He put a ring in the toe of a stocking. On Christmas Eve, we opened our stockings and it was there at the bottom of the toe. Then he got down on his knees and he was shaking.

The Christmas Stockings
Children far too young to realize
That some things in life you should prize
We had no jobs and no takings
Bare were the Christmas stockings
Scrounging colourful material
Lace, chintz and chiffon ethereal
Ribbons included in the making
A show for the Christmas stockings
Balls of red and green and scrap yarn
Imaginary faces darn'
On beautiful princess and kings
Displayed in the Christmas stockings
Plywood and some leftover paint
Canopy bed fit for a saint
Pea under mattress, her liking
Endured for the Christmas stockings
A penguin made of black felt
A hobgoblin with a scarlet belt
‘Gold' jewellery box, flaking
Accepted for the Christmas stockings
Coconut ice cut into stars
Liquorice plaited into bars
Brownies and tarts kept me baking
Produced for the Christmas stockings
My daughter was five that year
Son's smiles, laughter brought a tear
After all this time - despite mocking
Treasuring the Christmas stockings
Granddaughters, by the Grace of God
They look like two peas in a pod
Material gathered for the making
Of this year's two Christmas stockings

A Christmas To Cherish And To Remember Always.
Christmas is the time to celebrate
precious memories with loved
ones,
Family and friends sit in front of
the fire place,
The scent of firewood burning,
Gives the house that fresh Christmas
smell,
We Feel the warmth through out
the house,
Making it cozy and relaxing,
Stockings hung up above the fire
place,
soon to be filled with toys big
and small,
Names written on each stocking,
colorfully laced and decorated,
We share old memories of how
things were in our childhood days,
Sipping and savoring every taste of
warm hot chocolate,
Christmas tree decorated from top to
bottom,
Lights twinkle, giving the Christmas
tree a magical look,
Christmas photos on the wall,
Christmas decoration surround us,
We have walked into a Christmas
house filled with holiday cheers,
And a Christmas wreath to fill the
guests with a cheerful greeting,
The scent of ginger bread cookies,
the aroma of cinnamon candles to
delight the guests,
This is a joyful and happy time of
the year,
A Christmas to cherish and to remember
always.

Childhood's Christmas
Christmas opened childhood
Like heroes opened games,
And gifts were just the standard
For those with your same name.
Christmas ringed our childhood
Like hoodlums ring a fight,
And no one could believe it-
That Santa was a lie.
Christmas ended childhood,
That day we knew the truth:
We damned our own eye’s knowledge
Of wisdom's sorry proofs.

'Zat You, Santa Claus?
'Zat You, Santa Claus?
Gifts I'm preparing for some Christmas sharing,
But I pause because,
Hanging my stocking I can hear a knocking.
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
Sure is dark out, ain't the slightest spark out.
'Pon my slackened jaw!
Who's there? Who is it stopping for a visit?
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
Are you bringing a present for me,
Something pleasantly pleasant for me?
Then it's just what I've been waiting for.
Would you mind slipping it under the door?
Cold winds are howling, or could that be growling?
My legs feel like straws.
My my oh me my, kindly would you reply?
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
Hanging the stocking, I can hear a knocking.
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
I say, who's there, who is it? Are you stopping for a visit?
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
Oh there, Santa, you gave me a scare.
Now stop teasing cause I know you're there.
We don't believe in no goblins today,
But I can't explain why I'm shaking that way.
Bet I can see ole Santa in the keyhole.
I'll get to the cause.
One peek and I'll try there; oh oh, there's an eye there!
'Zat you, Santa Claus?
Please, please, pity my knees!
Say that's you, Santa Claus!

Christmas, Christmas
Whenever Christmas comes around
The people seem to be,
Full of love and brotherhood
as far as the eye can see.
Wouldn't it be much better
to act this way all year round
But Jesus is the reason
There's a Christmas.
Christmas, Christmas
Hear the angels sing.
He brought joy to the world
and salvation to all mankind.
Christmas cards and Christmas gifts
are everywhere in view.
Goodies and candy and stocking stuff,
the shoppers all wanting new.
They seem to miss just what it is
The greatest of all God's perfect gifts
It's Jesus, He's the reason
There's a Christmas.
Christmas, Christmas comes and goes
And with it the nations see
That there is a God that many know
Who gave them life eternally?
Wouldn't it be much better
if the whole world could know Him as He is?
It's Jesus, He's the reason
There's a Christmas

Merry Xmas Everyone
Are you hanging up your stockings on a wall ?
It's the time that every centre has a ball
Does he ride a red nosed reindeer ?
Do a 'ton up' on a sleigh
Do the fairies keep him sober for a day ?
So here it is merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
Look to the future now
It's only just begun
Are you waiting for your family to arrive ?
Are you sure you got the room to spare inside ?
Does your granny always tell ya that the old songs are the best ?
She'll be up and rock 'n' rollin' with the rest
So here it is merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
Look to the future now
It's only just begun
What will your daddy do
If he catches mama kissin' Santa ?
Ah ah
Are you hanging up your stockings on a wall ?
Are you hoping that the snow will start to fall ?
Do you ride on down the hillside in a buggy you have made ?
When you land upon your ass then you've been slayed
So here it is merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
Look to the future now
It's only just begun
So here it is merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
Look to the future now
It's only just begun
So here it is merry Christmas
Everybody's having fun
Look to the future now
It's only just begun

Silver Bells
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there is a feeling of christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Greeting smile after smile
And on every street corner youll hear.
Silver bells, silver bells
Its christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling hear them ring
Soon it will be christmas day.
Strings of streetlights even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures
Here the snow crunch, see the kids bunch
It santas big day
And above all the hustle youll hear
Silver bells, silver bells
Its christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling hear them ring
Soon it will be christmas day.

