Broken
You can close your eyes
And see a picture perfect life
Inside of your mind
Dreaming only of the days ahead
Wanted and wished for more than now
Or the days behind
You waste your time
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
You can never think
You cant even stop yourself
Before the words have been spoken
And youve already said
You would give everything
And something for nothing
Everybody thinks youre joking
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
You want to be the one
Made over be your own
Before and after
And a supermarket
Beauty in a bottle queen
Wholl one day grace a check-out counter
Magazine front cover
Though the fine print reads
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
Lets it be broken
Lets it be broken
Lets it be broken
Lets it be broken
Lets it be broken
Broken
Broken
When your life is never what you wanted
Not even halfway normal
Just tarnished and soiled
When in your reach
A framed and frozen moment
So far from perfection
Not truth or transcendence
Will set you free
Still you dont believe
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken
The picture makes a promise
The flesh lets it be broken

It's A Promise
When I get up in the morning and see first light
I remember it's a promise
When the sun begins to set with color
I remember it's a promise
When I stare up in the darkest night, and see brightest moonlight
I remember it's a promise
When a ray of light slices the clouds and it's pure
I remember it's a promise
When I see the majestic forest of green tree
I remember it's a promise
When I see the blue ocean
I remember it's a promise
When I see the sparkle of a star or the shining of the sun
I remember it's a promise
If I look into the stars and see a galaxy
I remember it's a promise
Somehow everything will be fine like the world around me
Because in everything there's a promise
And when a promise is bound by unfailing love
It can't be broken
That's a promise.

Chasin' the wind
A promise is….
Something fated to be broken
A wave upon the shore
Silence broken by burst balloon
Reverie rent by rap upon the door
A promise …so very hard to keep
A pledge… so wafer thin
A promise is…a due. but unpaid debt
While still kept…A yet uncommitted sin
And no matter how hard it tis to keep
Resolve slips thru’ cracks e’er so thin
As well as you might try
To keep from breaking a promise (for most)
You might just as well be…
chasing the wind

Dead And Broken
Too many things I've never spoken
I'm not feeling fine
I never told you what to do
I never made you a promise that you could hold me to
That'll be the day you see me crying
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
How many different faces can you show me?
How many times can you be right?
Another world of fantasy
Another reason for dramatizing everything
Taking it all in just one more time
I'm dying
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
Sorry to see that you're underestimated lately
I'd rather be dead and broken than living in your grace
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken

A True Love Token
a promise from a sincere
true heart cannot be broken
a promise made not meant
to keep should not be spoken
a promise of love eternal
enduring is a true love token

Face To Face
Anderson/squire/howe/white/sherwood/khoroshev
Here we are trying to mend all the broken hearts
In a world where the pain is the fear
Aint no doubt theres a method to madness here
Set your clock to the start of a brand new year
Shine your heart to the universe and get the news
Not alone never have been, never will be
See the truth, not to mention the promise made
See them all, see them all high on judar rhythm
We began at the very first spring
How the promise will come when the promise is made
We will sing at the very first spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
Promise is made, promise is made
Shake me up, take me up
Face to face
Lift me up, shake me up
Face to face
Make me real, make me longing to see you smile
Shall we dancing, shall we be the dancing down under
In this life of lives, are we ready to take the chance
Moving to the rhythm, here at last to
Believe
To believe
We began at the first real spring
How the promise will come when the promise is made
We will sing at the very first spring
That the promise will come when the promise is made
We began at the first real spring - ya
We will sing at the very first spring - ya
We began at the first real spring

Promise is made, promise is made

Broken
You're the air that I breathe
The sun when it breaks through the clouds
You're all that I need
But I know that you're having some doubts
Beggin' you please girl
I'm sorry I let you down
I'm broken like a promise
I'm shattered like a dream
I'm broken with all my pieces scattered 'round for you to see
I'm broken like record
I sing the same old song
I'm broken like the heart of a man that's run away from love too long
Girl what about you
What about you girl
It's so hard to speak
I can barely look you in the eye
It's so hard to breathe
I know I ain't afraid to die
Your breath is so sweet
Your kisses could get me high
My heart is so weak
But your loving could get me by
I'm broken like a promise
I'm shattered like a dream
I'm broken with all my pieces scattered 'round for you to see
I'm broken like record
I sing the same old song
I'm broken like the heart of a man that's run away from love too long
Girl what about you
What about you girl
I'm broken like a promise
I'm shattered like a dream
I'm broken with all my pieces scattered 'round for you to see
I'm broken like record
I sing the same old song

Strangers' Gallery
My beauty queen,
My sweet lover;
You told me that you will be my shelter!
But, you've now broken the promise.
Of an experimental satellite of love,
With the broad-ways of things to share;
But now you've broken the promise.
You are forever gone into the woods! !
With no trace to direct my ways;
For, you are now like the strangers' gallery.
What really went wrong with you? !
And like Estrads's trial adjourned;
With chiefs and no stooges,
But, try to present your virginity before your marriage.
To tore down your sexual desires!
But primitive to an ethical cell;
For, you told me that you will be my shelter! !
But, you've now broken the promise.
I am not a toy to be pulled about like a string!
So, do not burn your hands in this fire!
For, you are now gone forever into the woods;
And like the litany of naked instances in the land of trouble.

