My entire life has been spent thinking about this game. That's pretty narrow... I don't view myself as a person who's well-versed in very many subjects. I'm not proud of that.

Loneliness Game
She could have anything
But still shes down
The happiness that means everything
Is not around
On the outside
It looks like a perfect world
Inside I know what youre thinking
Shes too pretty to be sad
Shes too rich to cry
Shes no different
Shes just the same
No ones left out of this loneliness game
She cant find her way out of the loneliness game
No she cant find love
Pearls dont mean a thing
When loves not there
No gold or diamond rings
Can stop the tears
From the outside
You couldnt feel her pain
Inside I know what youre thinking
Shes too pretty to be sad
Shes too rich to cry
Shes no different
Shes just the same
No ones left out of this loneliness game
She cant find her way out of the loneliness game
No she cant find love
In the loneliness game, the loneliness game
She lies awake at night
Alone in silence
She reaches for the light
And waits for guidance
Shes too pretty to be sad
Shes too rich to cry
Shes no different, shes just the same
No ones left out of this loneliness game
She cant find her way out of this loneliness game
No she cant buy love
In the loneliness game, the loneliness game ...

Polly

Polly wouldn't listen to her Mama,
Polly wouldn't listen to her Papa.
She tried to make the swinging city scene,
And now there's not a place that Polly hasn't been.
Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
Oh, I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.
Pretty Polly, dressed as jolly as can be,
She's so darling, all the fellas do agree,
And half a million people can't be wrong,
Oh, I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.
Polly wrote a letter to her Mama,
Polly made confessions to her Papa.
Mummy's proud 'cause Polly's still in chains
She's happy now her baby's coming home again.
Pretty Polly, she learned that life is just a game,
She is sorry, she just had to break the chains.
And Mama knows, 'cause Mama was the same
Oh, she's happy now her baby's coming home again.
Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
Oh, Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.

I didn't mind studying. Obviously math and the physical science subjects interested me more than some of the more artistic subjects, but I think I was a pretty good student.

When you do a lot of acting your entire life, you see the entire set from one point of view. To have a chance to step back and pull it all together is really exciting. You want to do it all; you want to have a hand in everything.

Life's Dance
In truth, I could live without you,
But that wouldn't be a life worth living.
Since you've been away,
My head went astray,
And I don't know what to do.
I can't sleep at night,
Getting up doesn't feel right,
Because I know I won't see you.
There is no promise of tomorrow,
But there is the promise of today,
Which will not be spent in sorrow or wishing my life away.
Instead it will be spent thinking,
Thinking about if I get the chance,
How I will spend tomorrow,
Dancing with life's dance.

The Narrow Way
Narrow thinking is the only way; everything else is stubble and hay.
The sin of arrogance and of pride, is the reason why our Jesus died.
Even Jesus had intolerant views, and He’s the author of Good News.
For Jesus said “I am the Way”; a pretty bold statement for one to say.
Today many have come to endear, Christ’s Truth which is quite clear,
While others with darkened minds, embrace thinking of a different kind.
Although Jesus was very clear, many men seek their own way I fear.
They go on to a destructive path, ending not in blessing but in wrath,
For these men have no reverent fear, and their end is also quite clear:
They will be told to depart from Christ, at the end of their earthly life.
Christ also said He was The Truth; The Word alone is substantial proof,
Proof that Christ was the one, that The Bible said one day, would come.
Coming as the prophets foretold, makes His word more valued than gold.
But wicked men malign The Truth, with doubting hearts filled with reproof.
But Christ is The Eternal Truth friend, and all will see this come the end.
Friend, one other claim of Jesus Christ, is that for all men He is The Life.
He gave His life up for all men, so that in Him they are not condemned.
The life Jesus came down to give, is more than the life that you now live.
For all who come to Christ and believe, Eternal Life they shall receive.
But without Him upon you last breath; you face not life but eternal death.
For He is The Way, Truth and Life, and yes friend, that is Jesus Christ.
So the very words of Christ you read, are eternal words you must heed.
And friend, narrow is the only path, which for all eternity indeed will last.
And broad is the one to destruction, and that’s not man’s mere deduction.
For not broad but narrow is the one, to Eternal Life with God’s Only Son.
A person of high principles is one who can watch an entire chess game without making a comment.
The Proud Poet
Yes, he was proud... outspoken, too
And quick to give his point of view
And slow to praise what others did,
A spoilt brat, a spoilt kid...
Yes, he was proud and criticised,
All other poets were downsized,
When in full flow, declined to halt,
Yet he was honest to a fault...
Yes, he was proud, but there's no doubt
He knew what he was all about...
His books sold well, he wanted more,
He entertained, he knew the score...
Yes, he was proud, but life's a game,
To be well-known was his first aim...
That's why the papers loved him so
And quoted him when in full flow...
Yes, he was proud, a character
And like a villain, as it were...
But he stirred poets far and wide
When he hurt them, yes, deep inside...
So let's not judge him at his worst
And pray to God that he be cursed,
For he provoked the better part
In service to this thing called art...

Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do
Shoulda seen the look on the face of the boss of the second shift,
When I threw my hard hat at him,
An' suggested the box where he could stick it.
I walked downstairs an told 'em I was leavin' Bethlehem,
Like I'd seen the Saviour, had tears in my eyes,
Holdin' my hands up an' shoutin': "Amen."
'Cause there ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do.
I spent most of my life a-wrapped up tight,
In somebody else's hand-me-down old shoes.
Startin' today, I'm someone I'd be proud to know:
You might tell me where to go,
But there ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do.
We buried Daddy just like week at the church to save his soul.
Man, he dreamed of pilot's wings:
Spent his whole life diggin' coal.
I got a guitar under my bed, but I've been too scared to fly.
But that's enough of that stuff, I'm packin' up my truck:
They can just kiss my butt goodbye.
Instrumental Break.
'Cause there ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do.
(Ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do.)
I spent most of my life wrapped up tight,
In somebody else's hand-me-down old shoes.
Startin' today, I'm someone I'd be proud to know:
You might tell me where to go,
But there ain't nobody gonna tell me what to do.
I walked downstairs an told 'em I was leavin' Bethlehem.

I Have Spent My Life
I HAVE SPENT MY LIFE
I have spent my life
Walking
And Thinking
And Writing Poems.
A happy life
A blessed life
I thank God for it
As I now too
write these late afternoon lines
At Sunset
In a Jerusalem garden
Where the light breeze
And green intermingle.

Back Where I Come From
In the town where I was raised
Clock ticks and the cattle graze
Time passed with amazing grace
Back where I come from.
You can lie on a riverbank
Paint your name on a water tank
Miss count all the beers you drank
Back where I come from.
Back where I come from,
Where Ill be when it is said and done,
Im proud as anyone thats where I come from.
We learned in a sunday school
Just who made the sun shine through
I know who made the moon shine too
Back where I come from
Blue eyes on a saturday night
Tan legs in the broad daylight
Tvs they were black and white
Back where I come from
Back where I come from,
Where Ill be when it is said and done,
Im proud as anyone thats where I come from.
Some say its a backwards place
Narrow minds on a narrow race
But I make it a point to say thats where I come from.
Thats where I come from,
Where Ill be when it is said and done,
Im proud as anyone thats where I come from.
Thats where I come from
Im an old tennesseean
I am as proud as any one thats where I come from
Back where I come from
Back where I come from
Back where I come from

I was close to John simply because I liked him as a person. He liked me as a person. We spent a lot of times at one another's houses back in Liverpool. We spent a lot of time together in Germany.
The most fatal illusion is the narrow point of view. Since life is growth and motion, a fixed point of view kills anybody who has one.

If You Can Not Complain
Can not complain, but it hurts...
Can not say, but I...
Can not show, but I do not care...
if you can not complain,
how ppl know it,
you hurts and pains,
if you can not say,
but a person guess, know about your feelings (pains) ...
if you can not show
how a person know it all your inside feelings. pain and suffer
if u do not care...
but a person care every time
every time wanna see you,
but it can not be enough
he wanna take to you,
when you sad and going on sadness
he can not understand about she's is life,
i am helpless, i can help
but it is the life.
it is my life, it my life

Deceived by a pretty face
Deceived by a pretty face
~
She talked so softly, almost sweet
With an air of sorrow in her voice
She looked on with a pretty face
And caught the eye and words
Of a passer by who stopped to believe
That a gentle soul lay in wait
And by being there he could help
Perhaps win her heart so he could protect
A feeling he at first did not concede
But grew to feel in the time he spent
Only such time he did not see
How a game was put to play
Soon his services were forgotten
His words cast aside without a care
Upset he quietly walked away
Realising he had been misled
Deceived by a pretty face

You know that a given in life in human nature, is that at a sporting event, a baseball game, a football game, you never introduce a politician, is because he'll be booed. I don't care if he's the most beloved person in the world, its part of the game.

I've been over what I'm supposed to say and I've got to tell you, it's pretty persuasive stuff, but is it the whole truth It's a slice of truth, a morsel, a fraction. It's a piece of the pie, certainly not the whole enchilada, and now that I've been thinking about it, I don't think I could tell the whole truth about anything. That's a pretty heavy burden, because we all just view the world through this little piece of coke bottle. Is there such a thing as objective truth I wonder.

Are you?
i'ved loved you all along,
I forgive you for all your mistakes,
But you just make even more,
I've needed to hear you say,
That you love me,
And you've loved me all along,
I need to hear you say,
That i'm precious to you,
Are you porud of who i am?
Are you proud of who i've become?
I need to know what you think of me,
I need to know what you're thinking,
Are you thinking about me?
I'm thinking about you,
Every night in my dreams,
Everyday in my thoughts,
Father pleasee let me know,
Are you proud of me?

Your wedding day arrives at last
No more thinking about the past
Look forward only from this day
For life is just a game to play
The game of life cannot be won
Only completed as a journey done
