If the September 11 terror attack is supposed to constitute a caesura in world history, it must be able to stand comparison to other events of world historical impact.

11th of September
Terror struck out of the blue
Why? No one knew
A second plane hit, it now became clear
America under attack, all full of fear
We lost many that day the 11th of September
But for all of the terror we must remember
Those lost giving hope, aide and salvation
Together we stand a proud and collective nation
For here we are free and freedom we defend
Men and women in service give all, some to the end
To make sure that the acts of the 11th of September
Are never repeated, no new day to remember.
May the souls lost on that fateful day, live in those left behind
The actions of all indelibly etched in our mind

Pictures can and do make a difference. Strong images of historical events do have an impact on society. They can help with change.

How should we deal with intrusions of fiction into life, now that we have seen the historical impact that this phenomenon can have? … Reflecting on these complex relationships between reader and story, fiction and life, can constitute a form of therapy against the sleep of reason, which generates monsters.

Polonius: The best actors in the world, either for tragedy, comedy, history, pastoral, pastoral-comical, historical-pastoral, tragical-historical, tragical-comical-historical-pastoral, scene individable, or poem unlimited. Seneca cannot be too heavy, nor Plautus too light. For the law of writ and the liberty, these are the only men.

History Maker
History maker World shaker it’s what I wanna be
Going places seeing faces making history
Stepping out not afraid coming up against the enemy
History maker world shaker that’s what I wanna be
Get up and go-there is trouble everywhere
Finding solutions to our problems is so very rare
No more talking cause all the talking’s done
History maker world shaker I already have begun
Stand up for right I am in a fight
Trying with all my might to free them from their plight
History maker world shaker that’s what I want to be
Helping people change, changing history
But I can’t do it alone I need someone
To help me do the job and get it done
Become a history maker starting here today
Be a world shaker follow me I will show the way

Six Months Past
September 11th is now six months past
And the events of that day will forever last
Sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago
When our safe little world we ceased to know
The flags are still flying, some weathered and worn
I hear of them cast aside, tattered and torn
But we are still fighting in that far distant land
And the reason for war, we now understand
How long it will last, we have no way of knowing
The battles that are fought, the number keeps growing
Yes, September 11th is now six months past
And the events of that day will forever last

We have gotten away from this double aspect of either putting the character back into historical events or of making a historical event of his very life.

When the venture has been made of dealing with historical events and characters, it always seems fair towards the reader to avow what liberties have been taken, and how much of the sketch is founded on history.

Since the events of September 11, we've rightfully changed our military strategy so we're now taking the fight to those individuals who aim to do us harm, rather than waiting for another atrocious attack to happen.

In a brave new world, a post-September 11 world, anyone is going to make certain mistakes. The mistakes that have been made on homeland security, on protecting our Nation from another terrorist attack, are mistakes of omission. We are simply not doing enough.

Authenticity
History is which says about events
As they are seen or heard.
Literature is which says about events
As they are desired or supposed.
Epics differ from histories.
Art is which depicts objects
As they are focused or projected.
An elephant drawn differs from it.
Authenticity in art and literature
Will not enhance their merit.
Romantic love entertains the mass
Rather than authenticity displayed.

I believe that historians and analysts of historical events need the authority of facts supplied by living witnesses to the events, which they make their subject.

Together we shall stand
When the conditions go wrong
when there are no jingles of a song
when the world loses its melody
when there is nothing but the tragedy
Together we shall stand
When the flowers lose their fragrance
when the peacock forgets the merry dance
when the sunlight is clogged by the cloud
when the shrieks of pain and terror are loud
Together we shall stand
Together we shall stand
and find the desired path
which leads us to the serene land
leaving behind the abhorrence and the wrath
Together we shall stand
till you trust me
and I trust you
we’ll create a world of new
Just put your hand on my hand
together shall we stand
together shall we stand
Till the eternal days ahead…………

Force Fed Life!
Nothing of my purpose did I find....
my heart,
always kind.
Bitterness has been consumed,
like a broken record,
the game through and through....
I let people play their roles,
knowing the game,
My perspective,
never the same!
the part that I hate is clear to see,
it's just the choices I make for me.
I know my worth,
I've lived my life,
to me...
I was a perfect wife,
after all the 'you are supposed too's'
I find that I'm not sure what I'm gonna do: (
Life to me is attack, attack, attack,
like a leach on my back....
I think beyond my unemotional brain,
somehow...
life it wants to train.
My daughter says a prayer that touches my heart....
she will never know my world is falling apart! ! ! !

Perhaps September 11 could be called the first historic world event in the strictest sense: the impact, the explosion, the slow collapse - a gruesome reality literally took place in front of a global public.

One World One Family
let us enter
in a new world
a world
of no boundaries
a world
of no walls
a world
of no terror
a world
of no poverty
a world
of no weapons
one world
of one family
no countries
no politicians
no wars
just imagine
a paradise
let us awake
contribute
your self
for a
new world
of oneness
today you imagine
tomorrow you do
one by one
global awakening happens
one world
one family
happens one day

The Skies Fell Silent
Written in memory of all those who perished in the 9/11 terror attacks.
Ten years have passed
since a day of infamy
that shook the world
and the skies fell silent.
It was a day the world mourned
and a war against terror began.
However, for weeks after
the skies fell silent,
not only of planes,
but birds as well.
It was as if nature
was paying its respects
for those who perished as well.
It was not until the planes flew again
did we see birds again in the sky.
9 September 2011
Author’s Note:
My late brother brought the lack of birds to my attention. He made me search the skies for them and I did not see any. I have no explanation for the phenomena only that it happened.

The World Trade Centre Doesn't Exist Anymore
Two-thousand and one. Eleventh of September.
A day we will always remember
When the world watched a city go ablaze;
Two tall towers were what caught the people's gaze.
Planes had flown and crashed like a missile,
With tragic consequences proving absolutely vile.
Every person left stunned, many with tearful eyes,
Not very common under pleasant blue skies.
The Pentagon next, and then followed by a field;
Shame the innocent passengers had no shield
To save themselves from their fiery end.
Man had witnessed evil like never before,
And one to take responsibility was Osama Bin Laden,
Laying back and not participating - the coward,
Possibly laughing at those who wallow and sadden.
It was a terrorist attack, one never seen before;
Who knows what else Al-Qaeda have in store?
A brutally callous attack claiming the lives
Of nearly three-thousand and two,
Including Brian Dale, Mike Cahill,
Dong Lee, and Todd Beamer, too.
We will not forget those who were victimised
For such history is always memorised.
New York City is not the same as it was before
Because, as all broken-hearted people know,
The World Trade Centre doesn't exist anymore.
