I once bought an old car back after I sold it because I missed it so much and I had forgotten that it never ran. It was a British racing car. You know, because I just wanted it back. I could only remember what was good about it.

Back Down To Earth
(carly simon)
We jumped into a river on the moon
But the water was too cold
We tried to buy the morning star
But it was already sold
I wanted to make it big with you
But my plans must have been to bold too
And its back down to earth again
Back in my car and gone
Back on the road
Back on the road alone
You were my summer angel
Youre eyes how they shone
Just last night we were talking about
How much our love had grown
I wanted to prove how good it could be
But my plans will have to be postponed
cause its back down to earth again
Back in my car and gone
Back on the road
Back on the road alone

Bought And Sold
Bought and sold.
Bought,
And sold.
Bought and sold...
As if no feelings I keep.
But deep inside I'm touched.
Nothing here is cheaply rushed.
Bought and sold...
On what to me has been told.
Not me I'm not of mush.
Nor easily crushed to dust.
Excesses on the cheapness of life,
Has made a weakness increase...
And,
Bought and sold.
Bought,
And sold.
Bought and sold.
Too many given anything.
Just to say they've gotten a piece,
To be...
Bought and sold.
Bought and sold...
On what to me has been told.
Not me I'm not of mush.
Nor easily crushed to dust.
Bought and sold...
As if no feelings I keep.
But deep inside I'm touched.
Nothing here is cheaply rushed.
Too many people take for granted and accept too easily.
To be sold,
On what they're told.
Too many people take for granted and accept too easily.
Bought and sold,
On what they're told.
Too many people take for granted and accept too easily.
To be sold,
On what they're told.
Bought and sold,
On what they're told.
Just...
To sell.

What Was It You Wanted?
What was it you wanted?
Tell me again so Ill know.
Whats happening in there,
Whats going on in your show.
What was it you wanted,
Could you say it again?
Ill be back in a minute
You can get it together by then.
What was it you wanted
You can tell me, Im back,
We can start it all over
Get it back on the track,
You got my attention,
Go ahead, speak.
What was it you wanted
When you were kissing my cheek?
Was there somebody looking
When you give me that kiss
Someone there in the shadows
Someone that I might have missed?
Is there something you needed,
Something I dont understand.
What was it you wanted,
Do I have it here in my hand?
Whatever you wanted
Slipped out of my mind,
Would you remind me again
If youd be so kind.
Has the record been breaking,
Did the needle just skip,
Is there somebody waitin,
Was there a slip of the lip?
What was it you wanted
I aint keepin score
Are you the same person
That was here before?
Is it something important?
Maybe not.
What was it you wanted?
Tell me again I forgot.
Whatever you wanted
What could it be
Did somebody tell you
That you could get it from me,
Is it something that comes natural
Is it easy to say,
Why do you want it,
Who are you anyway?
Is the scenery changing,
Am I getting it wrong,
Is the whole thing going backwards,
Are they playing our song?
Where were you when it started
Do you want it for free
What was it you wanted
Are you talking to me?

When Then They Had It
It isn't what it was or had been to them.
They wanted it to radiate even when ignored.
Even when left unpolished they expected it to shine.
Leaving it behind to rot and be forgotten.
But what it wasn't is wanted back by them, again.
With every part of that which was delusioned,
Intact.
Even what had been disdained with a wish to rid.
Is now romanticized as reminisced,
With a missing of it.
And this gets more unbearable.
Since whoever has it now seems thrilled.
And a knowing of this has increased a jealousy.
A heating up of an envy begins.
It isn't what it was or had been to them then!
But what it wasn't is wanted back.
With a protest and threatened attacks.
Every bit of that which was delusioned,
Intact as if it sparkled like a gem all now seek.
Gone and yet remembered,
Not for the bitter but the sweet.
Or the possibility of it being there,
Since no one bothered to care.
And not for the tastelessness no one did eat.
Or preferred to select.
It was thought to be a substitute!
And not viewed as the best one then could get.
As rumored.
It is wanted for what it could have been to them.
And what it could have been then,
Was given away to become desired and craved...
By others seen with it to admire it for what it is!
With a giving to it an appreciation that stays.
And the sight of this sickens the ones who want it back,
To inspect it closer to see what it was they missed...
With a neglecting of it as it was when then they had it,
Close enough to reject the effect of it that did not then impress.
When then they had it.
But...
Now demand it back.
To delude?
Who knows.

