But like the rest of the country, Maine has reached an impasse, for most of the mercury that fouls our skies, waters and land comes from outside our borders.

Mercury Blues
(robert l geddins/kc douglas)
Well if I had money
Tell you what Id do
Id go downtown and buy a mercury or two
Crazy bout a mercury
Lord Im crazy bout a mercury
Im gonna buy me a mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well the girl I love
I stole her from a friend
He got lucky, stole her back again
She heard he had a mercury
Lord shes crazy bout a mercury
Im gonna buy me a mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well hey now mama
You look so fine
Ridin round in your mercury 49
Crazy bout a mercury
Lord Im crazy bout a mercury
Im gonna buy me a mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well my baby went out
She didnt stay long
Bought herself a mercury, come a cruisin home
Shes crazy bout a mercury
Yeah shes crazy bout a mercury
And cruise it up and down the road
Well if I had money
I tell you what Id do
Id go downtown and buy me a mercury or two

Im gonna buy me a mercury
And cruise it up and down the road

Maine
Relaxing on my* hands and knees
Relaxing on my* face
Reclining in the bear-trap of its tender warm embrace
Glazed with coniferous green
Glazed with excitement and dread
Exhausted from oversleep
Awake but still in bed
The shaving razors rusty but the sting brings you exactly back to
Maine
Is** the world that went south
Maine
Is** a punch in the mouth
Maine
At the top of the chart
Has crushed my evil heart
Maine
Is the devil you know
Maine
Is the heaven below
Maine
At the top of the chart
Has crushed my evil heart
I love you anyway (I love you anyway)
I promise theres no other state (theres no other state)
But only if you stay away (but only if you leave)
And leave me to my ugly state*** (me to my ugly state)
And give me back my evil heart so I can see you as you are in
Maine
Is the world that went south
Maine
Is a punch in the mouth
Maine
At the top of the chart
Has crushed my evil heart
Maine
Is the poison you love
Maine
Is the hell from above
Maine
At the top of the chart
Has crushed my evil heart

I do care about the mercury contamination which this country will be experiencing because of the attempted sellout by this administration to special interests which will result in more mercury in the blood of young children in America.

Cruisin' round

I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
Ooo, I'm crazy 'bout a Mercury
I'm gonna buy me a Mercury
Cruise it up and down the road
My girl went out
Didn't stay long
Bought herself a Mercury
And Cruised it on home
Cause she know I have a Mercury
Ohh she know I have a Mercury

Waters
Waters, taw, rat, tar, tars, rats, set, rate, rates, tea;
But i only love on water to satisfy my muse!
And like the joy of love in the garden of roses.
Waters, wear, wears, ware, wares, are, ears, waste;
But i only live on with my positive mind always!
And like the muse of your love in the land of peace.
Waters, at, as, tear, tears, sear, sew, rest, war, art, arts;
But i only saw you waiting in the dark alone!
And like the days of war in the land of trouble.
Waters, east, saw, was, eat, ate, wars, raw, sate, sea, ear;
For we are what we say we are on this earth!
But try to be yourself always on the positive side.

Native Title
You are welcome to our country
When full respect is paid
To those who souls grew out from where
Their ancestors were laid
This land is our protector
This land our path in life
This land is our great comforter
This land is hurt by strife
Feel the heart that beats within it
As the seasons come and go
Feel the energy within it
From which everything does grow
This land will guide your footsteps
This land will feed you well
This land needs loving kindly
This land is not to sell
This land is just our country
This land is just our home
For its not just who owns this land
But whom this land does own.

One out of six women are toxic with mercury. Mercury comes out of coal plants and chlorine plants. I am toxic, I deal with symptoms, children are born with, you know, autism - there is an epidemic in this country. This is like, the air that we breath.

Don Juan
(tennant/lowe)
------------
The man whos escorting don juan to his bride
Knows he is courting an impudent pride
Think of his jealousy, oh, where will he hide?
The man whos escorting don juan to his bride
The man who will cover for don juans old soothsayer
Films for a warner brother or mister goldwyn-mayer
Think of his starlet, how much will he pay her?
The man who will cover for don juans old soothsayer
An impasse has been reached with the teacher of the rich
To quit would be discreet and swift
But you know that I cant do that
It would be a disaster
It would be a disaster
Ive got this sinking feeling, Im not dreaming
Well be sorry soon
(hahahahaha)
At the end of the day, when everyones resigned
To the heart of the matter and the measures in mind
King zogs back from holiday, mary lupescus grey
And king alexander is dead in marseilles
An impasse has been reached with the teacher of the rich,
To quit would be discrete and swift
But you know that I cant do that
It would be a disaster
It would be a disaster
Ive got this sinking feeling, Im not dreaming
Well be sorry soon.

