I was a complete loon, but I don't regret a bit of it.

Ringneck Loon
Hear the call of the ringneck loon
Hear the sound he will be home soon
Hear the cry in the afternoon
Ringneck loon, he knows best
Hes a loon and he dont care less
Ringneck loon, away off shore
How could anybody ask for more
Hear the call of the ringneck loon
Hear the sound he will be home soon
Hear the cry in the afternoon
Ringneck loon, he cant rest
Hes a loon and he dont care less
Ringneck loon around the bend
Been a loon since he dont know when
Hear the call of the ringneck loon
City life is what I see
City life is the life for me
Ringneck loon, he knows best
Hes a loon and he dont care less
Hear the cry of the ringneck loon
Hear the sound he will be home soon
Hear the cry in the afternoon
Ringneck loon, you cant rest
Youre a loonie and you dont care less
Ringneck loon my old friend
Been a loon since he dont know when
Hear the cry of the ringneck loon
Hear the sound he will be home soon
Hear the cry in the afternoon

Regret's A Cold Companion
Regret's no consolation
For things no longer near
Regret's no panacea
For problems that were clear
Regret's a backward looking
For things that were to last
For hopes that were to happen
Now firm stuck in the past
Regret's a cold companion
Regret's a dulling force
Regret finds its own dominion
In that process called divorce.

There's no regret. You can't regret. I mean, I've felt regret but I've also refused to allow regret to sow a seed and live in me because I don't believe it. You feel it, it's like guilt, it's like jealousy, it's like all those horrible things. You've just got to snip them and get them out, because they're no good.
Too young, too late
A quiet lake beneath the moon
reflects the starry firmament.
The silence broken by a loon
bemoaning his predicament
A lonely loon who lacks a mate.
Announcing he’s available
Please answer before it’s too late
his isolation palpable.
Then once again silence descends.
Frustrated he gets no reply
the mating seasons nears its end.
Perhaps next year he’ll find a mate
but until then he’ll have to wait.

Regrets
I regret those hurtful words
And every meaningless threat
That was made
I regret walking away angry
When we both
Should have stayed
I regret our lack of effort
We should have worked our problems through
But the biggest regret of all?
Is not expressing
Just how much I love you

TheTeacherCome
The men gathered around the teacher come each one thronged and bowed they all had grey hair everywhere the eye could see they held out bowls of wooden hidden insides full of seaming things to eat. Perhaps the fireplace was inside one of the huts perhaps the food was only cold just fruit and nuts. The Teacher sighed then began to speak as each man placed his bowl at teachers feet. He pointed all around the village there here and everywhere until alarmed the men begin to quiver and beware until the Teacher cried out loud “How can eye make them understand to make a sign to make them understand the day time.” He tried his watch. He held up a calendar with all the days of months he even pantomimed the passing of time he tried the whistle of the loon to signal dark; then his eyes light up at something he just thought and so he drew there in the sand seven circles then one more there then starting over with his pidgeon speaching he tried to reach the men again with teaching. Day Day Day Day Day Day Day Day he said this eight times once for each circle pointing to make his point across the men in the glen between the huts were nodding understanding. They understood the teacher. He pointed at the first circle again and just said TODAY and got all excited when they nodded yes they were absorbing all the words then he said day to all the others but the last circle he called NEXT WEEK in a loud loon like voice. There was a hush and then the Spokesman for the tribe said to him in perfect English TIME. The teacher froze. For every aborigine had pulled a watch out from the leather thong and one of them cried out in perfect English as the Spokesman had thus done why that is April Twenty Ninth. The aborigine men all begin to dance now like the loon from side to side they all begin to eat the contents of the bowls at teachers feet the bowls of wisdom which contain the portions of the last teacher come to entertain who also tried to teach them time. For the aborigines were cannibals educated with intelligence complete with watches from the arms they used for cooking meat in pots from bowls they grab the portions out filled with teachers time and time again they come to teach them men the time in land of loon the teacher come?

This Does Them In
So sad are they with minds limited.
They had paid to obtain an intelligence...
But leave schools degreed,
Without one hint...
Of how to apply common sense.
And they seek employment...
With resumés that say they qualify!
But not a thought connects,
That proves a thinking process.
Although they are selected.
Because of their hair...
And the color of their eyes.
And salaried they are...
To expose their incompetence...
That eventually represents,
A complete ineptness.
But that does not prevent,
A promotion based only...
On their attractiveness!
And they are placed in positions,
To discourage those who are far more brilliant!
Why?
To protect a host of insecurities.
As they try to thrive on greed...
As a bleeding economy dies.
Without an implementation,
Of an embracing did...
With a true diversification done!
And this does them in,
In the end!
Human resources neglected,
Does not lead to one's success.
Regret is what one frets.
Regret is what is left and met.
Regret is what reflects the mess.

I need thee...
Like the air I need to breath
The water that flows to meet the sea
I need thee
You complete me
Like the blood in my veins
And the Power of Christ's blood stains
I need thee
You complete me
Like the energy from the sun
The Cheetah's need to run
I need thee
You complete me
I have walked a thousand miles
Seen countless un-genuine smiles
I need thee
You complete me
I have heard so many lies
And created my own alibis
I need thee
You complete me
I have hidden from desperate eyes
Comforted by my lonely lullabies
I need thee
You complete me...