Everlasting Hope
Beautiful is my love and,
I am from the joyous dreamland;
I lost my hope and you found me,
You are my everlasting hope.
Beautiful is my love and,
I am from the joyous dreamland;
I sold my heart and you bought it back,
You are my everlasting hope.
I was sold and lost,
But never forgotten in your mind;
Beautiful is my love and,
I am from the joyous dreamland.
Your are so great! Whiter than snow;
My everlasting hope,
You are so kind to me.
I sold my mind and you bought it back,
You all that i need in times like this;
You are so great! The desire of my heart;
You are so great my love.

Finding My Way Back To You
I used to get away with so much
Now I can't get away
I even thought that it was simple
To say the things I wanted to say
And you told me
Everything I wanted to hear
And you sold me
Now I don't know how I should feel
I should know me
And baby you would think I'd know better, oh ohh, yeah
I'm finding my way back to you
And everything I used to be
And waiting is all that I can do
Until you find your way back to me
What if I said what I was thinking
What if that says too much
When everybody's got a reason
I feel like giving up
And you told me
Everything I wanted to hear
And you sold me
Now I don't know how I should feel
I should know me
And baby you would think I'd know better oh woo
And I'm finding my way back to you
And everything I used to get
And waiting is all that I can do
Until you find your way back to me
Until you find your way back to me
Oh until you find your way back to me
until you find your way back to me
until you find your way back to me
I used to get away with so much
I'm finding my way back to you
And everything I used to be
And waiting is all that I can do
Until you find your way back to me yeah ho whoo oh yeah oh
And waiting is all that I can do
Until you find your way back to me oh
I used to get away with so much

I Gave My 24-7 To You
You said jump, I asked how high
You made the rules, that we live by
And now I find, I made a frankenstein
I spoiled you rotten, night and day
I always let you get your way
I did the crime, now Im doing time
Baby, for showing you I care
Im tearing out my hair
Baby, you never do your share
You know it isnt fair
(chorus)
I gave my 24-7 to you
Doing everything you wanted to
I bought you sushi and yogurt too
You bought a ringer
Just to pull me through
cause you know thats its true
I gave my 24-7 to you
Every time that were alone
You sit there talkin on the phone
It never ends
Now I hate your friends
Every time I tell you no
Youre quick to tell me where to go
Id leave it all
If I had your balls
Baby, I let you wear the pants
You wore off the romance
Baby, you never miss a chance
To tell me I cant dance
I gave my 24-7 to you
Doing everything you wanted to
I bought you prada and old navy too
You never wear em
Now Im feeling blue
Girl, you know that its true
I gave my 24-7 to you
Baby, its true
Therell never ever ever
Ever never be another one like you
I gave my 24-7 to you
Doing everything you wanted to
I bought you britney and limp bizkit too
You sold them back
For money that I blew
Girl, you know that its true
I gave my 24-7 to you

Bus 8
Bus 8
On the bus 8, to Garston I met my future wife I was going
to meet someone at the British Legion there, something
about a job on a ship. At an outdoor we bought cans of
coke and also bottle of rum, the job thing was forgotten
I thought she was the most understanding woman I had
ever met. A fortnight later we got married, people I didn’t
like much, brothers in laws, came to our reception.
Dreams never last, like a worker’s money, woke up one
morning; no smell of coffee from downstairs she had gone
out and left a note: “Get a Job! ” Took a bus to Albert Dock,
a ship there, going to Murmansk, needed a cook I didn’t
hesitate, signed on, every morning made my own coffee
and everyone else’s. I would still like to know if she, when
coming back from Garston’s shopping centre, missed me.

For The Sake of Pretentious Prestige
There are those campaigning,
With a wish to take back America!
But from who? Or whom?
Those who bought it?
Or those who sold their souls,
To keep their turned up noses?
They came.
They settled.
They stole and sold.
And now they cry for a way of life,
They decided to bribe and barter away...
For the sake of pretentious prestige!

