchanges with the agents
To get our driving licences.
All the rules being flouted.
No respect for road safety laws.
We, the blind and deaf people
Suddenly, almost miraculously
Start seeing and heeding what is
Being said to us in countries
Other than our own; become
Civilised drivers, with no need
For honking while driving,
Reversing and turning.
All the mayhem that happens
On our Indian roads, where
People don’t follow their lanes,
Come threatening us with their noisy horns
And nerve-racking swerves; just the places
Need to change, and the same people find
Themselves quietly going through the roads
Abroad. But India isn’t destined to see
Such miracles. Or is She? Some eon, may be.

Primitive Love
Primitive love
I want what it used to be, primitive love
No modern love, its all a hustle
Whats done is done, now its my turn to have some fun
Youre much to sly, dont give me alibis
I dont want to know, I dont want to know
Primitive love
I want what it used to be
I want it, primitive love
Primitivie love, I want what is used to be
I want what it used to be, primitive love
I want, I need, primtive love
You dont have to worry , I dont want your money
I dont have to think, right now youve got me at the brink
This is good-bye for all the times I cried
Dont want no more, dont want no more
Primitive love
I want what it used to be
I want it, primitive love
Primitivie love, I want what is used to be
I want what it used to be, primitive love
I want, I need, primitive love
Is it right, or is it wrong?
Primitive drums call me backward into stone
Pack up and leave, Im not yours to deceive
Dont want you no more, dont want you no more
Primitive love
I want what it used to be
I want it, primitive love
Primitivie love, I want what is used to be
I want what it used to be, primitive love
I want, I need, primtive love

Primitive
My heart keeps beating me to death
I see you move and I can't catch my breath
I want to touch you with my lips
I want to touch you with a kiss
My heart keeps pounding like a fist
I see you there and I just can't resist
You make me tremble like this
You make me tremble like a jellyfish
It's primitive
You got me
Oh
It's primitive
You make me feel
Primitive
When you lock me in your arms
You chain me to your heart
...Oh
I hear you calling out my name
And when you talk your words they numb my brain
You make this fire in me start
I want to touch you with my heart
I hear you whisper in the dark
And when you touch me I just come apart
I feel the fever in your hands
We feel things we don't even understand
It's primitive
You got me
Oh
It's primitive
You make me feel
Primitive
When you lock me in your arms
You chain me to your heart
...Oh
It's animal
Like the moon pulls at the tide
I'm at your side
The world in which we live
It's primitive
You got me
Oh
It's primitive
You make me real
Primitive
When you lock me in your arms
You chain me to your heart
...Oh

The Beehive State
Randy Newman
Since you're the delegate from Kansas
Will you kindly take the floor
Now tell us, what is Kansas thinkin'
What is Kansas for
Kansas is for the farmer
We stand behind the little man
We need a fire house in Topeka
So help us if you can
I see the gentleman from Utah
Our friendly Beehive State
How can we help you, Utah
How can we make you great
We got to irrigate our deserts
We got to get some things to grow
We got to tell this country about Utah
'Cause nobody seems to know

Rental Cars!
Rental cars!
To change the system;
Dental, rental, pal, petal, metal, beal, fatal! !
For this land is the land of tenants.
Raw, saw, caw, craw, maw, paw, aw, yaw;
And like the rental laws around you!
But, the landlords do need the tenants.
Rental cars!
Braw, draw, law, haw, jaw, flaw, taw;
But, with better roads to move along.
Rental cars!
Real, meal, wheal, lethal, coral, floral, oral;
But, we do need each other in business.