Don't Make Me
Don't make me angry,
Don't make me sad.
You'll regret,
Doing it.
Don't make me bad,
Don't make me afraid,
You'll regret,
Doing it.
Don't make me nice,
Don't make me good,
You'llk regret,
Doing it.
Don't make me happy,
Don't make me laugh,
You'll regret,
Doing it.
Don't make me learn,
Don't make me run.
You'll regret,
Doing it.
Don't make me mad,
Don't make me aggrevated,
Or I'll,
Kill you...

Seaward to____
HOW long it seems since that mild April night,
When, leaning from the window, you and I
Heard, clearly ringing from the shadowy bight,
The loon’s unearthly cry!
Southwest the wind blew, million little waves
Ran rippling round the point in mellow tune,
But mournful, like the voice of one who raves,
That laughter of the loon!
We called to him, while blindly through the haze
Uprose the meagre moon behind us, slow,
So dim, the fleet of boats we scarce could trace,
Moored lightly just below.
We called, and, lo, he answered! Half in fear
We sent the note back. Echoing rock and bay
Made melancholy music far and near;
Sadly it died away.
That schooner, you remember? Flying ghost!
Her canvas catching every wandering beam,
Aerial, noiseless, past the glimmering coast
She glided like a dream.
Would we were leaning from your window now,
Together calling to the eerie loon,
The fresh wind blowing care from either brow,
This sumptuous night of June!
So many sighs load this sweet inland air,
’T is hard to breathe, nor can we find relief:
However lightly touched, we all must share
This nobleness of grief.
But sighs are spent before they reach your ear;
Vaguely they mingle with the water’s rune;
No sadder sound salutes you than the clear,
Wild laughter of the loon.

The Sea Hold
THE SEA is large.
The sea hold on a leg of land in the Chesapeake hugs an early sunset and a last morning star over the oyster beds and the late clam boats of lonely men.
Five white houses on a half-mile strip of land... five white dice rolled from a tube.
Not so long ago... the sea was large...
And to-day the sea has lost nothing... it keeps all.
I am a loon about the sea.
I make so many sea songs, I cry so many sea cries, I forget so many sea songs and sea cries.
I am a loon about the sea.
So are five men I had a fish fry with once in a tar-paper shack trembling in a sand storm.
The sea knows more about them than they know themselves.
They know only how the sea hugs and will not let go.
The sea is large.
The sea must know more than any of us.

The framework I found, which made the decision [to start Amazon in 1994] incredibly easy, was what I called a regret minimization framework. I wanted to project myself forward to age 80 and say, 'OK, I'm looking back on my life. I want to minimize the number of regrets I have.' And I knew that when I was 80, I was not going to regret having tried this. I was not going to regret trying to participate in this thing called the Internet that I thought was going to be a really big deal. I knew that if I failed, I wouldn't regret that. But I knew the one thing I might regret is not ever having tried. I knew that that would haunt me every day.

Black can be hidden by white
You have no regret that you are bulky
If you learn to walk with grace
As does an elephant with its thighs.
You have no regret that you are flat on chest
If you learn to dart like a rabbit,
Which charms by its move, chest unseen.
You have no regret that you are dark
If you chat in singing voice
Of a Koel, whose dark drops to us.
You have no regret that you are dull
If you are useful to your master
Like an ass, who toils are limitless..
If the portrait is good,
the frame from sight is shed.

Rage And Then Regret
Was it rage or regret
Or the love I was feeling
In this age - who's perfect... are you?
Wasn't made to forget
This moment worth stealing
Was it rage or regret or the two
Every morning when I wake up
Wake up dreaming then... wake up dreaming
Build a temple from you fragrance
Build a chapel in your heart
Do you really understand
Do you feel the need to try
Do you even care for me
Do you ever wonder why
Rage and then regret
'Bout as real as real can get
Rage and then regret
Through the violence the angry silence
Does our love grow strong or die
A parachute or a pilot's licence
Do we fall in love or fly
Do you really understand
Do you feel the need to try
Do you even care for me
Do you ever wonder why
Rage and then regret
'Bout as real as real can get
Rage and then regret
The harder we come
The harder we fall
The harder it is to stand tall
The more that we fight
The more that we brawl
The more we're alike - that's all... that's all
Rage and then regret
'Bout as real as real can get
Rage and then regret
Rage and then regret
'Bout as real as real can get
There are things you don't forget
Anger cools to idle threats

I have purpose
I have purpose
I will face the road ahead
It’s my chance
I don’t have time to worry
I have a purpose
I will not express regret
If I go back now
Everything I do will be useless
I have a purpose
There’s schedule I must complete
My head is clear
I will not stop before I reach

Shape Of Year
Reflections of a year gone by
An exhausting march
Of tiring times..
A period of instruction, knowledge so acquired
Mental anguish, no desire
Results I have no hand to cease
Relinquish to the powers that be..
Complete sorrow, complete joy
Complete balance seals the soul.

How Many Miles More?
how many miles more
shall i walk, to make myself complete?
how many oceans shall i sail
to make myself a man complete?
how many skies more to fly?
how many planets more
to step upon?
how many black holes more
to explore?
how many deaths?
how many unknowns to solve
to make this journey complete?
i do not really know.
