Simone Weil

We can only know one thing about God - that he is what we are not. Our wretchedness alone is an image of this. The more we contemplate it, the more we contemplate him.

Cat Thoughts

I contemplate the existence of being,
one of my cats say's to me,
as you leave me here alone,
later you bring in things back home,
where have you been you human slut,
I smell others on your skin,
where have you been,
I contemplate the existence of being,
ok I have just been sleeping.

Contemplation

I see an elderly man in need.
I stop - I help.
He thanks me, again and again.
But, that's not the point.....
- that's not IT.
The real gratitude - the true feeling -
Is following the sweet urging of Life.....
- the Love of life, within the love for others.
... I contemplate this, as he waves and goes along his way.....

Contemplation is
Experiencing the presence of God.
Life is present;
How could I not contemplate it.
- These moments, they come,
So unsuspected.
They go, so quickly;
I don't want to let go
... still, they pass...
My world is changed
- for the better -
Forever.

In This Hour Now That Is

In this hour now that is,
You can have that peace of mind.
There is no need to carry a weight.
Or contemplate a cause or need,
To put this off until a later time.

What cost do you pay,
Delaying this to say your life is at a loss?
When you can celebrate,
An appreciation...
To fill your cup!
Eat what is on your plate.
From a buffet selected.
Why wait?
Only you know what cravings are nourished,
When your appetite satiates to flourish.

In this hour now that is,
You can have that peace of mind.
There is no need to carry a weight.
Or contemplate a cause or need,
To put this off until later!
When you can feed that need that pleases...
In this hour now that is!

That’s a childless Madonna staring lifelike

That’s a childless Madonna staring lifelike
from the wall, with eyes moving
as if they are following
every movement, a look-alike

to the mother of God,
as if something divine,
is filling her eyes that are looking in mine
and it feels as if its on holy ground that I trod

with the picture’s countenance having a kind of grace
while the artist Mea watches me,
where I am awestruck by the art, she smiles suddenly.
“Who can contemplate the expression on the painted face? ”

I wonder loudly while it feels
as if the picture is living,
a kind of strange thing
and my mind reels

while I try and contemplate the changing expression
now softening in the fading light
almost becoming indistinct with the coming of night
but the picture retains its original dimension,

is almost surreal and still there
with eyes that never closes watching, always looking
as if comprehending something,
following, following me almost anywhere.

Fault and Reason

All day today,
I've noticed you.
There in my mind,
To remind me,
I've changed!

So much to you,
I wish to say.
Things I've said in the past...
Have faded from my grasp.

And those times I was wrong,
You were there...
Without hesitation,
As I stayed and played a fool.

Finding myself now...
I do not contemplate,
To accept fault and reason...
Why we needed to separate.

All day today,
I've noticed you.
There in my mind,
To remind me,
I've changed!

So much to you,
I wish to say.
Things I've said in the past...
Have faded from my grasp.

I can't pretend,
I am hurting from within.
All my flaws are there to view...
Without you.
Without me.
Without us...
There is no trusting!

Finding myself now...
I do not contemplate.
It was me I had deceived.
And in me you kept believing.
Finding myself now...
I do not contemplate,
To accept fault and reason...
Why we needed to separate.

So much to you,
I wish to say.
Things I've said in the past...
Have faded from my grasp.
And has taught me a lesson,
At last!

And forgiveness from you,
I wish to ask!

A bitter taste of irony (For........)

Often I think just how
nice it would be
to rid myself
of this addiction
that's destroying me.

To wake up and enjoy
the early morning sunshine
and not search for long
lost drops from last
nights bottle of wine.

Or to laugh and smile
in the blessed light of the day
instead of hiding in the dark
which blinds my way.

To live my life without daily despair,
oh to live a life without a care.

Yet the sad truth is I can only
contemplate change
after I have had a drink,
for that is when my mind
is steadied enough to think.

And so to contemplate a better life
I have to go on destroying me,
And that leaves me with
a taste of such bitter irony.

Time 4 prayer isolate,

Beauty Lies On The Shore Of Disgust.

Beauty,

Thunder is beauty
The lightning is beauty,
More than I can imagine

Beauty has rest
It resides along the shores of disgust

Love is beauty
Enough, it will one day bring back
What is lost at shore.

Curse thy beauty
For it is more grand than thou

I crave for a sound of the beauty I can hear
I will never understand

I still wish
To contemplate what beauty would once contemplate

To see it alive, breathing
Breeding, spreading

This of it was once rare as it exceeds
Living amongst this life
A world full of un-needingness

Please as I pleade for a life
I wish to breathe
Amongst the feeling of beauty

The rare of it’s occasion
Hanging on a wall
Jumping from a floor
Dancing in the light
I wish that beauty would live

Beauty can not be one in the deceased
Mearly waiting and suspended along
Shores of that which is disgust.

Heaven’s Nature

It is a part of human nature to be
A measure of awesomeness,
An image of yourself convinces us
It shall be momentous before you die.
You are silver, and I am golden,
For which no blood shall be shed.
Contemplate the awesomeness
Of that day when we are judged;
The heavens, the stars and planets
Would have vanished, leaving us awake
In a resurrected state, in total isolation
From others who we enjoyed.
It is the nature of Man to be convinced
By His Maker, that Heaven shall arrive.

Nature's rebuke; or, What are words worth?

Only recently, you asked me
for my ‘Laws’ – as if you asked the Sun
just where his golden rays shall, in the moment, strike…

and now you rashly ask me, why, then, I create…

you should not have questioned me..
but understand me as I understand myself:
keep silent; understand by silence;
for I am not accustomed to your human talk..

For what is there to understand? What comes to be
comes as the object of my silent contemplation;
comes into being naturally; it is myself.

I too was born of such a contemplation;
and so I have a natural love for that;

as geometricians contemplate, and then may draw,
so my contemplation – in my timeless nature –
brings out of passing time, the products of myself;

and if you find new lines
in bodies that come forth from me,
I did not draw them; though they come from me..

the lines, the frills
of daffodils
all shine, not by my planned design
but from tranquillity;

just contemplate;
and in that state
I’ll be your village preacher;
taken, shaken, by surprise,
you too shall share my nature;

morning, evening,
here nor there,
earth hath no earthly manmade thing
to show more naturally fair;

be tranquil, Will, and just be still;
in silent scents, to taste my will..
all else is hubris; blasphemy;
shut up! and have respect for Me…’

Ready to Dish

The only thing I debate,
Is whether your love saturates.
You say it is unconditional
But there are conditions...
You contemplate!
My schedule is quite tight.
And you know I may show up late.
Why when I arrive for a date with you,
You tell me you hate to wait?

That is no statement to make!

The only thing I debate...
Is whether your love saturates.
And if it does
You seem ready to 'dish'
Something heated much more,
Than I can take?
Much more than what's served on my plate!
A cold shoulder is not my taste.
