When entertainment was begun, during the Depression, it was supposed to take people's minds off reality. People could sing, dance, act or do anything. It was the type of entertainment that was available.

Entertainment
Theres been another assassination
T.v. cameras moving in.
To shoot the bloodstains on the pavement
And get them on the news at ten.
Will he live or will he die, before we go on the air?
Yes, the networks are all there, in the name of
Entertainment.
Superstar psycho, from a killer to a hero,
An overnight sensation on the lips of all the nation
Is he mad or is he sane? it makes for good conversation
I call it suffering and pain, but they call it entertainment
Sex violence murder and rape. (entertainment entertainment)
Thats what you came for, thats what you pay for.
Entertainment, entertainment.
They call it entertainment
Inform us, educate us with your media machine
(call it entertainment)
Tell me what to dream
(call it entertainment)
You pay your money, what do you get?
Entertainment.
Real life for entertainment,
Cheapens my reality,
So that hollywood can make it into another b movie
The vultures get the rating and the people get the thrills
But the victims always pay, I guess they always will.
Sex violence murder and rape (entertainment entertainment)
Thats what you want, thats what they need,
Thats what you came for, thats what your paying for.
They call it entertainment (call it entertainment)
Inform us, educate us with your media machine,
(call it entertainment)
Tell me what to dream
(call it entertainment)
You pay your money, what do you get?
Entertainment, entertainment.

I think people feel starved of nice, glamorous entertainment. They want to see costumes and gaiety and a singer; old-fashioned entertainment - it won't die easily.

Thats Entertainment
Police car with a screaming siren
Pneumatic drill on ripped-up concrete
Baby wails, a stray dog howling
Brakes screech as lamp light blinking
Thats entertainment
Thats entertainment
Smash of glass and a rumble of boots
Electric train and a ripped up phone booth
A hot day and a sticky black tarmac
A hot day and Im wishing I was far away
Thats entertainment
Thats entertainment
La, la, la
La, la, la
Days of speed and a slow time mondays
Wake up at 6 am and think about your holidays
Open window and breathe in petrol
Cold flat with damp on the walls
Yes, thats entertainment
Thats entertainment
La, la, la
La, la, la
La, la, la
La, la, la
Two lovers kissing over screams of midnight
Two lovers miss the tranquility of solitude
Read grafitti of slash-seat affairs
Splattered walls and a kick in the balls
Is all that you get - in the name of entertainment
La, la, la
La, la, la ...

I believe that science fiction is as profound as you want it to be or it can be very simple entertainment, and I'm all for very simple entertainment. Every now and then we all need to come home, veg-out, watch something and not think too deeply about it. It's what you want it to be. We tend to steer clear of being pedantic; it's entertainment first, otherwise we'd be on a lecture circuit.

I think the Internet's been a tremendous tool in terms of breaking down the power structure of information and entertainment, particularly at a time when so much information and entertainment were in the hands of so few people, with multinationals owning everything.

I Hate Censorship
The orgy of entertainment
Politicians grabbing at each others tail coats
Pulling at each others sleeves
To the pauper in the street its a fight for change
A fight for what's right A fight for a more human face
In reality they pulling off the suits breaking open the pants grabbing at the dresses
Enjoying the orgy of entertainment
Only its not each other that is the prize
Its the taxi driver and the school goer the till operator and the farm worker
They are the orgy of entertainment
Day in day out the fearless battle starts and ends, talking rebuke scolding complaining its like orgiastic moans from the bedroom
Not its like
It is
It is the cavorting of a hierarchy that enjoys the spoils while they [censored] society day in and day out.

This is where you see the truth of entertainment, because it is not edited. You see it on stage as it is happening. Even if we fall down or forget our words, it's a part of live entertainment.

We've finally told the world that this is sports entertainment, and I think one of the best forms of entertainment is anything that's fun or funny, something that you really enjoy watching or listening to.

It's supposed to be entertainment. It's not supposed to be a documentary.
Except here it's more power, more energy, younger and also in Europe it's still not only entertainment. Theater or films are looked at as a moral institution. That's why maybe they're so poetic. Here it's clear entertainment.

If you do things with a certain type of result and cause a certain type of reaction or effect, then you increase your market value. It's very much a competition for the entertainment dollar, and that's never been more clearly evident than in today's NBA game.

Poeple Around Me
Some people around me are nicer than others
Some are sisters, some are brothers
Some are cousins, moms and friends
Some relationships stay till the end
People may feel sad
Others may be bad
Others are kind
And keep positive thoughts on their minds
Some are tall
Some are short
There are people who are skinny
And others of all sorts
Some are color
Some are white
But people in every way
Are just right
Some people sing
Others just dance
Some people sit
Others just prance
Some people laugh
Others just cry
Things that way
Make the day go by
People around me are
Different in every way
And in this way that’s all I have to say

Depression is...
Depression is Loving someone with nothing in return,
Depression is Slowly living instead of jumping head first,
Depression is Acknowledging the mistake but without learn,
Depression is Not trying, giving into your lifes curse.
Depression is Cutting and cutting thinking you cant stop,
Depression is Staying quiet thinking no-one will care,
Depression is Floating around with the desire to drop,
Depression is Ignoring the people who always seem to be there.
Depression is Trying to end the life youve been given,
Depression is Watching other people watch you,
Depression is Giving up instead of being hard driven,
Depression is Depression, do you feel it too?

Enjoyment is getting what you wanted.
Entertainment is enjoying what is
presented.
Enjoyment brings pain before or after.
Entertainment does it in the process.
