People have tremendous power, more than the average person understands, and certainly more than even I understood before I came to Congress. When any of my constituents writes me a letter, I promise you, we're listening.

Power To The People
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Say you want a revolution
We better get on right away
Well you get on your feet
And out on the street
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
A million workers working for nothing
You better give em what they really own
We got to put you down
When we come into town
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
I gotta ask you comrades and brothers
How do you treat you own woman back home
She got to be herself
So she can free herself
Singing power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Now, now, now, now
Oh well, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Yeah, power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people
Power to the people, right on

The provision of the Constitution giving the war-making power to Congress was dictated, as I understand it, by the following reasons. Kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object. This, our Convention understood to be the most oppressive of all Kingly oppressions; and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us.

Miss Understood
Now that I'm a woman
I'm always dreaming of romance
I'm always dreaming about the perfect man
Who'd take me in his arms and understand, understand me
My name is Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands me?
He picked me up at midnight (Oh)
When all the town was fast asleep
We danced 4 the man in the moon above
Understanding's cheap when U fall in love, fall in love
Just call me Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands me?
I want a lover that can satisfy the hunger of my lonely heart
Gotta have a lover with a PhD in undercover art
Now that I'm a woman
I'm always looking 4 romance (Romance)
I'm always looking 4 the perfect man
Who'd take me in his arms and understand, understand me
Just call me Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands...
Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands...
Miss (Miss, Miss) Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood

Reflections 101
he writes not because
he wants to be read and
be understood
got him wrong really
he writes because he likes
to live
life writes upon himself
and so he writes upon life too.

Sympathies For the President
The problem plaguing Barack Obama
any political candidate, anyone preaching need for change
the need for change, the will for progress,
Is chiefly individual
all beings most strive from within,
seeking compassionate solutions
to those problems keeping any being
from getting their basic needs met.
Sad but the president always goes grey
growing old, thinning out,
wearing the mask of desperation, while in office.
A single man given too much range
expectations idealization polarization division
when is the president ever more than money's puppet
or a nations scapegoat?
Beyond congress, constituents must come together
set aside divisive ideologies, act out of cooperation and compassion,
beyond big government spending its up to citizens and corporations alike,
acting as equals to insure the basic needs of every being are being met
Anyone man trying to convince such a large of number on constituents
something that begins from within stands powerless
President's seem always best to represent, a country's great unrealized potential,
integrity, positive influences informing decision making,
the president shed's one positive light, as a person always has the potential
to act heroically, woman or man, when race and religion are set aside,
everyone has the power to be a hero.

To Be Understood
Nothing believed comes,
If one should run from it.
And...
Nothing believed comes,
If one is stunned by it.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who become offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
Observe and listen with a sitting,
Not too many do.
Too many are quick with their lips,
And...
Prove they are rude.
To then to accuse,
Someone to be abusive.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who become offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
And wounds are never mended.
With a healing recommended...
'Cause...
People wish to brood as they choose.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who are offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
But they aren't listening,
As they could and they should.
No they're not listening as they should and they could.
And if they listen they would be understood.
No they don't listen to,
Be understood.
No they don't listen like they could and should.

We are all representatives of the American people. We all do town hall meetings. We all talk to our constituents. And I've got to tell you, the American people are engaged. And if you think they want a government takeover of health care, I would respectfully submit you're not listening to them.
The United States cannot feed every person, lift every person out of poverty, cure every disease, or stop every conflict. But our power and status have conferred upon us a tremendous responsibility to humanity.

Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation, whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so, whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such purpose, and you allow him to make war at pleasure. Study to see if you can fix any limit to his power in this respect, after having given him so much as you propose. If, to-day, he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada, to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him? You may say to him, "I see no probability of the British invading us" but he will say to you, "Be silent; I see it, if
you don't." The provision of the Constitution giving the war making power to Congress was dictated, as I understand it, by the following reasons. Kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object. Understood
Never understood
Always judge
no one to understand me
why do I put up
with this I hate
life and everyone in it
looking for someone
to finally understand me
It seems like no one
dose people say they do
but they really don't
then someone called me
right before suicide
right at the perfect moment
She asked what I was doing
I said suicide
She says if you do it
at least tell me why
Because no one understands me
Ok I see I always thought
you were the only one that understands
me so if you die I will
die inside like you did
a horrible feeling
to feel empty inside
Why don't you help me
out of it then

Shes My Best Friend
Shes my best friend
Certainly not the average girl
Shes my best friend
Understands me when Im fallin down, down, down
Oh it hurts to be that way
Down, down, down
Oh it hurts to know
That that kind of fellah is a newspaper joe
Dropped his teeth on the floor
Caught his hand in the door
Guess thats the way that things go
If you want to see me
Sorry but Im not around
If you want to be me
Turn around Im by the window where the light is
Shes my best friend
Better than a dog or car
Shes my best friend
Understands me when Im fallin down, down, down
Oh it hurts to be that way
Down, down, down
Oh it hurts to know that that kinda fellah
Is a mulberry jane
She made jam when she came
Somebody cut off her feet
Now the jelly rolls in the street
If you want to see me
Sorry but Im not around
If you want to be me
Turn around Im by the window where the light is
Shes my best friend
Certainly not the average girl
Shes my best friend
Understands me when Im fallin...
Fallin down
Fallin down...

The Amazing Power of Humanity
People here, people there
People using their power everywhere
Humanity toward others
With a humbleness not seen by many
The power, the excitment seen on faces when people give and recieve
It's so bloody tremendous!
We all have that power to provide to others
But not all are giving, some take
Some really show it's fake
It's amazing, the power of humanity
Being humble without a grumble
Even if you stumble
It's OK
Never give up, humanity needs you
For with your power, you can break though
The strength that you show provides many others with comfort
A feeling that they too can grow
Humanity, the power, the freeing
The true caring, wow, what a passionate feeling
If only more would show such compassion for others
Maybe then humans could all truly become one
That's the true amazing power of humanity