Out Of Routine
Out of routine, the explanations you have
You're still loathe to give them
All because you've phrased it in a way
So the explanations you have
The words don't go away
If your heart gets in the way of what you wanted
To deny everything I say is not uncommon
The only thing that's definitely forgotten
Is what you wanted
And what you really needed
But I can only try to know what I wanted
I will only try to know what I want
If I can only try to know what I wanted
How can it be gone
Out of routine but it's not as bad as you think
It's only chance you're looking for
Still in routine and the explanations you have
The ideas go between
If your heart gets in the way of what you wanted
If you reply to everything I say so it's not uncommon
The only thing that's definitely forgotten
Is what you wanted
And what you really needed
But I can only try to know what I wanted
I will only try to know what I want
If I can only try to know what I wanted
How can it be gone
And it's already gone and nothing can take it back
It's already gone and nothing can take it from being gone

Stolen
Let truth be told
Until its sold
Silence is golden
Too bad its all been stolen
Stolen! stolen! stolen!
Our defense is your defense
Your defense in some sense
Some sensless way unfolded
Folded cause its all been stolen
Stolen! stolen! stolen!
The gilded scale was burning
Just as your back was turning
Just as our trust was leaving
Youd have us all believing
These truths we hold
Self-evident
Bought and sold
The more you hunt the more I sing
Then quickly rewrite everything
Truth returns bloated, swollen
Then dissapears - its been stolen!
Stolen!
The gilded scale was burning
Just as your back was turning
Just as our trust was leaving
Youd have us all believing
These truths we hold
Self-evident
Bought and sold
Its all been stolen! [x2]

I Sold My Heart To The Junkman
Intro to: I sold my heart to the junkman
...this is a very sad song, this next song were gonna do.
The song is so sad that sometimes I have to leave the stage and
Cry in the backstage a little bit while Im singing this song. the reason
This song is so sad because this story happened to me just a little
While ago (not true, but true) (audience laughs) and it was, it was
A thing where I met this this beautiful girl, right? was she a
Beautiful girl as she was, she was nice and ... and I gave her my whole
Heart, every every bit, and she gave it back to me a month later all
Beat up, so bad and so terrible looking that
I sold my heart to the junkman !
Now I can never fall in love again....
(starts song)
...song, this is a very sad song, this next
Song were gonna do.
The song is so sad that sometimes I have to
Leave the stage and cry in the backstage a
Little bit while Im singing this song.
The reason this song is so sad because this
Story happened to me just a little while ago
(not true, but true) (audience laughs)
And it was, it was a thing where I met this
This beautiful girl, right? was she a
Beautiful girl as she was, she was nice and ...
And I gave her my whole heart, every every bit,
And she gave it back to me a month later all
Beat up, so bad and
So terrible looking that
I sold my heart to the junkman !
Now I can never fall in love again....
Well I gave my heart to you, open, so open and trusting
And you gave it back to me, it was broken up and busting
(sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
(sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
I can never fall in love again
Oh and I know you took my heart, you thought that you
Could use it
When you gave it back like a toy
You broken and bruised
(sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
(I sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
I can never fall in love again
Now, it was a movie sad scene, I played my part
Ooh I wanted the happy ending, but all I got was
A broken heart
(all he got was a broken heart)
(I sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman(I sold my heart) I sold my
Heart to the junkman
I can never fall in love again
Now I swear it was a movie setting, baby I played my part
And all I wanted was a happy ending,
But now Im left with a broken heart
(now hes left with a broken heart)
(I sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
(I sold my heart) I sold my heart to the junkman
I can never fall in love again
I gave my heart to you, so open and trusting
And you gave it back to me, it was broken up and busting
(so I sold) I sold my heart to the junkman
(yes I sold) I sold my heart to the junkman
I can never fall in love again
Yes I did sold my heart to the junkman
Yes I did, yes I did
Sold my heart to the junkman
Now I can never fall in love again
Since I sold my heart to the junkman.

Forgotten
Ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah
I'm giving up on everything
Because you messed me up
Dont know how much you screwed it up
You never listened
Thats just to bad
Because Im movin on
I wont forget
You were the one that was wrong
I know I need to
Step up and be strong
Dont patronize me
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Have you forgotten
Everything that I wanted
Do you forget it now
You never got it
Do you get it now
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah
Gotta get away
There's no point in thinking about yesterday
It's too late now
It wont ever be the same
We're so different now
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Have you forgotten
Everything that I wanted
Do you forget it now
You never got it
Do you get it now
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I know I wanna run away
I know I wanna run away
Run away
If only I could run away
If only I could run away
run away
I told you what I wanted
I told you what I wanted
what I wanted
But I was forgotten
I wont be forgotten
Never again
Have you forgotten
Everything that I wanted
Do you forget it now
You never got it
Do you get it now
Do you get it now
Have you forgotten
Everything that I wanted
Do you forget it now
You never got it
Do you get it now
Have you forgotten
do you get it now
Forgotten
Yeah yeah yeah
Forgotten
Yeah yeah yeah
Forgotten
Yeah yeah yeah
Forgotten
Yeah yeah yeah

