You have to take into account it was the cell phone that became what the modern-day concept of a phone call is, and this is a device that's attached to your hip 24/7. Before that there was 'leave a message' and before that there was 'hopefully you're home.'

Cell Phone Mania
Cell phones to the right,
Cell phones to the left,
Cell phones, cell phones,
everywhere I look.
Red alert, stop! Listen,
shut up and drive,
shut up and read,
Cell phones, why so many.
Everyone talking,
cell phones in cars,
cell phones in bars,
eating places, cell phones.
There you can't escape
from them, you say
to yourself, the restroom,
no one would dare
use cell phone in there,
oh no, I hear someone,
talking to me, I answer them,
oh, sorry sir, did not know you
were on cell phone.
Oh, so many,
shut up, and walk.
Do away with cell phones,
and it would be like,
the crash of '29'.
People need cell phones,
sometimes their nice,
to have, but so many,
cell phones, might
as well join them
if you can't lick 'em,
join them.
Cell phone, cell phone
now how do I use this
thing, oh cell phone, cell phone,
Hello, Hello, oh that's
you mert.

CP- To Mader
So one night it was dark and I couldn’t see,
I picked up my phone no one to disagree.
I was in possession of a beautiful phone,
Even though the phone was of a girlie tone.
I started checking my message to find out,
That maybe this isn’t my phone – hmm doubt.
But could this be the phone of my eye candy,
Maybe she could be unmarried and change her name to Sandy.
Hmm the possibilities of the owner of the stolen phone,
Oh goodness maybe I should watch my tone.
I return the untouchable phone back to her,
“I thought it was my phone” I said in transfer.
Oh the purple phone that was like mine,
Oh purple phone oh purple phone I let out a sigh….

Messages Lost In A Lonely Night
Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep.
Is the sound of my nights cell phone messages.
As my lover finally comes within cell phone range.
My lover will find nine separate cell phone messages.
As she comes within range of this night’s pleading paging.
All those messages build to ask; compel her to come to me.
Message one was subtle and said
“Enjoy dancing and a few drinks tonight. My love,
If you need me I am only a phone call away.”
It had a picture icon of enjoying drinks.
Message two said “Where is my little froggy voice? ”
Because a week ago you were ill my love.
It had the picture icon of a happy party.
Because you were out on the town partying.
Message three sadly said “You should have visited me
tonight my love.” It had the picture icon of a sad face.
Message four said simply “I miss you!
Why did you not come to me my love? ”
It had the picture icon of the broken hearted lover.
Message five said “Put another log on the fire and come! ”
It had the picture icon of a dog warm and snugly at home.
Message six said “It is 12 o’clock Cinderella
quick run to me my love! ”
It had the picture icon of the magic of meeting a rabbit;
coming out of a magician’s hat. An excellent trick.
Message seven said “Why did you not come to me? ”
It had the picture icon, of a cute cuddly, teddy bear.
Message eight said “Your nightie is under
the pillow (in its place) beside me my love.”
It had the picture icon of a man happily winking.
Message nine disappointed said “You did not
come because you do not love me enough.
True love always finds a way.” It had the picture icon
of a cloudy rainy day. Because my love remained away.

Sorry, Wrong Number
Those handy little Cell phones have changed
They do things now that can enthrall.
They play music, games and take pictures too
They can even make a phone call.
And if voice mail is not enough
You can type a text that‘s wordy
By using the little keyboard
That’s much too small but QWERTY.
With all of the things Cell phones can do
There’s just one thing I am berating.
It is what this little device has done,
For the wonderful word of dating.
When on a first time dinner date
And her Cell phone rings
It can be a harbinger
Of what the future brings.
Depending on her reaction
You’ll soon find out your fate.
Whether it will be an early evening
Or you’ll be getting home very late.
This is a human application
That can cause one to burn.
But, better than going to the ladies room
With her never to return.