When It Comes To Christmas
Written by teddy gentry, randy owen, and ronnie rogers
Well, imgladlittle johnny wants that remote control
I know Im gonna run it fast as it will go
And jenny wants every game that nintendo makes
Its just around the corner and I cant wait
Ive got my stocking hangin, its time to go to bed
I think I hear some reindeer, I better cover up my head
I know santas gonna bring us something just like he always dod
Yeah, when it comes to christmas Im still a kid
I still like shakin presents underneath the tree
And tryin to figure out what ole santas got for me
Oh, I get so excited on christmas eve
I try my best to close my eyes, but I cant sleep
Well, Ive got my stocking hangin, its time to go to bed
I think I hear some reindeer, I better cover up my head
I know santas gonna bring us something just like he always did
Yeah, when it comes to christmas Im still a kid
When it comes to christmas, Im still a kid
Just a kid

The Bells Of Christmas
Imagine a boy
Kneeling by the window
Lookin out across the driveway at the rain
Will it always rain
I remember the bells
Comin from the churchyard
And I thought they played their music just for me
And day by day
The rain turned to snow
I dont hear them anymore
The bells of christmas
Will ring for us again
When we truly do believe
What christmas really means
So light a candle
That every man may see
The world of hope and promise
Like the one we knew back when and
Well ring the bells of christmas
Once again
There was a girl
Lived around the corner
With eyes as black as marys must have been
I wonder
Does she miss her friend
I remember the day
All the bells were ringing
As I watched her cross the churchyard in the snow
And all my searching
For all I lack
Is just trying to get that feeling back
The bells of christmas
Will ring for us again
When we truly do believe
What christmas really means
So light a candle
That every man may see
A world of hope and promise
Like the one we knew back when and
Well ring the bells of christmas once again
The future of the world, they say
Is in the childrens hands
Perhaps if we could let them lead
Wed come to understand
The bells of christmas
Will ring for us again
When we truly do believe
What christmas really means
So light a candle that every man may see
Like the one we knew back when and
Well ring the bells of christmas once again
Well ring the bells of christmas once again

Merry Christmas (Wherever You Are)
(Jerry Laseter/Mack Vickery)
I had no reason for shopping this season
But I hung your stocking today
It makes me feel better
Though were not together
Youll always be in my heart
Merry Christmas, wherever you are
Since it was Christmas
I thought you might call
Or have you stopped thinkin about me at all
Itd be a perfect white Christmas
A storybook picture
If I could just share it with you
Though youre not here with me
Ive got your memories
They keep me goin sweetheart
Merry Christmas wherever you are
--- Instrumental ---
Though youre not here with me
Ive got your memories
Youll always be in my heart
Merry Christmas wherever you are
Merry Christmas wherever you are...

I Only Want You For Christmas
The snow is falling,it's Christmas Eve
Presents are wrapped under the tree
Is there one for me
I only you want for Christmas baby
I don't need nothing else
I only you want for Christmas baby
Tie a ribbon around yourself
Oh, Tie a ribbon around yourself
I ain't gonna write no letter
To send north to the Pole
'Cause what I'm wanting this year
St.Nick don't need to know
Chorus
So put on your Christmas stockings
I'll find that mistletoe
Let's get into the holiday spirits
Honey ho ho ho
Ho ho ho
Chorus

Something About Christmas
There is something about Christmas,
In Santa Claus and twinkling trees,
In the joy and laughter of every child,
People kneeling in prayer on arthritic knees.
There is something about Christmas,
Though many wishes and dreams may fail.
It is something we have learned to accept
Through each Yuletide trail.
There is something about Christmas,
Something that overwhelms the heart,
And it is displayed in every household
Of thoughtful and gentle people miles apart.
There is something about Christmas,
A magnificent day for old and young,
For it seems that people are more pleasant
When the traditional carols are sung.
There is something about Christmas,
A day of grace and visions of peace
And nothing on earth can destroy it.
Joy and peace on earth will never cease.
There is something about Christmas
When church bells ring and candles glow,
Signaling that Christ was born in a manger
In the holy city of Bethlehem - years ago.

Christmas Island
(lyle moraine)
Lets get away from sleigh bells
Lets get away from snow
Lets make or break some christmas ? dear
I know the place to go
Howd you like to spend chrismas on christmas island?
Howd you like to spend the holiday away across the sea?
Howd you like to spend christmas on christmas island?
Howd you like to hang a stocking on a great big coconut tree?
Chorus:
Howd you like to stay up late like the islanders do?
Wait for santa to sail in with your presents in a canoe
If you ever spend christmas on christmas island
You will never stray for everyday your christmas dreams come true
Bridge
Chorus:
On christmas island your dreams come true

Coming Up To X-mas
Christmas is near,
Crowds of rush everywhere,
Panicking to get all shopping done,
Not missing out you and I,
Christmas is near,
Not far away,
Decorations and lights everywhere,
Presents under the tree,
Waiting to be opened,
By you and everyone,
All the excitment building up,
wondering what you have for christmas,
When you open your presants,
your face just lights up,
you got what you wanted.
Are you ready for christmas?
