Know what the old masters did. Know how they composed their pictures, but do not fall into the conventions they established. These conventions were right for them, and they are wonderful. They made their language. You make yours. All the past can help you.

Let's give the conventions back to the politicians. If we think there's any news, we can tack it on afterward as commentary. But the conventions should be their show, not ours.

Conventions! !
I hate conventions!
I do hate conventions! !
Caged is creativity..
Irate becomes innovativity..
I hate conventions!
It's exasperating
It's frustrating
Rust-enhancing
Talent-annihilat ing
I hate it...
revolving around Black-Hole 'standards'
I hate it...
causes discrimination of being 'avant-garde'
Art is for expression
For thought-emanation
For beautiful imagination
Nothing is hideous in field of art
all unify, blend and makes...
Jigsaw puzzle's missing part!

A Poem For A. M.
i know of a guy
who hates pictures
he does not own
a camera despite
his money
a fact that he lost most
of them
in anything
except pictures
by social conventions
as he is in this
circle
somehow he cannot escape
pictures taken
but he would see to it
that his body is covered
his face behind
the rest of the other
happy faces because
no matter how he
tries to expand the size
of his smile
his sadness still invades his
eyes like
a skin disease
without cure
i tell him once about this
noticeable phenomenon
and he breaks into tears
like a mad woman
put inside bars
there is this fear
this certain sadness that
stays within
somehow we are able to hide it
as strangers knowing how to conceal their names
on ships which are about
to face the storm

The essence of independence has been to think and act according to standards from within, not without. Inevitably anyone with an independent mind must become "one who resists or opposes authority or established conventions": a rebel. If enough people come to agree with, and follow, the Rebel, we now have a Devil. Until, of course, still more people agree. And then, finally, we have --- Greatness.

Obliging
I am here to obey
Your law and the conventions
Made by you.
I am noway related
To bulls and to bears
And their ancillaries.
I am here with you
Always alltimes
I am oblige you.

Mystery writers' conventions are usually good, and this one has been excellent and extremely well prepared and thought out in advance. A lot of people have given their time and their skill, and a good deal of wit, and Anchorage has made us extraordinarily welcome.
