It wasn't a checkpoint but a patrol which immediately opened fire after they trained their light on us.

Rat Patrol
Moths beat on the windowpane
Telling me Im not the same
Sounds of nothing, sounds of fear
Speak to me when no ones near
Im on rat patrol
Im on rat patrol
Well, those disappear inside
Floorboards creak and footsteps heard
Headlights turn into the drive
Then disappear into the night
Im on rat patrol

Hell Patrol
Like wild fire
Comes roaring
Mad whirlwind
Burning the road
Black thunder
White lightning
Speed demons cry
The Hell Patrol
Night riders
Death dealers
Storm bringers
Tear up the ground
Fist flying
Eyes blazing
They're glory bound
The Hell Patrol
Brutalize you
Neutralize you
Gonna go for your throat as you choke
Then they'll vaporapeize you
Terrorize you
Pulverize you
Gonna cut to the bone as you groan
And they'll paratamize you
Crome Masters
Steel Warriors
Soul Stealers
Ripping out hearts
They're Devil Dogs

Slake
For sane closure of what was and never is-
and was still is; — though is never was… it—
dark fire black light blissful remorse sorrow's delight
black fire darkened light blissful sorrow remorseful plight
clever anguish, smart your sting, sorrows left though more you bring
leave my stay and march your dirge, happy lies be blissful purge
trustful boast that is it— is what wasn't was— as it is never as was—is
doubtful dream is what it is—what was wasn't, though is can be

Sea Of Sorrow
Mind, of destructive taste
I choose...to stroll amongst the waste
That was your heart
Lost in the dark
Call off the chase
Walls of thought, strong and high
As my castle crumbles with time...
I think of you
Oh, yes I do
Such a crime
Chorus
You opened fire...and your mark was true
You opened fire...aim my smilin skull at you
You opened fire...
I live tomorrow, you Ill not follow
As you wallow in a sea of sorrow
Lines cut across my face
Why you laugh at my disgrace
Ill never know
How far to go
To reach that place

Light Of Darkness
I trained my soul for the lies ahead,
I saved my time for the new dawn.
I tried to decipher life using light,
I tried to purge my soul with light,
But strange as it may sound
The light didn’t heal my soul.
Do I know how to use the light?
If not, how can I reform my ways?
I craved for some knowledge.
Teach me how to use the light, I cried.
All that came was an echo,
None heard my cry.
I wondered why I wasn’t able to use the light,
Everyone knew it, but why can’t I?
My patience drained out of me,
But my will kept me on,
I tried to crawl into the light.
But then I asked myself.
Why the light? Why not darkness?
There, my cry was answered.
I found a new way to use the light,
But strange as it may sound,
The light showed me its true face,
A face that was common for all,
A face of darkness.
I ran into the new face of light,
I ran into the darkness,
And there, my life revealed itself,
I was able to purge my soul with the light of darkness.

Out On Patrol
Look at my soldier boy now
With that big gun in your little hand
As you patrol this foreign land
Hear the mine that clicks beneath your feet
Now do you see the light
Fading while your world is crumbling
Out on patrol
And all you can do is sit and stare
What revelation have you now
What culmination to your speck of life
Your moment in time
As you sit here all alone
Will your buddies come and save your life
But as the enemy appears
See your life flash before your eyes

Habits are comforts
To listen to the tunes that
Your ears are trained on,
To look at things that
Your eyes are trained on,
And to tread the way that
Your feet are trained in
Will appear sweet to you.
Habits bring comfort zones.

My Fire
Fire is my life, fire is my hope, fire is my everything.
Confusion, whipping, whirling never ending.
Always colder, always harder, cruel and devastating all in one.
Fire is my life, fire is my hope, fire is my everything.
Light, I need a light to keep at bay the ever darkening hour.
Searching for warmth, searching to hide, searching to survive.
Fire is my life, fire is my hope, fire is my everything.
A leaf, a twig, anything to find a way.
At last a flame, a hope to guide me from my doom.
Fire is my life, fire is my hope, fire is my everything.
The light is hungry devouring all in its path and growing in strength.
Then suddenly, goodbye mydear with a hiss the light and my salvation go out.
Fire was my life, fire was my hope, fire was my everything.

Beat Patrol
Chorus:
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance...
I will help you if I can
I can change the way you feel today
When your world turns upside down
Its time to make the break and dance into another day
And as the music starts to move you
Then its time to go
Into the streets you dance
And then you lose control
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
This is the age when you must win
Cos there is no gold upon the streets today
You must find it from within
Music brings the dream machine your way
And as the feeling starts to move you
Then its time to go
Into the streets you dance
And then you lose control
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
A say yeah, a say yeah, yeah, yeah
What you say here come the what
Here come the beat, here come the beat patrol
Here come the beat we will dance
Heaven move me, move my soul
Here comes the beat
Here comes the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
Heaven move me... I see it coming... it wont be long now
Here come the beat, here come the beat patrol
We will dance, we will dance
(heaven move me move my soul
Here comes the beat, here comes the beat patrol)...

