If people are really excited about their music, and that's their primary motivation, then that comes through in demo tapes. That's the most important ingredient.

I Get So Excited
(ian hunter)
I hear a thousand drums a million miles away
I feel the wembley rock I get a buzz off a big parade
I get the music
Everywhere
Get off on the music
If this is the end there I dont care
I get so excited
So excited
Call me a fan thats just what I am
I said I i I i I get
So excited
So excited
My nerves are alive
I feel like a knife
I said I get so excited
I hear a choir singing way up above the sea
I feel the sound a-changing as the night rocks a spell on me

Everywhere
Get off on the music
If this is the end there I dont care I get

The real reason we ended up getting into that type of music was our dad worked for an oil company so we spent a year overseas when we were young kids. Because of that, it was all Spanish TV and radio so we ended up having these '50s and '60s tapes, tapes of that music.

Sweet Music
New sensation (3x)
Check out this groove and you're
Walkin' on air
Going into a new
Dimension, yeah
So put your vibes on my beat
And we'll lay it down like that
Slap the hi-hat in
Put the fairlight on the track
Ooh
And we can go
Crazy like that
Feelin' like that
Movin' like that
Drop it like that
Rockin' the track
I'm lookin for that new sensation
Woo hoo
I think we're on to somethin'
You're taste it mirrors mine
So high I'm in the moment
Let's make this demo right
I might just lose it
Woo hoo
When we make sweet music
Doesn't it bend the waves
that's in the air, yeah
Got samples and scratches
Let's do it, right here
Boys and girls.....a different kind of sound
'Cause every heartbeat babe
Is the soundtrack to your life, oh
And every man out there must be sent
To get me high
And we can go
Crazy like that
Feelin' like that
Movin' like that
Drop it like that
Rockin' the track
I'm lookin for that new sensation
Woo hoo
I think we're on to somethin'
You're taste it mirrors mine
So high I'm in the moment
Let's make this demo right
I might just lose it
Woo hoo
When we make sweet music
When we make sweet music
Oh yeah yeah yeah
When we make sweet music
Oh yeah yeah yeah
When we make sweet music
yeah yeah yeah
When we make sweet music
I think we're on to somethin'
Your taste it mirrors mine
So high I'm in the moment
Lets make this demo right

That moment was very important because it was political. That's what has to be done, so they struck a deal. She figures his is a well-thought-out motivation that she felt was worthy trade-off. The motivation here is survival, and she has to think like a leader.

I think a lot of times it's not money that's the primary motivation factor; it's the passion for your job and the professional and personal satisfaction that you get out of doing what you do that motivates you.

Motivation
Love isn’t any motivation
Wealth isn’t any motivation
Health isn’t any motivation
Create not more confusion
Inspiration and motivation is a pair
Imagination follows and is near
Near enough to make you desire
Near enough to make you crave instead of tire
Like the nutrients that enhance the growth of a plant
Motivation is the force from your self within
The invisible voice urging you to win
Motivation is when you make it routine
To implement actions to show you are keen

People want a cop-out, listen I'm a realist and I talk about motivation, talk about all the things it takes to be greater or are important to win and people want to use excuses all the time.

Excited
Excited
Mean to me is
Ready to get something
I been waiting for
Like my permit or CD/DVD/Phone
Excited
Is one thing
I don't keep
Doing because
It's go to turn into bad luck
Excited
On the other hand
When I want something so bad it can happen
All I have to do is be patient and
It can be a good thing
Excited
Can mean so much
Like getting this feeling
When you are with someone you love so much
You just can't stop feeling like that
Excited
Is expressed on my face of how I
Feel right now
I just want to let it out and
Be crazy
Excited

My first book is really about heat. That book, for me, was an exploration of heat as ingredient. Why we don't talk about heat as an ingredient, I don't quite understand, because it is the common ingredient to all cooking processes.

Bigtime Operators
Well, they told me to come on over
I made my way to new york
And they tried to have me deported
Stop me from getting work
Blacklisted me all over
They were vicious and they were mean
They were bigtime operators
Baby, on the music business scene
Oh, they looked like politicians
But underneath they were thugs
And they spread malicious rumours
Threatened to have me busted for drugs
They had nothing on me
Oh man, I was really clean
But they were bigtime operators
On the music business scene
They put a bug in my apartment
To listen in on my calls
I was looking for some motivation
I couldnt find any, any motivation at all
They were very desperate people
Riding in long black limousines
But they were bigtime operators
On the music business scene
They were glorified by the media
They were heroes who had names
They said that they would bury me
If I didnt play their game
They said I didnt know the score
And that I was young and green
They were bigame operators
On the music business scene
Tried to hold me to a phoney contract
I said I didnt agree
Had to get out of the clutches
Had to go underground you see
Now Im living in another country
But I know exactly just where Ive been
Stay away from bigtime operators
Baby, on the music business scene
Well, baby bigtime operators
On the music business scene
Oh baby, bigtime operators
On the music business scene
Well, full of names and places
Baby, you know who I mean
