I came from a broken home, so my mom was a major influence in my life.

For the ordinary man is passive. Within a narrow circle (home life, and perhaps the trade unions or local politics) he feels himself master of his fate, but against major events he is as helpless as against the elements. So far from endeavouring to influence the future, he simply lies down and lets things happen to him.

Home Is Home
Here is home
Home is home
No place like home
Home is where u are welcome
Come home,
Come back home
You yearn for their zone
But it can't be your home,
Your relics are here,
You are only there
Where you can only desire
But can never acquire.
They quit you when they please
For you are only there on lease.
Come home with your cream,
Come home with your dream,
Come lets build ours
In these fleeting hours.

When Broken, Nothing Can Be Made Anew!
A broken door can"t be made like one new;
A broken fence needs to be mended well;
A broken wall has to be rebuilt much;
A broken branch cannot be fixed again!
A broken mirror cannot be made whole;
A broken toy cannot be glued like new;
A broken home cannot be back reset;
A broken marriage can't blossom once more!
A broken heart remains anguished for long;
A broken friendship stays estranged for sure;
A broken bone may heal but weakened stays;
A broken soul struggles for want of grace!
All things when newly made look simply great!
You cannot mend life's broken slate at all!

Broken Down
By simon climie & dennis morgan
Everything was wonderful when you were in my life.
Yesterday we were on a roll, baby, then we end up in a fight.
Everywhere I look, I see problems, where I never seen before.
The cracks in the sidewalk, when I get home my key dont even fit the door.
The moon dont shine, its broken down.
The clouds are crying, theyre broken down.
The car wont start, its broken down.
And this shattered heart, its broken down.
My whole damn world, its broken down.
Since you left me girl, Ive broken down.
Stepped outside into the night, I took a walk around the block.
I stopped by the church that I used to go inside but even that door was locked.
So I came back home, feeling so alone, a light had burned out in the hall.
My tv is broke, said Im out of smoke, theres no one I can even call.
Chorus
Said my whole damn world, its broken down.
Since you left me girl, Ive broken down.
Till you come back, come back to me, Im going to be broken down.
Till you come back, come back to me, Im going to be broken down.
Chorus
I mean my whole damn world, its broken down.
Since you left me girl, Ive broken down.
My whole damn world, its broken down.
Since you left me girl, its broken down.

Of A Broken Heart
If only I die
Just once in my life
If only to try
To take a guess, to be the best
A feeling I hide
That runs this world, that keeps us alive
I want you to climb with me
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die
The heart of a child
Is in your hands now
So lets see you smile
cause Im not impressed with your loneliness
And its been a while
Since you forgave all your changes made
So lets count the miles together
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die
If only I die
Just once in my life
If only to try together
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die

Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five,
Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff
This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell me wife I love her very much she knows"
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....
"Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do.

The industry does have some influence on who gets other awards. With the Mercury Prize, they don't. Jon comes from the business, but his heart is still very much in the music. Currently, we have about 12 major names that have said they want to be a part of MUDDA.

Major Barbara
Major
Major barbara sits in the fields
And waits for her crops to grow
She sits in a chair
She made out of wood
So many, many years ago
Major, why dont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow
She waits all day
And hopes through the night
For a new day that might show
A bright yellow sun
Thatll make the crops come
And let the old days go
Major, why wont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow
Major
Look out in your fields
Tell me what do you see shinin through
Major
Look after your fields
And your fields will look after you
Yes they do
Yes they do
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Major, why wont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow

Where Do The Broken-hearted Go
I want to know
where do the broken-hearted go
so I go there and live my life so.
We were happy and in love,
but someone else enticed her away.
I got home one day and she was gone.
She had left me for another
with no reason why.
Now I want to know
where do the broken-hearted go
and I will join them there.
Elvis once sang of the heartbreak hotel.
I wonder if it is still open,
if it is I will join the broken hearted there.
There is no way I can get her back
for I don’t know where she is,
only that she is gone
and my life is a total wreck.
The ghost of her presence
still lingers everywhere.
Now I need so desperately to know,
where do the broken-hearted go.

Love and influence
My love for my son was absolute
As my influence on him was total
When he was a child.
My love for my son was patchy
As my influence on him was partial
When he has become a father.
My love for my son was little
As my influence on him is nil
When I became invalid.
Influence controls love.

The fact that Stravinsky used the classics as a major influence is obvious. What is interesting is how he used them, how he turned Bach into Stravinsky.

All Souls Night
It is all souls might here at home because it was declared by God today
And if you have all have broken souls that were broken by your Girlfriends here at home you can come to it
But remember that it is going to take place in God's home here onearth
So all of you must dress warm tonight before leaving home so all of you Don't get ill or freeze to death

Broken (work in progress)
falling into the sullen
gray slumber of
my broken dreams
to the off-key melody
of my broken guitar
echoing the sound
of my broken heart
i yearn for glue
with which to mend
my broken home
that shattered along
with the pink guitar
both, when whole,
held beautiful music
but now i have only
scars as my token
of a life that lies
in hell, alone and broken.
(alternate ending. w.i.p.)
so i gathered all the pieces
though sharp edges
drew my blood
and fashioned a new heart
with holes to let love in
for i refuse to stay
alone and broken.

Planet Telex
You can force it but it will not come
you can taste it but it will not form
you can crush it but it's always here
you can crush it but it's always near
chasing you home saying everything is broken
everyone is broken
you can force it but it will stay stung
you can crush it as dry as a bone
you can walk it straight home from school
you can kiss it
you can break all thr rules but everything is broken
everyone is broken
why can't you forget?

Major League Baseball has always recognized the influence that our stars can have on the youth of America. As such, we are concerned that recent revelations and allegations of steroid use have been sending a terrible message to young people.
Home
the home is where the heart is.
we always know where our hearts are.
we therefore know where that home is.
somehow, my heart is broken
and i have lost my home
and i do not know anymore where that home is.
until you come to my life, pointing to me that way to
my new home.
thank you.

When My Own House Is In Order
What level of influence do I have,
If my debits outweigh my credits?
What rating am I given for illusion?
There is a difference between wanting success,
And being successful.
And desire plays a major role,
As to how that is motivated in my head!
And the 'T'...
When capitalized and placed in front of 'ruth'
Has such a believability that becomes rooted!
When periodic escapades,
Begin to establish themselves as tired routines...
The mind can tackle anything and accomplish it!
Just like the disappearance of insecurities,
One attempts to burden others with!
What level of influence do I have,
If my debits outweigh my credits?
What rating am I given for illusion?
None of that comes into play...
When my own house is in order.
And my backyard has been cleared of all debris!
