Making a film that's supposed to be fun to watch is really hard - that's the weird irony of it.

I'm a big movie fan. After a show, if I'm on the bus or a plane, it's often hard to get to sleep, so I'll watch a film. An action film can even relax me.

You Weren't Supposed to Go
You weren't,
supposed to go...
You were supposed to stay,
and watch mom's new baby grow.
To watch,
your grandchildren graduate...
To counsel us,
when everything goes wrong on a date.
To cheer us on,
through school...
To talk to us,
when our tempers need cooled.
To watch us,
get married...
To see your first great grandchild,
and hold it lovingly.
To make sure we don't stray,
from the right path...
To help us keep,
up with our math.
It wasn't suppposed,
to be this way...
You were supposed to be here,
for all these events and God took you away.
We will still envision you,
sitting there watching...
tears of joy in your eyes, a smile on your face,
your memory forever remaining.

Real art is without irony. Irony distances the author from his material. Irony is a product of something. It's not the reason for doing something. Irony is a cheap shot.

Ultimately, it has been a struggle- but I was in Minneapolis and Austin a couple of weeks ago, sitting in theaters with complete strangers watching this weird movie that Kirk and I thought up and I was excited to be making film.

I used to think that anyone doing anything weird was weird. I suddenly realized that anyone doing anything weird wasn't weird at all and it was the people saying they were weird that were weird.

One of the hardest parts of my job is when I leave. You’re so involved in the film making. And then when the acting is done, the film making continues, but I’m no longer a part of that. And you never know what they’re going to do with you!

Due to the political nature of film, partisan film making, especially where the subject is close to the film makers hart, tend to be the norm, rather than the exception.

But in film you always watch situations or stories that you really have no relation to. A lot of times just because there's no personal connection doesn't mean you can't connect with the film or the characters in the film.

The thing about film-making is I give it everything, that's why I work so hard. I always tell young actors to take charge. It's not that hard. Sign your own cheques, be responsible.

Mother Of Violence
Walking the street with her naked feet
So full of rhythm but I cant find the beat
Snapping her heels clicking her toes
Everybody knows just where she goes
Fear, fear -- shes the mother of violence
Making me tense to watch the way she breed
Fear, shes the mother of violence
You know self-defense is all you need
Its getting hard to breathe
Its getting so hard to believe
To believe in anything at all
Mouth all dry eyes blood shot
Data stored in microdot
Kicking the cloud with my moccasin shoes
T.v. dinner, t.v. news
Fear, fear -- shes the mother of violence
Dont make any sense to watch the way she breed
Fear, shes the mother of violence
Making me tense to watch the way she feed
The only way you know shes there
Is the subtle flavour in the air
Getting hard to breathe
Hard to believe in anything at all
But fear

Hey, Wait A Minute
Hey, wait a minute something just aint right hey, wait a minute
Somethings just not fair
I was supposed to win the lottery
Im supposed to be a millionaire
Im supposed to be a worldwide tourist
With lots of equity and life insurance
Yes Im supposed to be a gold card member
Rubbin elbows with the big time spenders
Im supposed to be a wealthy man
But all Ive got are blistered hands
Hey, wait a minute!
Hey, wait a minute
Theres got to be a better way
Im workin twice as hard but gettin no richer
Than I was yesterday
Im supposed to drive a big mercedes
Live in a mansion full of naked ladies
Im supposed to own my own casino
Be a superstar like sammy, frank and dino
Some day Im gonna be a big success
And tell my boss to kiss my ass
Hey, wait a minute
Something must be wrong
Im supposed to be dining on caviar
And drinking dom perignon
Yes Im supposed to have open invitations
To classy country clubs all across the nation
Yes Im supposed to have jewelry and diamonds
And a fifty foot yacht I can sail around the islands
Im supposed to be so carefree
But all Ive got is misery
Hey, wait a minute
Somethings just not right

A Natural Reaction
A reprobate? Who, me?
What's up with that?
Don't ask me to cozy up
and be your pal, please!
If I wanted, I could wreak
havoc on the whole crew!
By the way, can you define
irony for me?
Yes, I said irony!
I don't think you understand
the uses of irony, do you?

Weird
I like the way you never sleep
And the promises you never keep
I like the way you say hello
And make it sound like time to go
I like the scar above your lip
The way you let your feelings slip
But they are never what you feel
Oh so fake but completely real
Dont you think its weird
Weirder then weird
Thats what you are
Thats what you are to be
What I like about you
Is what you like about me
Dont you think its weird
I like the rules that multiply
And make the good things
Pass you by
Standing here without a plan
Thats why your such a happy man
Dont you think its weird
Weirder then weird
Thats what you are
Thats what you are to be
What I like about you
Is what you like about me
Dont you think its 1,2
I wanna make some changes
I want my money back
I wanna start up with you
I wanna talk to strangers
I wanna be with you
But I just dont know
Where or When
Thats what you are
Thats what you are to be
What I like about you
Is what you like about me
Dont you think its weird
Weirder then weird
Thats what you are
Thats what you are to be
What I like about you
Is what you like about me
Dont you think its weird

Console game publishing has become more like theatrical release film-making and it is very hard if you are not one of the major publishers, and even for them it is hard unless they are working with major game brands.