Im A Southern Man
Tony joe white
Send me a pan of corn bread with some turnip greens on the side
And if you really want to mess with my head give me anything southern fried
Give me some faded blue jeans and a pair of old cowboy boots
And Im gonna tell you where I come from tell you somethin about my roots
Im a southern man, Im a southern man,
Im a southern man, (spoken) Im a southern man
Send me a woman to love me with a lot of meat on her bones
Theres something about a big lady I just cant leave em alone
Id like to take her down to the river go skinny dippin in the night
Aint nothin like being with my lady and makin love in the pale moon light
Cause Im a southern man, a hah ah Im a southern man, Im a southern
Man, southern man, Im a southern man
Give me that soulful music it sure makes me feel so nice
So I can do the alligator and get it on every saturday night
Give me that southern comfort, give me annie greensprings wine
Take me on down to the bayou and Ill sure have a real good time
Im a southern man repeated many times to end

Cars Are Cars
Words & music by paul simon 1983
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Similarly made. similarly sold
In a motorcade. abandoned when theyre old
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Engine in the front. jack in the back
Wheels take the brunt. pinion and a rack
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
But people are strangers
They change with the curve
From time zone to time zone
As we can observe
They shut down their borders
And think theyre immune
They stand on their differences
And shoot at the moon
But cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Drive em on the left. drive em on the right
Susceptible to theft in the middle of the night
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
I once had a car
That was more like a home
I lived in it, loved in it
Polished its chrome
If some of my homes
Had been more like my car
I probably wouldnt have
Travelled this far
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world
Cars are cars all over the world

Japanese Cars
I want
my money back.
I Don’t Want
a Jap death trap.
I Want To
get There and Back.
Looks Good but what’s that.
Six Foot under Potato Patch.
Copyright © Terence George Craddock
This poem reflects reported media concern with regard to vehicle safety standards, during the period of its composition in April 1991, over the safety of Japanese’s cars when crashing on New Zealand roads. Design adaptations to suit the demands of kiwi roads and driving habits solved these problems and Japanese cars soon dominated the market. Japanese vans were an even greater danger with unprotected support when rolling and were recalled and redesigned. Primitive
Primitive feeling, primitive way
Getting closer to the primitive day
Intuition wherever it goes
The primitive day, the primitive way
Primitive feeling, primitive way
Getting closer to the primitive day
Follow the feeling wherever it goes
The primitive day, the primitive way

Keep Driving
Another new york waltz at four a.m.,
In the canyons lost at night
The citys just a jail for me, full of high rise prison walls
And Im riding through this darkness,
cause I know theres life within
And Im searching through the shadows,
Just to find that light again
Keep driving (keep driving),
Let the meter run
Keep driving (keep driving),
Oh the nights not really done
Keep driving
And Im hanging on a memory, and I feel it in the air
Im a prisoner of these lonely streets,
But I know Ill find you there
And oh lord, you look so pretty,
But you can see it in my eyes
And just before my tear will fall, oh you smile and get inside
It seems so real until the light turns green
Dont wake me up, dont ruin this dream, dont take me from my scene
Keep driving, keep driving,
Keep driving, keep driving,
I cant go home, dont take me home, I cant go home alone
They dont tell you when the music stops,
Or how the movie ends
Is it too late once the feelings gone,
To back it up and start it all again?
Oh lord you look so pretty,
And you can see it in my eyes
And just before that tear will fall, oh you smile and get inside
(keep driving) keep driving, driving
I cant go home, dont take me home, I cant go home alone
(keep driving) let the meter run,
(keep driving) dont take me home
(keep driving) ooh, the nights still young
(keep driving) I gotta find someone,
(keep driving) I gotta find someone,
(keep driving) I gotta find someone,
(keep driving) I gotta find someone,
(keep driving) ooh find someone,
(keep driving) I gotta find someone,
(keep driving) find someone,
(keep driving) find someone,
(keep driving, keep driving, keep driving, keep driving, keep driving)

What Family!
Every time, someone
asks about my family,
I shrug my shoulders, and
said “ what family? ”
I tell them....I don’t talk
to my family and they don’t
talk to me.
So pretty much....what family?

more social...a part of Thoreau
The wild goose is more of a cosmopolite than we
he breaks his fast in Canada,
takes a luncheon in the Ohio,
and plumes himself for the night in a southern bayou.
Even the bison, to some extent,
keeps pace with the seasons
cropping the pastures of the Colorado only
till a greener and sweeter grass awaits him
by the Yellowstone.
