I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do.

Trust Like A Tree

From tiny seed to tall giant
Firmly rooted in one place
Trusting God will provide
Sun, rain, ample space

If man dare learn from trees
Feet rooted in a single space
Trusting God shall provide
Man ‘n Earth could interface

Angels’ negotiate lasting peace
Where once was strife ‘n war
Satan’s grip would then release
God Within supreme once more

The next time you see a noble tree
Offer grateful words unashamedly

As the Pine Cypress tree would say

I want to be like the Cassia tree-
The Cassia tree by the river side
I want to be like the Cassia tree
firmly rooted in the soil inside
so when the winds play its tune of tempest
I will sway left and right as it would have me sway
Sway and not break or lose a footing
as the pine cypress tree would say

I want to be like the Cassia tree-
The Cassia tree by the riverside
I want to be like the Cassia tree
firmly rooted in the soil inside
so when the clouds gather and dress the sky in
dark clothing, for the ritual of the rain
I will stand its pour to the rage of the thunder
Stand and not break or lose a footing
as the pine cypress tree would say

Marlene Dietrich

To be completely woman you need a master, and in him a compass for your life. You need a man you can look up to and respect. If you dethrone him it's no wonder that you are discontented, and discontented women are not loved for long.

A Tree Tested For Its Roots

at first the wind blows
with cruelty
uprooting all the root of
your being
but this is only at first
you are but
a tree tested
for how long you can
continue
being attached to the
earth
the wind makes it sure
that you know
what attachment is
the meaning of being
rooted

after the uprooting
when all your leaves are taken away
when you are but all hands
with nothing to grip

then the wind begins to show
its true nature

it is lovely
fresh and pure

A Tree in a Field

There once was a tree,
A tree alone in a field.
And as that tree grew
It got bigger than all 'round.
And people would often stop
Just to look at that tree,
That tree in a field.
Till one day one person,
Went and cut down that tree,
That tree in a field.
And you know what?
That tree learned one thing
Don't stand too tall too fast,
Or someone just might
Cut you down.

Light Travelers

Not the first to travel light
When things move just too fast
Home is where I collapse at the end of the day
Too tired to go further.
Stayin' light enough to travel
Suitcase in the trunk,
Looking for a few hours haven
Until my eyelids get to heavy...
How much there is that isn't right
About this need to travel light

On Tree

Just a plain old TREE. I Ignored the weather
satisfied with me. I Looked at TREE.

What if anything do I knoe about TREE.
It used to be a thing made out of wood, always tall,

with branches near the ground. Roots fingering the ground.
Life comes up somehow to TREE. Water cascades down to ground, seeping slowly into ROOT. ROOT transmogrifies

the water into inner sanctum stuff known only to the Lord.
People still tell me, Tree just cannot live.

There is no real feeling in TREE.
There is knowledge in TREE or it would be a blade of grass.

People say the life is in the seed or sapiling.
I think the knowledge is in the MAN, the ONE who can.

He Makes all the TREE begin, upon a distant planet,
Creates the thing again, in the courtyard of his KING.

And every meadow of his earth.
The ONE who gave me birthe the second time around.

The ONE who gave me TREE.
And Time to write this down.

Get A Grip

I see it on the tv, its playing on my mind,
Everything I see has got something to do with killing my brother.
Just another mind game? or maybe its a sign,
When the child with a gun holds it up to the head of his brother.
Well that aint nice. gotta get a grip, gotta get a hold on life,
Gotta get a grip cause youre gonna slip, yeah.
Somebody tell me, where did we lose?
Wheres the point that we lost the control to live with each other?
Mister politician, searching for a lie.
Whats the truth? will the youth find the proof for a revolution?
Cause that aint nice, gotta get a grip, gotta get a hold on life
Gotta get a grip cause youre gonna slip, on ice,
Gotta get a grip, gotta get a hold on life
Gotta get a grip cause youre gonna slip
Gotta get a hold of the situation, gotta get you into my life,
Gotta get a hold and get it moving.
I cant tell you what you need to know its up to you, oh yeah
That aint nice, gotta get a grip, gotta get a hold on life
Gotta get a grip, cause youre gonna slip, on ice,
Gotta get a grip, gotta get a hold on life
Gotta get a grip cause youre gonna slip.
Gotta get a hold of the situation, gotta get a hold on life,
Gotta get a grip and get it moving,
I cant tell you what you need to know, its up to you, oh yeah.
Dont your blood run cold, dont the sorrow show,
Hold on tight to what you have.
See it in your eyes, dont it make you cry,
Get a grip and shake the can.
Get a grip, yeah, get a grip, yeah, get a grip, yeah,
Get a grip, get a grip, get a grip, get a grip, get a hold.
Get a grip on life, get a grip on life, get a grip on life,
Yeah get a grip.