Fire and Light
Fire and light, fire and light
we were fire and light
before the world began
we shown like stars
now enclosed in flesh
like fireflies in jars
we forget we emit light
and a flame that consumes
Like the earth inside the core
or the lamps inside a room
we are like our Maker
fire and light, fire light,
a love that consumes the cold and night.

In Between
I walked through Heaven's Gates
and St. Peter did not recognize me;
I had not sinned enough to warrant
detection.
I walked through checkpoint after checkpoint
unseen
bathed in light
but opaque
more presence than me,
consumed with curiosity about what lay beyond;
beyond Heavens Gate.
There were lights and sprites, visions and presences
protuberances and quivering entities
all there and not there
around me
but none spoke to me.
Is God's domain heavenly
or a way-point to Limbo,
Hell's Vestibule
or Sacred Angel Space?
The light weakened my eyes
until I could only hear voices
but could not see;
I groped lost,
listening,
hearing
until
I felt the force of transport,
and suddenly
I was hovering above
an edifice
being floated inside
where I materialized
before a still brighter light
which contained the face of
what I thought must be God.
It was too much for me,
my mind blanked
I could not think
beyond a steady rising euphoria;
bodiless
and ether-like
I rose on a soft breeze
quivering in my soul
gradually landing
back on my bed;
my body
remembering
he who touched me
without touching me
who moved his hand
over me
returned my heart to me.
And now,
I lay prone
shaking
feeling the weight of me
on the bed
discharged from the dream;
abandoned
to reality
Not ready for heaven,
not sinful enough for Hell;
still here on earth
unreconciled,
to the In-Between.

She's On Fire
Well this is just between us but between us let's get high
In pictures I have seen her and to see her is truly fine
She's on fire
She's on fire
Flowers in her evening set I get the feeling she won't forget
And there's times you'd long to be her but to be her is surely blinding
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's on fire
And if I could be inside her light
I would steal enough to make my way into the night
And if I could be inside her light I might just find I'd be alright
Well it's not just a daydream if you decide to make it your life
And this is not between us but between us let's keep getting back to where it's from
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's over me
And I'm on to her
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on fire

Fire fly
Fire fly!
Fire fly!
You are my friend and fly!
You are the children's and kid's beloved fly!
You are an insect
You are small in size
You have fire with your body
You make strange noises at night
By the help of your magical fire
You spread light
Your are trying to help people by spreading light
You softens the darkness away by your light
Oh! What a light you got!
Please give me your light
Share the secret of your magic
You are held captive by some naughty children
You are troubled by them
As they torture you
But fire fly! fire fly!
You are my friend...

My boyfriend's idea of a lesson was to take me on a black diamond run in the middle of a hail storm and say, 'Go!' Ski patrol had to escort me to another lift to get me down the mountain. No, that wasn't humiliating, not at all.

Fire on Your Finger
Fire on your finger,
Fire in your eye,
Fire in your spirit,
Fire that won’t die.
Fire in the bare bones of being,
Fire to uphold what’s right,
Fire in the heart of darkness,
Fire to fuel Love’s light.
Fire to burn but not consume,
Fire to learn and not assume,
Fire to live and give living room,
Fire to love and sing her tune.

I grew up being into sports and I wasn't trained to move my body in the right way for dancing. I'm the last one to get any moves correct. In rehearsals it's always, 'OK, one more take for Zac.'
I Know Why The Suicide Dies
I know why the suicide dies
I know his secret wheres and whys
I know all right, why the suicide dies
And you can bet, it's nothing pretty
I know why he's gone astray
It's all the words his brain kept saying
And never stayed quiet, till he went insane
Some was bad, but some just petty
He couldn't stop thinking; I don't know why
And part was truth and part was lie
Scary things, that made him cry
And don't ever think, it was pretty
It wasn't romantic, it wasn't cool
He opened his veins like a bloody fool
He wanted to stop that unraveling spool
Still, you could never be ready
He tried to save the man inside
The ones whose wounds were opened wide
It was far too late, to consider pride
But it was never pretty.

Fire Door
I opened the fire door
to four lips
none of which were mine
kissing
tightened my belt around my hips
where your hands were missing
and stepped out into the cold
collar high
under the slate grey sky
the air was smoking and the streets were dry
and I wasn't joking when I said

Where they had passed
While on patrol
I found a buffalo’s empty cranium
left by hyenas, jackals,
vultures and other carrion eaters
and the section camped
and made a small fire right next to it.
We heated some food from our ration packs
in a fire bucket, killed the fire,
spreading sand over the burning tablets
and slept under a starry sky
with weapons close at hand
and the next morning enemy terrorist tracks
were treaded right next to my head
where they had passed without noticing us.
