The world is a perpetual caricature of itself; at every moment it is the mockery and the contradiction of what it is pretending to be.

I’m Pretending
I’m pretending nothing happened,
that we are still together.
I’m pretending you never
went away with someone new.
I’m pretending we are still a couple,
that you are still nearby.
I’m pretending,
pretending
I am still with you.
I’m pretending that our love
still shines brightly.
I’m pretending that you still care
and lying to myself each day.
I’m pretending that you just stepped out
and that you are not far away.
I’m pretending,
pretending
I am still with you.
I’m pretending it always summer
and that winter never comes.
I’m pretending life is as it was
and I’m forever with you.
I’m pretending you are with me
and not in the arms of someone new.
I’m pretending that I am smiling
and that I’m not feeling blue.
I’m pretending,
pretending
I am still with you.

Pretending
(by jerry lynn williams)
How many times must we tell the tale?
How many times must we fall?
Living in lost memory
You just recalled
Working on the sound of the band
Trying to get the music right
Two go out working
Three stay home at night
Thats when she said she was pretending
Like she knew the plan
Thats when I knew she was pretending
Pretending to understand
Pretending, pretending
Pretending, pretending
Satisfied but lost in love
Situations change
Youre never who you used to think you are
How strange
Chorus
I get lost in alibis
Sadness cant prevail
Everybody knows strong love
Cant fail
Dont be pretending about how you feel
Dont be pretending that your love is real
Dont be pretending about how you feel
Dont be pretending that your love is real
Pretending, pretending
Pretending, pretending

In The Same Moment Death And Birth
IN THE SAME MOMENT DEATH AND BIRTH
In the same moment death and birth joy and sorrow,
A world that goes on contradicting itself in feeling-
No one forever happy always
And no light bright enough to forever shine -
In a world of constant contradiction,
Of never- ending dissonance,
Of always somewhere else something else-
In that world
And in ourselves
We must try to be at home and at one,
For the little time we have.

Im sick and tired(written on August 16,2008)
Im sick of pretending im happy
Im tired of pretending i care
all this pain ive been put through
Is too much for me to bare
Im sick of pretending i love life
im tired of living this lie
fed up with trying to hide my hurt
I just want to sit down and cry
Im sick of pretending i hate you
Imtired of pretending to know
The reasons why you left me
Oh why did you have to go
Im sick of trying
Im tired of crying
Yeah im smiling
But inside im dying

This Kiss - Faith Hill
vs.1 I don't want another heartbreak,
I don't need another turn to cry, no.
I don't want to learn the hard way,
Baby hello, oh no, goodbye.
But you got me like a rocket,
Shooting straight across the sky.
(chorus)
It' s the way you love me,
It's a feeling like this.
It's centrifugal motion,
It's perpetual bliss.
It's that pivotal moment,
It's, ah, impossible.
This kiss, this kiss!
Unstoppable.
This kiss, this kiss!
vs.2 Cinderella said to Snow White,
'How does love get so off course?
All I wanted was a white knight,
With a good heart, soft touch, fast horse.
Ride me off into the sunset.
Baby I'm forever yours.'
(chorus)
It's the way you love me,
It's a feeling like this.
It's centrifugal motion,
It's perpetual bliss.
It's that pivotal moment,
It's, ah unthinkable.
This kiss, this kiss!
Unsinkable.
This kiss, this kiss!
You can kiss me in the moonlight,
On the rooftop under the sky, oh.
You can kiss me with the windows open,
While the rain comes pouring inside, oh.
Kiss me in sweet slow motion,
Let's let everything slide,
You got me floating,
You got me flying.
(chorus)
It's the way you love me,
It's a feeling like this.
It's centrifugal motion,
It's perpetual bliss.
It's that pivotal moment,
It's (ah) subliminal.
This kiss, this kiss!
It's criminal.
This kiss, this kiss!
It's the way you love me, baby,
It's the way you love me, darlin'.
(chorus)
It' s the way you love me,
It's a feeling like this.
It's centrifugal motion,
It's perpetual bliss.
It's that pivotal moment,
It's (ah) subliminal.
This kiss, this kiss!
It's criminal.
This kiss, this kiss!

It's the way you love me, darlin'.

