I am confident that this legislature will rise above partisan bickering, especially after the public promises its members made last fall, and that it will demonstrate a high capacity for civil service.

I urge the enactment of a civil service law so explicit and so strong that no partisan official will dare evade it, basing all rewards, promotions and salaries solely on merit, on loyalty and industry in the public service.

It's appropriate to celebrate public service, and the thoughtful people who choose to serve. They symbolize what is good and decent about this historic citizen legislature, and we thank them.

The Civil Service is a vital economic asset to the UK - firstly, in the way it creates a framework for excellence in service delivery and secondly, in how it helps organise the best way to deliver modern public services on which both businesses and individuals depend.

Promises
Promises are comfort to a fool.
And I'm that fool.
In our many years of existence we have all had the leading role of being that fool.
Onto promises.......
I have numerous Oscar's for I know I play that role oh so well.
I wondered why do I fall victim to this.
The purpose of a promise was never to break it
BUT.....
If it is broken it becomes a lie.
I wondered why do I fall victim to promises.
It is maybe because I'm a Promise Keeper.
I am an addict for promises.
I could never stay away from it.
Never stop believe in it.
A promise is equivalent to 'say what you mean' and 'mean what you say'.
So when a promise is made to me it is align with the saying,
'It's like taking candy from a baby'.
Not naive for I know never to believe in Promises.
Optimistic, maybe.
I always believe in promises.
WHY? ?
Because when I make them I do my best to keep them no matter the circumstances.
Promises are my Opium.
But I must say most of the promises made to me were kept.
But as for now, , , I'm getting the bad side effects.

This is not the time for partisan bickering. This is not the time for politics as usual. Some of us are Democrats. Some of us are Republicans. Some of us are Independents. Above all, we must be Oklahomans first.

Promises Made
(mark paul/john duarte)
You said goodbye
And broke this heart inside of me
Teardrops fell
Like hours to eternity
The room was silent
As some forgotten melody
Your words of steel
Still echo in my memory
Promises made, promises broken
Promises made, promises broken
I thought we had a chance
To really make it last
Now the future looks to me
Like some unwelcome guest
Ill be alright
As soon as I get over you
But this time it wont be
Such an easy thing to do
Promises made are
Promises broken
Caught up in the sorrow
Tangled in dreams
In the lonely hours
Of silent screams
In the heart of the darkness
I break down
I feel the spirit of you
All around
Promises made are
Promises broken
Promises made are
Promises broken

Harder They Come
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nahnah
Nah nah nah nah nah
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nahnah
Nah nah nah nah nah
I dont need no-one whos gonna tie me down
I need you to let me be
Why is it, they always seem to come around?
I dont have time for me
Have some pride, lift your head high
Walk away while you can
Theres nothing I can do to save you now
So take it like a man
The harder they come, the harder they fall
You think Im yours but Im not at all
The harder they come, the harder they fall around me
The harder they come, the harder they fall
Your confident but youll lose it all
The harder they come, the harder they fall around me
Love my freedom, nothings gonna take it from me
Dont want it to end
I cant see why people always try and change me
Thats not my intent
Have some pride, lift your head high
Walk away while you can
Theres nothing I can do to save you now
So take it like a man
The harder they come, the harder they fall
You think Im yours but Im not at all
The harder they come, the harder they fall around me
The harder they come, the harder they fall
Your confident but youll lose it all
The harder they come, the harder they fall around me

As members of the Body of Christ, each of us have been endowed with a special measure of grace to use in His service. Paul develops this theme in Romans where he states 'For as we have many members in one Body, and all members have not the same office So we, being many, are one Body in Christ, and ever one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether...ministry, let us wait on our ministering or he that teacheth, on teaching Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity he that ruleth, with diligence he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.

I made my mistakes, but in all my years of public life, I have never profited from public service. I've earned every cent. And in all of my years in public life I have never obstructed justice. And I think, too, that I can say that in my years of public life that I welcome this kind of examination because people have got to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I'm not a crook. I've earned everything I've got.

Promises
Remember how it used to be,
Remember how you promised me,
That life would always be good,
You forget the fact you lied to me,
You locked my heart and threw the key,
I'm so misunderstood,
What to say when all the words have gone,
Promises, promises,
What to do when all our thoughts have flown,
Promises, promises,
Remember how I gave my heart,
And all at once we fell apart,
Was I supposed to forgive you,
You forgot the fact you said to me,
That we were for eternity,
You're so easy to see through,
What to say when all the words have gone,
Promises, promises,
What to do when all our thoughts have flown,
Promises, promises,
Remember that I'm over you,
And know that I will make it through,
Hope you never forget it,
The promises you made to me,
Were really lies and fantasy,
Hope you come to regret it,
What to say when all the tears have dried,
Promises, promises,
What to think when all our love has died,
Promises, promises,
The promises we used to keep have gone,
And with them all the words,
That kept us both from seeing what was wrong,
The rest is silent, What to say when all the words have gone,
Promises, promises,
What to do when all our thoughts have flown,
Promises, promises,
What to say when all the tears have dried,
Promises, promises,
What to think when all our love has died,
Promises, promises.

Rise Or Fall
Take action
Gotta raise a fist in blood
Domination
Can't continue acting like jerks
You show me all there's a chance
With only words for defence
There is no freedom to speak, no
Rise or fall
Number one to take the stand
Rise or fall
Take a word from this promised land
Yeah
Your reaction
Sticks and stones are no match for steel
This rebellion
Revolution's in your hands
Now listen
So it's part Apache
Do you know what that means?
Is it a segregation?
Rise or fall
Number one to take the stand
Rise or fall
Take a word from this promised land
Strength in numbers can alter your place
Take the action before it's too late
Make a stand
Give it up
Rise or fall
Number one to take the stand
Rise or fall
Take a word from this promised land
Rise or fall
Number one to take the stand
Rise or fall
Take a word
Take a word from this land
Rise or fall
Rise or fall

Dont Break The Promises
You know I cannot always be there with you
When something crazy takes me far away
We must stick together through this madness
Ive got so many things I want to say
Too many forces try to come between us
So little time to share and talk to you
If I show my hand to you in panic
Please remember what Im going through
Ive loved you forever
But it seems like a day
And I want to be there with you
I didnt want it this way
Dont think I dont trust in you
I just needed to say
Dont break the promises
That we made today, oh no
Dont break the promises
Do you remember counting every moment
Before the world we knew was torn apart
Now when I close my eyes I can be with you
But are we really dancing in the dark
A bad connection leads us to confusion
Were all too easily misunderstood
Oh weve been together through these nightmares
And now weve got a chance to make it good
Ive loved you forever
But it seems like a day
And I want to be there with you
I didnt want it this way
Dont think I dont trust in you
I just needed to say
Dont break the promises
That we made today, oh no
Dont break the promises
That we made today
Dont you break the promises
(dont break the promises, promises)
If you do youll be breaking my heart
(dont break the promises that you made)
Oh dont forget the things we said
(promises, promises)
At the start oh no
Ive loved you forever
But it seems like a day
And I want to be there with you
I didnt want it this way
Dont think I dont trust in you
I just needed to say
Dont break the promises
That we made today, oh no
Dont break the promises
That we made today
Dont break the promises
That we made today