A Promise
A promise is actually meant to be kept.
Not be broken.
Why do you make me all these promises that you can't keep?
Don't promise me anything anymore
Because I'll feel like your always lieing to me,
By not keeping your promises.
You don't even try to keep your promises,
That's what gets me mad.
Does the word Promise mean anything to you?

Senator Hillary Clinton is attacking President Bush for breaking his campaign promise to cut carbon dioxide emissions, saying a promise made, a promise broken. And then out of habit, she demanded that Bush spend the night on the couch.

I Promise
I won't run away no more, I promise
Even when I get bored, I promise
Even when you lock me out, I promise
I say my prayers every night, I promise
I don't wish that I'm strict, I promise
The tantrums and the chilling chats, I promise
Even when the ship is wrecked, I promise
Tie me to the rotten deck, I promise
I won't fool around no more, I promise
Even when I get bored, I promise
Even when you lock me out, I promise
I say my prayers every night, I promise
I won't fool around no more, I promise

I Promise You
i would walk through the moon and the sun just to be with you i promise.
I promise to be there for you in all of your times of joy and sorrow.
I promise to climb the highest mountain and swim the deapest ocean for you alone.I promise to make a new memory with you each and every day with you.I Promise to cry a million tears and walk a million miles to be with you.I promise to live and care for you without change.I promise to do anything for you just to see the beauty of your ravishing smile.I promise to find a new way to see fires of passion burning.I would buy a thousand rose for you just to se you smile i promise.I promise to be the best dad to our children.I will laugh with you, i will fight with you, i will share the same breath with you i promise.I promise never to steal, lie, or cheat. But if i'll steal, i promise to steal away your sorrows. And if i'll lie, i promise to lie with you all thd nights of my life. And if i'll cheat, i promise to cheat your death, because i couldn't live a day without you.I promise you.

Say A Little Prayer
Mr. moonlight...shinebright
Show me my mr. right
Lights, camera, action
I wanna be his sole distraction
Cupid draw your bow
Shoot it nice and slow
Send it straight to his heart
Love dont let him go
You must let him know
This is love from the start
(chorus):
Say a little prayer
Say a little prayer for me tonight
Say a little prayer
Say a little prayer for my hear tonight
Mama always told me
(sometimes)
What you get is not what you see
Im not taking any chances
No more broken romances
Cupid draw your bow fetch
(chorus x2)
I promise to always love and care for him
And I promise...to do my very best for him
I promise...to cherish him for all of my life
I promise...to always love and care for him
And I promise...Ill always be there for him
I promise...to love him for the rest of my life
(chorus out).

Everything Is Broken
Broken lines, broken strings, broken threads, broken springs
Broken idols, broken heads, people sleeping in broken beds
Aint no use jivin, aint no use jokin
Everything is broken
Broken bottles, broken plates, broken switches, broken gates
Broken dishes, broken parts, streets are filled with broken hearts
Broken words never meant to be spoken
Everything is broken
Seems like every time you stop and turn around
Someone else has just hit the ground
Broken cutters, broken saws, broken buckles, broken laws
Broken bodies, broken bones, broken voices on broken phones
Take a deep breath, feel like youre chokin
Everything is broken
Every time you leave and go off some place
Things fall to pieces in my face
Broken hands on broken plows, broken treaties, broken vows
Broken pipes, broken tools, people bending broken rules
Hound dog howlin, bullfrog croakin
Everything is broken

The Promise
Promise me that you won't stop loving me.
No matter what the cost is.
Promise you won't runaway from me.
Just promise that you'll never make me cry.
Promise you won't die on me
And leave me alone in this cold world
Just promise me you'll be there.

You & A Promise
She was nervous, she was late
She left it up to fate
Stading at a phone
And she knows what she wants
And she came here to take it
How perfect it could be
You and me
And she met him at the door
"I don't want you anymore"
"Remember what you said?"
You and a promise...
You and a promise...
You...
Turned and he didn't wait
He walked right thru the gate
So gald to be alone
And he knows who to call
"I'll always be there for you,
call me anytime"
"I don't mean to offend,
the voice on the other end
is a stranger to me"
You and a promise...
You and a promise...
You...
And they say to themselves
And they say to themselves
How could I ever let this happen
You and a promise...
You and a promise...
You...