Got My Feet On The Ground

I wanna lot out of life, but I know my limitations
Guess I want a lot of things and got my inclinations
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Ive learned a lot out of life, watchin other folks mistakes
Funny things that they can get for finding out too late
I got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Well I dont need nobody else
All I needs a single ticket
When I travel on my own
Not afraid to be alone
I got my feet upon the ground, and Im standing on my own
When I travel far and wide
And looking for a four leaf clover
Dont mind if I cant find it, got no chip upon my shoulder
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
Well I dont need nobody else
All I needs a single ticket
When I travel on my own
Not afraid to be alone
I got my feet upon the ground, and Im standing on my own
When I travel far and wide
And looking for a four leaf clover
Dont mind if I cant find it, got no chip upon my shoulder
Got my feet on the ground, and Im standing on my own
I dont need no one
I dont need no one
(repeat)

The Silence That Is Still Raw

from a tree rooted to
discontent
the silence is still raw
another season of cold
is needed
to make it ripe
make all those leaves turn yellow
and then that silence simply
falls to the ground
like all those leaves
rot and
become forgotten

The computer tree- algorithm (Sextuple Crystalline Poetry)

A free tree is never rooted
Infinite complete binary tree

A finger tree has internal nodes
Each one in this tree has child nodes

And their connection is a walk
Parents and children walking the tree

Nodes without children are called leaves
While roots are leaves for the finger trees

Very intelligent words tree
Trees-no one-to-one correspondence

Adaptive merging operation
Implementing finger searching trees.

A Christmas Tree! A Christmas Tree!

A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
With dark green needled memories
Of childhood dreams and mysteries
Wrapped present-like in front of me.

A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
I glimpse a past wherein i see
The child that then grew into me
Not forward fast but haltingly.

A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
A time for being with family
A time that's gone so fleetingly
Yet lives for always deep in me.

A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
When twelfth night comes whole hauntingly
One lingered look and then i see
No Christmas tree where it would be.

A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
With feelings now felt longingly
No corner in my house to see
The magic of that Christmas tree.

Killing Trees

Ev'rytime I write, my pen chops a tree,
Hacking it down with an ink-blotted blade.
I see it bleed in black as my thoughts seize
My hand and slice into the bark and shade.
I split the tree of its epidermis,
Shaving the skin off to maybe reveal
All the growth rings and perhaps their purpose—
Though I scar its stem where it cannot heal.
I take the flayed peelings and uncover
The tree's inner feelings the more I press.
Further I go, further I discover
I can cut through all deep-rooted distress
Because I am the tree, tall and sturdy,
And I will fall by my saw when ready.

Marvellous Travel

I travel with my eyes,
Watching those silently cry,
Asking themselves the question why,
Someone left them without saying goodbye;

I travel with my thoughts,
I travel with my pen;
To write about children, women and men;

I travel with my voice,
I travel with my hope,
That something new, would spring into my horoscope,
Whether in Asia, America or Europe,
There'll always be something interesting to scope;

I travel to many different places,
Mix with many races,
Identify tribesmen by their faces,
And little girls by their laces,

I travel without money,
So, please listen to my testimony,
The good, the bad and even the ugly,
Every experience is worth life's journey,

For I'll always be marvelled,
When ever I travel.

Rotting

rotting core of the hollow tree
it twists and creeks
an owl hoots never ending
an icy blast hits the fragile tree
it creeks within its core
the tree snaps in half a big thud when it hits the icy ground
never more to the tree
the icy grave it rots into the ground
forever more

Gotta Get A Grip On You

(r palmer/ a powell)
I can't tell temptation from chance
You are gonna have to lead me a dance
You are stepping so treacherously
It makes me wonder why it's gettin' to me
Gotta get a grip on you, gotta get a grip on you girl
I can't tell patience from fear
You are gonna have to take it from here
I like the way you carry on
It makes me want to sing this song
Gotta get a grip on you, gotta get a grip on you girl
Gotta get a grip on you
Gotta get a grip on you,
Gotta get a grip on you
Gotta get a grip on you
You know i can't tell temptation from chance
You are gonna have to lead me a dance
You are stepping so treacherously
It makes me wonder why it's gettin' to me
Gotta get a grip on you, gotta get a grip on you girl
Gotta get a grip on you, gotta get a grip on you girl
Come to grips with you
Gotta get a grip on you,
Come to grips with you
Gotta get a grip on you
Come to grips with you