Pretending
Love is a flame that can't be tamed
And though we are its willing prey, my darling
We are not the ones to blame
Trust is a word all lovers know
The glorious art of staining souls, my darling
We are not the ones to blame
The more we have the more we want
And the more it hurts our hearts, my baby
It always ends up in tears
So keep on pretending
Our heaven is worth the waiting
Keep on pretending, it's alright
So keep on pretending
It will be the end of our craving
Keep on pretending
It's alright
When doubts arise the game begins
The one we will never win, my baby
It always ends up in tears
So keep on pretending
Our heaven is worth the waiting
Keep on pretending, it's alright
So keep on pretending
It will be the end of our craving
Keep on pretending
It's alright
Come on...
So keep on pretending
Our heaven is worth the waiting
Keep on pretending, it's alright
So keep on pretending
It will be the end of our craving
Keep on pretending
It's alright
Love is a flame that can't be tamed

Pretending
I was right the first time
But I outguessed myself
You sympathized so sweetly
When you sent me to hell
What have I got to complain for
Had to throw myself overboard
Like to see that my dues are paid
Its just the way I was made
And when I cry, I was burning inside
Youre out there pretending
And though I lie, I had nothing to hide
Youre the one whos pretending
I live in anticipation
Things that never occurred
Turned my back to the loving ones
On the strength of your word
Whats the answer Im looking for
You mix your meanings with metaphors
Glass bricks and a ten foot wall
You really dont care at all
And when I came to relieve all the pain
You were somewhere pretending
And Im still here, and its still just as clear
That youre only pretending
I believe in believing
And I hope that theres still hope for me
cause I need to be needing
And youre free to be free as you please
But Im not the kind
Who can live with life
And I never could
cause Im just no good at pretending
Whats the truth after all this time
Is it your perception or is it mine
Sometimes youre better off alone
You cant get blood from a stone
And while you cry, Ill be laughing inside
cause I know youre pretending
Look me straight in the eye
When I tell you good bye
cause I wont be pretending
You could beg me and fall down on your knees
But youd just be pretending
Maybe someday youll have something to say
And you wont be pretending

Brokenhearted
Youve been living in a world of fiction, and you cant see whos wrong, no
Youve been living in the past, its a contradiction, and this cant carry on
When I get lonely, you will too
You better face the fact that no onell come n want you, baby
Chorus:
Welcome to the world of the brokenhearted, I welcome you
Welcome to the world of the brokenhearted, I welcome you
Youve been heading down the road to nowhere, and you dont know the way
There used to be a time Id be there, but now Ive got no need to stay
So take a look around you, remember who you are
You know you had your chance, but now youve pushed me way too far
Chorus
I know you know what it feels like to have friends that tell you wrong
When you come running to me, youll find that I can be so strong
(solo)
Youve been living in a dream, its ending, so open up your eyes
And youve been living out a lie, pretending
Fooling yourself, and you dont know why
When you get lonely, when you get down
You better face the fact that I wont be around, baby
Chorus repeats out...

The Worlds A Masquerade
Skip scarbrough
Can this world be a masquerade
Are you really what we see on the outside
And hidin what what you really are on the inside
Pretending that youre something youre really not
Whole world is a masquerade
Everybody, everybody wears another face
Cant you see what you really are
Pretending that you want the world to be a better place,
Fightin, makin war on your fellow man
So why wear this face
That makes it seem everythings so great
Whole world is a masquerade
Everybody, everybody wears another face

To Rest in Peace
I feel more like a corpse pretending to live;
yet even death could not promise peace
by not having you.
Even death could not guarantee rest
to my broken heart that's pretending
to beat for you.
I am in that dark abyss again,
pretending to see.
Yet what's in there for me?
Nothing but nothing again.
What else could be grasped in the darkness?
Just but a silhouette of you.

There Is No Contradiction
Why is it wished that he be replaced?
Your opponents believe he is great!
'He is incompetent.
Knows nothing about diplomacy.
Has failed every test thrown in his face.
And has ruined all our lives.
He is the reason wht our standards and values,
Have taken a steady nose dive.
That's odd.
You made the same exact comments,
That last time we sought your opinion.
But then...
Someone else had been elected years ago.
What is your explanation,
For what seems to be a contradiction.
'Oh?
There is no contradiction at all.
Those are the same comments I will make,
Whoever is elected and sits in that seat of power.
I am exercising my right to complain and speak my mind.
Like the rest of the ones protesting the loss of their entitlements.
And those high paying jobs we had for doing absolutely nothing,
That we miss dearly.
No!
There is no contradiction.
I am just as self centered now as I was back then! '

We Live In Contradiction And Paradox
WE LIVE IN CONTRADICTION AND PARADOX
We live in contradiction and paradox-
We are more and less than we want to be-
Our self- definition is over- definable and indefinable
Too much and too little
Too less and too more
We are incredible and trivial to a simple and endless degree-
Who we are and what we are now-
All the mysteries of the stars cannot know-
Why we are what we will be
Only God knows.

The Moment (barack Hussain Obama’s Inauguration)
The moment of Obama’s inauguration
Was a fluke of fate written for the nation
It was a moment to be cherished
For all citizens including the perished
It was a moment that brought glory
For abandoning the discriminatory
It was a moment that scribbled in history
And will be every child’s bed-time story
It was a moment that castigated treason
And brought in for the future, a reason
It was a moment that penalized felony
A moment the history foresaw
It was a moment that put an end to racism
Making every black and white equally blossom
It was a moment for the South Africans
A moment that promised the world would awaken
(written for obama, who will bring a change to the world dominating US)