Had to phone ya
Had to phone ya just to talk to you
Had to phone ya just to tell ya I was missing you
It lifts my spirits every single time
Sometimes youre busy for awhile
But when you get through

Youre not alone ya know Im only just a dial away
I visualize that youre looking fine
Feels so good when you come on the line

Renda Writer - The Other Line
I saw a man
Fishing
Off the side of the pier
Fishing for a fish
And then...
His cell phone rang
He picked it up
And began talking
Cell phone in one hand
Fishing pole in the other
And then...
The tip of his pole
Started bending
He got a bite
And then...
He said
To the person on the phone
'Let me call you back,
I've got someone on the other line'

No More Lies
Everything
Everything reminds me
Easily
You walking out so easily
No goodbyes
Not even a tear for me
Now you cry
Youd like to have my company
But Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone
No more lies
I dont need this anymore
Ive heard it all
Now Im gonna close the door
Seems to me
Nothing comes that easily
Time to leave
Youll take it all and run from me
But Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone
Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone
But Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone
Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone
But Im not gonna call you again
Im not gonna pick up the phone
No Im not going through it again
Youre not gonna leave me alone

I Hate My Phone
Have you ever had a phone?
That you couldn’t stand?
If you have, you are not alone.
My phone doesn’t like to follow my command!
My phone hates me!
I hate it!
I would love to throw it in the sea,
But, my life would be gone I have to admit!
I hate my phone!
What can I do?
If only another one I could own.
Another phone I need, but it should be new.
If I get a new phone it will need,
A camera that pictures and video it takes,
Unlimited texting is what we agreed.
I have no time for mistakes!
Also, I would need free long distance,
In case there is someone I want to call that is not where I am,
No, I don’t need any assistance.
For my new phone, all I have to say is DANG!
My new phone will be the envy of everyone,
Everyone will want mine,
To bad that they don’t get it, I’m the only one,
There is no need to whine!
Go Ocean, Go Ocean, Go Ocean!
That’s what they’ll be saying!
I and my phone will be all the rage and commotion!
Everyone will be around me and no, nobody will be playing!
I hate my phone,
I need a new one,
I know I’m not alone,
To have the greatest and newest phone would be fun!
Go Ocean, Go Ocean, Go Ocean! ! ! !
I still hate my phone!
Ha, this poem is long because of a motion!
Ha, I got many problems, luckily I’m not alone!
I Hate My Phone! ! !

Shorty
Intro]
Shorties everywhere
Bounce, bounce
Uh huh, now bounce, bounce
Come on, uh huh
Come on shorty
Bounce, bounce
(Bounce for me)
That's right, come on
I met her at a naughty show
I'm thinking 'bout felacio
But, but you gotta hit me, oh
Didn't think she would though
Got home and had a voice mail
It's her, like butter for real
Left the number to her cell
Sayin' when I'll be free, give her a yell
Never knew you'd be the one for me
Never knew all the things you done, done for me
Who'd have known you'd have a son for me
Just gotta let you know
Shorty
You can have my box number, cell number
Fax number, mamma number
Call me
I'll be right there
Always baby, cuz you want me
Phone me
I will never hurt you
Never leave you, I'll always want you
Shorty
You know you're like my homey
Cuz you're my shorty
She the type that go outside, house shoes
Weave undone, and still look good, son
Type to fight at the club
When a nigga' tryin' to mug
Cuz it's how she show her love
Type that go through your pants pockets when you sleep
Check your pager when it beep
Tryin' to catch you on the creep
She'll wash your clothes, cook your food
Watch the kids, love at the same time
I'm so glad she's mine
I knew you were the one for me
I know my playa days were done for me
Shorty girl, you're really something
And I just wanna let you know, oh
Shorty
You can have my box number, cell number
Fax number, mamma number
Call me
I'll be right there
Always baby, cuz you want me
Phone me
I will never hurt you
Never leave you, I'll always want you
Shorty
You know you're like my homey
Cuz you're my shorty
Shorty gotta let you know
How much you mean to me
I'll never let you go
Never, never, never
Shorty, shorty
You've always been down for me
(Always been down for me)
Always been down for me
So anything you'll ever need
(Anything you'll ever need)
Oh (Let me know)

Spiderwebs
You think that we connect
That the chemistrys correct
Your words walk right through my ears
Presuming I like what I hear
And now Im stuck in the web
Youre spinning
Youve got me for your prey...
Chorus:
Sorry Im not home right now
Im walking into spiderwebs
So leave a message
And Ill call you back
A likely story, but leave a message
And Ill call you back
You take advantage of whats mine
Youre taking up my time
Dont have the courage inside me
To tell you please just let me be
Communication, telephonie invation
Im planning my escape...
Chorus:
And its all your fault
I screen my phone calls
No matter who calls
I gotta screen my phone calls
Now its gone too deep
You wake me in my sleep
My dreams become nightmares
cause youre ringing in my ears