Mercury Girl
Shes staying around or else shes goin away
It could be forever or it might be a day
Or may be forever I call her a mercury girl
Shes building me up & then shes knocking me down
Like a factory chimney in a northern town
And I am demolished I call her a mercury girl
She never sees me till the sun goes down
Lives in a secret world
Says: her career is in another town
Life with a mercury girl
One day once when Ive got some time
I try to hold her but she wouldnt be mine
She slipped through my fingers & I missed the mercury girl
She came back to me with her mocking eyes
She told me she loved me but it could have been lies
And life can be up & down, life with a mercury girl
Life can be up & down, life with a mercury girl
One day once when Ive got some time
I try to hold her but she wouldnt be mine
She slipped through my fingers & I missed the mercury girl
And life can be up & down, life with a mercury girl
Life can be up & down, life with a mercury girl

This Land Is Your Land
Well I rode that ribbon highway
I saw above me the endless sky
I saw below me the golden valley
This land was made for you and me
Ive roamed and rambled and followed my footsteps
Through the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was calling
This land was made for you and me
This land is your land
This land is my land
From california
To the new york island
From the redwood forest
To the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
Well the sun came shining and I was strolling
Through wheat fields waving and dust clouds rolling
And a voice was sounding
As the fog was lifting
Saying this land was made for you and me
This land is your land
This land is my land
From california
To the new york island
From the redwood forest
To the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

The Patriot
The patriot from his walls of brass
Is singing loudly as I pass;
With fearless heart and open eyes,
He shouts the ancient battle cries;
And, where I pause to hear him sing,
A silent crowd is listening.
My country, God bestows by thee
The glory of the world to be
The glory thou alone canst give
To last amid things fugitive.
My country, an ideal form
I see thee splendid in the storm,
Directress of the power divine
That makes the expectant future thine.
My country, all the world shall bow
Before thy peace-conceiving brow,
And all the peoples humbly stand
Submissive to thy blessing hand.
My country, yea, the foes who raise
A tyrant flag shall learn to praise
Thy steadfast love that dares to fight
The horde of Satan for the right.
My country, loveliest, strongest, best,
Thou hast a mission to the rest,
And greater wealth and love shall be
The guerdon of thy ministry.
In every land I hear him sing;
In every land I see him fling
His country’s flag against the skies
And gaze aloft with dazzled eyes;
And then his loud applause rings round
His walls of brass with brazen sound;
And deep below his cheering loud
I mark the murmur of the crowd.

True Liberty
The day in which one celebrates, Independence of a union of states,
Independence from powers outside; freedom that was once denied,
The freest nation in this world, a point that others sometimes herald,
Causing many who are weary in heart, to come here for a fresh start.
A day of real joyous celebration, all across this now powerful nation,
As our voices together are raised, with full hearts a nation is praised,
Festive fireworks are always planned, in many cities across this land,
Celebrating what many of us see, as the greatest nation in all history.
Liberty we celebrate by proclamation, extends to all within this nation,
However that liberty extends only, to the borders of this dear country,
Beyond the borders and the sea, the nation’s people may not be free,
When many travel to other lands, freedoms turn into other’s demands.
Demands which turn into bondage, leaving this land of great privilege,
Privileges that others only dream of, as they look to this land we love,
A land that is so blessed by God, many agree, on this day with a nod,
But, forgetting Him most of the year; living so privileged, without fear.
There’s a freedom many don’t know, as their freedoms for them grow,
Liberty, from the bondage of sin, that captivates our land from within,
That freedom which we celebrate, doesn’t free men from Satan’s hate,
As the Devil leads a war against God, all across this land that we trod.
Freedom from such an evil foe, comes only when the Savior we know,
Who left all the Glory of Eternity, coming to earth to set captives free,
The only true freedom on this earth, comes to man, by a spiritual birth,
Through the Liberty in Jesus Christ, when in Him they receive New Life.

On What Constitutes Freedom
On what constitutes freedom we do not agree
For what is freedom to you is not freedom to me
That Countries should have borders you see as okay
But I look at that in a different way
In our thinking of freedom we have got it wrong
The Country we live in to us does not belong
The borders we create we have to defend
One reason that war in the World may not end,
You boast of your love of your National flag
To you something like that does seem well worth a brag
Suppose to each their own as some are known to say
We all look at things in a different way
Your idea of freedom is different to mine
But that you have your own opinions does suit me fine.

Country Alone
There is dreaming land and happy country
Cursed and blessed by her beauty alone
The lost children of the country
Foreign in sweet home alone
Do not understand country
Hardly meaning own name alone
Some praise the country
Some leave and laugh alone
Emptying nectar of country
Satisfying their belly alone
Forget about future seed country
Fight living and growing alone
So tragic for the country
Eaten by her child alone