Next Great War
the next great war
this country will face
will be a war within
it's own boundaries...
the stench of poverty and
injustice has become too foul...
the old, the homeless, the
forgotten ones have been pushed
too far, left with too little...
and the sound of righteous anger
rips through the air...
now the largest minority
is the common man and woman...
the faceless ones bought and sold,
and left to die on black and white tv's...
and the time has come
when there's no more taking
to be done.... unless, it's the
taking back, of our lives,
our country, and our freedom!

Shes Not Coming Back
Writers: alan tarney & leo sayer
Monday morning nine a.m.
I missed my bus I mustve overslept again
phoned up work told em I cant go on
Since she left this house is not a home I know
Shes not coming back
Shes not coming back
Shes not coming back
Shes not coming back
All my friends they keep coming around
Well they can ress me up but I wont paint the town
No one elsell do the things shed do
All my fun is up because I know this time for sure
Shes not coming back
-- she didnt have a reason
-- she wanted to be free
-- she told me she was leaving
Monday evenings used to be so easy rollin
Staying home with her
Now this room is like a prison
I cant go nowhere Im nothing without her
Shes not coming back -- no more
Tuesday morning and its not that bad
Well Im smiling now thinking of all the fun we had
And if I see her this is what I will say
Well thanks for asking but as you see Im okay
Shes not coming back
-- she didnt have a reason
-- she wanted to be free
-- she told me she was leaving
She was leaving me

Sold Me Out
I always knew that theyd get me somehow sooner or later,
But with a bullet in the head, a knife in the back,
Not a pocket calculator.
Sorry mister, youre all wiped up,
Youre all washed up,
Sold you out.
Got no dreams, got no ambition,
Cant decide, cause theres no decision,
Got no claim to any position,
Cant compete with the competition.
Youre always complaining,
Its so depressing,
But if youre old enough,
Start to confess it.
You say, you sold me out,
To get a better deal for yourself,
You sold me out,
And now we want some of your precious wealth,
Because you sold me out.
Sold me out,
Sold me out,
Sold me out.
You sold me out,
To get a better deal for yourself.
You sold me out,
And now its every man for himself.
Work all your life, put the money in the bank,
Sign on the dotted line.
Try to draw it out, the jokes on you,
Put up the empty sign.
Sorry mister, were all sold out.
Sold me out,
Sold me out,
Sold me out,
Sold me out.
You, Im talkin to you.
You sold me out,
To get a better deal for yourself.
You sold me out,
And now we want some of your precious wealth.
And sell you out,
Like you sold me out.
Are you in so deep, that you cant get out?
Got no dreams, got no ambition,
Cant decide, cause theres no decision,
Got no claim to any position,
Cant compete with the competition.
Sold me out,
Sold me out,
Sold me out,
Sold me out.

Hold Back
Written by ricky & marty wilde
Now when we started - no interventions
I wanted everything with no conditions
You took my love and told it to the world
But now it really changes things
The ring you wear belongs to someone else
Somebody else and my heart keeps saying
Hold back - hold back your love
Baby its just a crazy thing to start
Hold back - hold back your love
Maybe its just the easy way to part
Hold back - hold back (hold back, hold back...)
No denials - no introspection
Im not competing for some true perfection
I wanted something thats fine and thats for sure
And now I wonder how she feels
cos in her heart she knows theres someone else
Somebody else and I hear her saying
Hold back - hold back your love
Baby its just a crazy thing to start
Hold back - hold back your love
Maybe its just the easy way to part
Hold back - hold back
Hold back (hold back)
Hold back your love
Hold back (hold back)
Hold back your love
(baby...) hold back (hold back)
Hold back your love
Baby its just a crazy thing to start
Baby its just a crazy thing
You gotta hold back - hold back your love
(hold back) - hold back your love
(hold back) - you gotta hold back your love
(ooh) you gotta hold back your love
(ooh) hold back your love
Hold back (hold back)
(ooh)
(ooh)
Hold back
(ad lib to fade)