Pain Of Existence Without.....
It was pain of existence without your phone calls.....
This pain was not related to time, as time moved on.....
but the pain remained, pain and more pain....
without a phone call from you........
Time started moving, but there was no phone call, , , , , ,
I was lost with the acute awareness of this great pain.....
pain and more pain......
I wish I could tell you how much your phone calls mean to me, , , , ,
what if we have not met, what if we have not seen each other
but dear your phone call is what makes me pull through my day....
your voice is a magic to me, it is music to my ears....
but dear you never called.... and the pain remains...
The pain reminds me of the wonderful times we had....
the long phone calls.... your voice, your silence, , your moans
all this was so wonderful, which meant so much to me....
but dear you never called........
come back and call me dear...... and tell me how much I mean to you
call me once my love........
I wait for your magic voice, for all wonderful things you tell me....
for all the beautiful moments over phone we had.......
I wait with great pain, pain and pain.....
Just to hear you..... or get a message from you
Your messages are my breakfast, my dinner, , , ,
I sleep thinking of you hearing you, reading you...
I wake up to read your message..........
But dear you never called you never messaged....
come back just once my love come back
I just want to tell how much I miss your voice.............
The 'Poem A Day' Project - Day 16
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’m feeling all alone
I can’t connect with my friends out there
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I miss its ringing tone
I’ve searched for it everywhere
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve lost my mobile phone
And now I cannot roam
I must stay near in case it rings
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I do not wish to moan
It has numbers, dates and all kinds of things
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve lost my mobile phone
And now I guess I’m prone
To wander like a lost zombie
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve lost my mobile phone
I’ve no mind of my own
Without it there to organise me
I’ve lost my mobile phone

The difference between talking on your cell phone while driving and speaking with a passenger is huge. The person on the other end of the cell phone is chattering away, oblivious.

The Wal Mart Foot
I drove to Wal mart the other day
When I parked and got right out
A woman with a little girl
Began to cry and shout
“There’s a foot hanging out
Of a car right over there, ”
She pointed nearly hysterical
So of course I began to stare
My husband started to walk away
When I grabbed his arm and said
“Don’t leave now, look over there
Looks like somebody’s dead”
“It’s not real, ” he said with a glance
The woman’s cell phone was at her ear
“Oh yes it is, she said emphatically
“It is exactly what I feared”
My husband, brave as he can be
Walked over and grabbed right on
“See, it’s just a rubber foot”
He reached for the lady’s cell phone
“Lady, It’s not an emergency, ”
He said right in the phone to 911
'It’s a rubber foot this lady saw, '
And handed her back the phone
I know that there are many times
We don’t see what we think you see
But when I looked at the hole in that car
It looked like a foot jutting out to me!

I Say I Love You And I Bring You Flowers
a bit romantic, i come across the procedure
to wooing my new found crush
just a few cubicles away,
sending messages through the cell phone maybe too modern
she may not like it
calling her through the phone, maybe, sort of fresh and rash,
sending chocolates maybe alright, but it will be bad for her health
(she is a little bit fat but she is not that gross, she's still pretty)
and so i decided to send her flowers
she did not like it, she needs money.

God
God I thought you were trying to get to me so I got off the phone.
God come on and talk to me if you’ve got something to say.
God hurry up—you’ve got eternity but I’ve only got a few million lousy minutes.
God I’ve got other people to talk to.
God I’ve got bigger fish to fry if you aren’t telling me anything.
God is this some kind of sinister practical joke?
God either you’ve got a message for me or not.
God leave your message at the beep, I’m not home anymore.
God if you’re stalling for time it’s not working.
God I’m gonna get back on the phone soon, talking to people with something to say.
God this charade is over—it’s the last time you make me think you’re coincidence.

Immaterial
Seasons are changing
The evenings closing in
Buy a small house down
Where everything looks bright
And cleaned so right
I hope I can see you
You seem so far away
Everyones leaving, theyve got to get away
And search for that dreamland so pack your bags
Create the brand new day
I hope I can see you
So many miles from home
Im lost without a phone
But around the world we go
What can I tell you?
Its immaterial
And what can I say now that Im out in the cold?
Your letters speak of so many things we find so rare
A steady job, cold charity
But its kinder so they say...
I hope I can see you
So many miles from home
Im lost without a phone
But around the world we go
What can I tell you?
Its immaterial
And what can I say now that Im out in the cold?
Wherever you set your heart
Its best to call it home
But in a modern world
10,000 leagues are not too far to rome
I hope I can see you
So many miles from home and Im lost without a phone
But around the world we go
What can I tell you?
Its immaterial
And what can I say now that Im out in the cold?
Its immaterial
Its immaterial
